The Disguised Billionaire She Rejected novel Chapter 53

Chapter 53

Lord Ray was taken to the interrogation room of the National Barracks, where he was being tortured. By the time Marcus and Natalie arrived to ask him questions, he was already half dead.

Beaten blue and black, purple patches all over his swollen face. As soon as he saw Marcus, he couldn’t help but cry and drop to his knees.

“Please… forgive me. I will do whatever you want. Please, I can’t survive this much longer.”

“I don’t have any right to forgive you. I’m not the one you offended, but the innocent girls.”

He burst into tears. The torture was too much, and he was thinking of begging for death.

Then Marcus said, “But I can ask them to stop if you answer all my questions correctly.”

Lord Ray who was strapped tightly to the tied chair, his body shaking uncontrollably as pain shot through him. His voice broke as he struggled to speak.

“I will… I swear I will,” he cried out repeatedly, his head jerking forward as if begging the air itself for

mercy.

Marcus stepped closer, expression unreadable. He pulled out a bullet and held it up in front of him.

“Tell me about this.”

Lord Ray squinted through swollen eyes, forcing himself to focus. When he finally recognized it, his breathing hitched.

“That… that is mine,” he said quickly. “Me and my gang produce illegal bullets and sell them illegally, that

is our label.”

Marcus scoffed, tightening his grip on the bullet. “This exact bullet was used to assassinate a highly influential man.”

Lord Ray shook his head violently, panic rising in his voice.

“No, no, I swear I know nothing about that. I never carry out assassinations. I only produce bullets and

sell them. That’s all I do. I swear.”

His words broke into desperate gasps, his body trembling against the restraints.

Natalie stepped forward, her voice sharp. “Those who bought it, you have their records.”

Lord Ray nodded rapidly, tears streaming down his face.

“Yes, yes, I did. I did keep records. In fact, I have a journal of everything-my transactions, all drug transportations, and the selling of bullets. In fact, all past girls I have trafficked. Those records can be traced.”

Lord Ray told them every spec of truth about his organisation and where he kept the journal. when they

are done with him, marcus and natalie turned to walk out.

“Tell them, you said you will tell them not to hurt me again!”. He cried out.

Marcus face the guards with him and said, “I am disappointed. he still has mouth to talk, you haven’t deal with him properly”.

The guards bowed.

“No, no no!…”, Lord Ray cried out, as the guard continued thier session with him.

Meanwhile, After Natalie and Marcus reached out, Natalie stated, “We are getting closer we just have to get the journal, and we would be able to trace who carry out the attack”.

Marcus nodded, “You and the boys should go to the location next thing tomorrow morning, it’s late now”.

Natalie nodded, “Okay… will do”.

With that, they drive home. as Natalie prepared a good dinner for him and have a good night rest.

Marcus woke up the next day on Sunday morning and realized Natalie had already left for the location.

He got out of bed immediately and went into the bathroom. The shower was quick but deliberate.

Today, he and Julia were meeting her parents to announce the fake relationship they had agreed on.

When he came out, he dressed with unusual care. Every button was aligned properly, his shirt neatly tucked, jacket fitted cleanly on his shoulders. Even his watch sat perfectly on his wrist. He looked like someone preparing for a major event, not just a meeting.

He checked himself once in the mirror, adjusted his collar slightly, then left.

He met Julia just a street away from her family house.

She was already waiting by her car. When she saw him, she paused briefly, her eyes scanning him from head to toe before she looked away like she was trying not to react.

“Wow,” she said under her breath. “You really prepared hard for this.”

Marcus gave a small smile. “I’m ready.”

Julia nodded, but there was a flicker of concern in her eyes. “Hope they take this well and won’t be rude to you.”

“I will be fine,” Marcus replied calmly.

She opened the car door and they both got in. The drive was short. When they arrived, the building stood just ahead.

It was large enough to show wealth, but not extravagant. A well-kept middle-class mansion with clean walls, polished windows, and a neatly trimmed compound. Anyone could tell the family was comfortable, respected, and established, but not overly rich.

Julia stepped out first. Marcus followed.

They walked toward the entrance together.

The front door opened into a spacious hallway that led into a grand living room. Inside, several members of the family were seated, clearly in the middle of a meeting. Papers were on the table, voices low, until the moment they saw Julia walk in with a stranger beside her.

Everything stopped.

Silence dropped instantly over the room.

At the head of the space sat Mr. Alfred, the elder of the house, a man in his late 60s with a stern face carved by years of authority. His eyes narrowed immediately as he studied Marcus.

Julia bowed slightly. “Good morning, Grandfather.”

Marcus also bowed respectfully.

Mr. Alfred did not return the greeting.

Instead, his gaze hardened. “Who is this with you?”

Julia straightened slowly.
