The Disguised Billionaire She Rejected novel Chapter 87

Chapter 87

Betty exhaled slowly and leaned back in her chair.

“I’ve spent hours on this,” she admitted. “Going back and forth between them. But these two companies are just exceptional in their own way.”

Marcus stayed quiet as his eyes drifted back to the files on the desk.

He studied Jessica’s file again.

No matter what other bad behavior Jessica possessed, Jessica was still a strong businessperson. She had insight, experience, and a history that couldn’t be ignored. Then he glanced at Julia’s file. A newer record, and impressive growth with aggressive development. she had a clear potential worth investing in.

Both choices were valid.

But Marcus knew he couldn’t choose. If he picked one, it would look like favoritism. Worse, it would raise questions.

He leaned back and finally spoke.

“Sorry,” he said quietly. “I can’t choose.”

Betty frowned immediately.

“What do you mean you can’t choose? because you know the both ladies”.

She tilted her head, studying him.

“How do you even know both companies so well?”

Marcus paused. His jaw tightened slightly.

Then he sighed. “It’s a long story,” he said. “But Jessica… is my wife.”

Betty blinked, surprised, but she didn’t press further. Instead, she slowly nodded as if recalibrating everything she had just heard.

Marcus rubbed his forehead, then spoke again.

“What if we call both companies in for final presentations?” he suggested. “Let them present properly. We can observe them directly, how they think, how they respond under pressure. Then you can decide based on that.”

Betty straightened. “I like that idea,” she said. “That’s actually better than anything I’ve been considering.

we will weight them more”

Marcus gave a small nod. “Good.”

That night, Marcus returned home later than usual.

Natalie was already in the living room when he walked in. She glanced at him over her phone, noticing his tired expression. she could tell something was worrying him and she asked.

He told her everything that had happened at the office.

When he finished, Natalie couldn’t help but laugh softly.

“Honestly,” she said, shaking her head, “this is obvious. Julia is the better choice. You don’t even need to stress yourself about it.”

Marcus looked at her. “But I can’t just decide that.”

Natalie shrugged. “You know how horrible jessica is!. she can never handle something like that, and also, you are more closer to ms. julia than her. you should benefit her.”

Marcus exhaled slowly. “I can’t just do that”.

“I think Betty will make the right decision,” he said. “That’s the safest way to handle it.”

Later that night, just before he slept, Julia sent him a message.

[Are you okay? Is everything fine? No issues after that night?].

She was referring to the fight. with Frederick.

Marcus replied simply.

[Nothing happened. Everything is fine].

A moment later, Julia replied again. She told him about the pressure she was facing at her family’s company. Even though she was COO, many people didn’t support her. They resented her decisions, her strict standards, and the fact she didn’t bend to their personal interests.

“They don’t like me,” she wrote. “Even though I’ve been improving the company. Raising its value. They just want me gone.”

Then another message came in.

“If only I could secure the Aurora Branding Project from the Langstone family… they wouldn’t dare touch me again. i have put a lot in this company than just let them take everything away from me!”

Marcus stared at the message for a long moment. Julia was so desperate for the project. He was in a perfect place to help her out.

But he didn’t say anything about his involvement and just messaged her, telling her that she should just prepared hard and do her best, even without the Aurora Branding Project, she would continue being the COO.
