The Disguised Billionaire She Rejected novel Chapter 88

Chapter 88

Jessica didn’t even wait for Marcus to finish talking before she cut.

“Hey, what do you have to say uhg, i thought you were ignoring me before,” she snapped sharply.

Marcus paused for a moment, and wanted to talk again.

Travis immediately stepped forward, voice rising as he chimed. “What? you were embrassed that we found that you are nobody just a clerk, and you have just been bluffing”.

“You are a lowlife and you will forever be!”.

Marcus finally turned his head slightly, his eyes calm but distant. he didn’t bother to say anything again and just walked away.

Travis clicked his tongue. “Coward. You can’t even talk. a shameless man…”

“Enough.” Jessica interrupted Travis, telling him that its okay.

Travis stopped mid-sentence, surprised.

Jessica’s eyes stayed on Marcus for a moment before she finally looked at Travis. “I said enough. You always go too far. we are here to secure a deal we don’t want any problem”

Travis frowned, “I am just trying to embrassed him, just as he always does to you”.

“No,” Jessica interrupted. “You’re just being loud. also, me and marcus would still be back together. so don’t keep making things worst”

Marcus didn’t say anything. He simply walked past them and continued down the corridor like none of it mattered.

Travis scoffed under his breath but followed Jessica as she moved forward.

When they reached the office door, Jessica frowned slightly.

It was too quiet. She knocked repeatedly, but there was no any response. She knocked again, harder this

time.

Still nothing.

Travis leaned closer. “Maybe the person isn’t around.”

Jessica didn’t answer. She pushed the door open instead. and it swung wide opened. the door wasn’t

locked.

When she stepped in, she was surprised to find the office was empty.

Not just empty. It looked like it had been hastily cleared. Files gone, chairs slightly displaced, faint marks on the desk like things had just been removed minutes ago.

Jessica’s expression tightened.

“What’s going on here?” she muttered.

Then her thoughts shifted back to Marcus. Back to how he had almost said something earlier before

Travis cut him off.

A slow realization formed in her eyes. This is what he was trying to tell me. And she just let Travis insult him instead. she felt guilty.

She decided to make sure she aplogize for this.

Jessica turned away from the empty office, and made her way to the receptionist.

When they reached the reception desk, Jessica stopped.

The receptionist looked up immediately, sensing the tension in her face. “Good afternoon, ma’am.”

Jessica didn’t waste time. “The office you sent us to. It was empty.”

The receptionist blinked, then quickly straightened. “Ah… I’m sorry about that.” She adjusted a file in front of her, slightly flustered. “The sales manager changed the meeting office this morning. It was very last minute. I thought everyone had already been informed.”

Jessica’s brows relaxed slightly. “Changed office?”

“Yes,” the receptionist confirmed quickly. she aplogized and, then told her where the new office is.

Jessica exhaled softly and nodded. “Alright. Thank you.”

She turned away immediately, already moving again. Travis trailed after her. clearly irritated.

“That bastard should have told us they changed the office,” he muttered under his breath.

Jessica slowed her steps and shot him a sharp look. “He wanted to,” she said coldly. “Before you bombarded him with insults.”

Travis frowned. “I was just trying to-”

“Maybe you should know when to shut up,” Jessica cut in firmly.

That landed harder than expected. Travis went quiet for a moment, his jaw tightening as he swallowed his response. He said nothing after that, only following her in silence as they headed toward the elevator.

When the elevator dinged open, they stepped out into the corridor leading to the east wing.

Jessica was about to move forward when the elevator dinged again behind them.

She paused. Another set of footsteps entered the floor.

Travis turned first. “What the heck is she doing here?”

Jessica followed his gaze and immediately saw her.

Julia.

For a brief second, Jessica’s expression hardened. Her eyes locked onto Julia, unreadable but sharp. In her mind, a single thought formed clearly. What is she doing here?

Travis, however, didn’t bother hiding his reaction. “Seriously? Why is she here?”
