Jessica was in her room, her eyes glued to her laptop as she focused on her work. Just then, Mrs. Morgan and Travis came in.
They looked nervous, hesitant about whatever they had to say. Jessica sighed.
“Please say whatever you have to… you are distracting me,” she said.
Travis then stepped forward and placed a document on the table. Jessica frowned and asked, “What is
it?”
Travis cleared his throat. “This is from Mr. Smith, one of the elders of the Langston family-the one I told you I knew.”
He paused before continuing. “It’s about an investment the Langston family is running. They’re inviting select investors into a project that guarantees over 50% profit. If you invest 20 million dollars, you will get 100 million dollars in return.”
Jessica raised her eyebrows slightly as she listened.
“I went through a lot of stress to secure this opportunity for you,” Travis added quickly. “It’s very exclusive. Not everyone is allowed in.”
Jessica glanced at the document, now clearly interested. “From the Langston family?” she asked.
Mrs. Morgan quickly chimed in. “Yes. And it’s 100% certain it will work out. This is the Langston family we’re talking about-they are known for their honesty and successful ventures.”
Travis nodded. “Minimum entry is 20 million dollars, but if you invest 50 million, your return could go up
to 200 million.”
He leaned in slightly. “The profit will come within one year. Do you know how incredible that is? This is a lifetime opportunity.”
Jessica leaned back in her chair, thinking. “Yes… it does sound like a big opportunity,” she said slowly.” But if I sign this deal, I’ll be using a huge part of my wealth-and company funds.”
She stood up slightly. “I need to meet Mr. Smith myself. I want to hear everything directly before I sign anything.”
Travis looked slightly uneasy. “But Mr. Smith is a very busy man. You can sign it now, and I’ll deliver it and report back to him.”
Jessica shook her head firmly. “No. I can go to him myself. I won’t sign anything unless I meet him in
person.”
Mrs. Morgan nodded in agreement. “She’s right. Can we arrange a meeting with Mr. Smith?”
Travis hesitated, then sighed. “Alright… I will inform him. I will make sure the two of you meet.”

Meanwhile, Marcus was in a car with Natalie. They were making their way to The Langstone enterprises
The board elders had decided to make Marcus the new leader, pending the time Mr. Langston himself would wake up.
But Marcus, having no prior experience, had chosen a different path-he decided to become an ordinary employee in the branding department first. He wanted to prove himself from the ground up, and earn his place properly. Only then would the board fully support his leadership.
On the way, Natalie spoke up.
“Marcus, I’ve found the man Travis is meeting.”
She showed him a picture on her phone. It was a middle-aged man-not too old, not too young.
Natalie’s expression darkened. “He’s a scammer. He fled from Switzerland after swindling a lot of people. Whatever he is telling Travis is a complete lie. He’s trying to scam them.”
Marcus sighed, his expression tightening. “If Jessica falls into this scam… it will be over for her.”
He leaned back in his seat, thinking for a moment. “I need to inform her. About everything”.
Even though they were not in terms, he couldn’t just wait and let something like this happened!
Soon after, they arrived at the company building.
Marcus reached for the door, ready to step out, when Natalie stopped him.
“You can still change your mind,” she said quietly. “If you become CEO, I will help you run the company. You don’t have to put yourself through this.”
Marcus shook his head. “That would be the hard way. I need to learn it properly.”
Natalie frowned, clearly worried. Because Marcus was also hiding his identity, but she respected his decision.
After a pause, she nodded slowly. “Alright… just be careful.”
Marcus gave a slight nod and stepped out of the car, walking toward the building with quiet determination.
Marcus made his way inside the large company building. The lobby was decorated with glass walls, polished marble floors.
Marcus paused briefly, taking it all in. For a moment, it was strange-he was meant to be the owner of all this one day, yet right now he was just an intern trying learn
He adjusted his simple ID badge and headed toward the branding department.
As he stepped into the office floor, he suddenly stopped.

The sound cracked through the room.
“What the heck is this you did?! Are you even competent at all? How did you even get this job?!”
A sharp female voice echoed.
Marcus looked over-and saw a scene unfolding.
A senior-looking woman stood aggressively over another staff member. The senior was thin, pale-
