Jessica thought about it for a moment, her brows furrowing as doubt gnawed at her confidence. She turned to Travis with a skeptical look.
“Did you really believe this Mr. Smith is someone worthy, and affiliated with Langstone? I have never seen him with them,” she said, her voice laced with uncertainty.
Travis placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder. “He already helped you many times. This isn’t the first. He is more powerful than he usually shows himself.”
Jessica gulped, searching Travis’s eyes for any sign of hesitation. After a tense pause, she decided to believe him. It was easier than facing the alternative.
Travis even added, “In fact, he would come out in public tomorrow and you shall see how powerful he is.”
Jessica frowned but nodded slowly. Maybe then, she would see if he was truly legit.
Meanwhile, that night at a quiet upscale restaurant, Julia sat at a corner table, waiting patiently. As soon as Marcus entered, she waved her hand lightly. He smiled and walked over to join her.
“Hello,” He greeted her
she said simply. “Fine.”
She looked slightly annoyed and angry, her arms crossed. Marcus smiled, knowing exactly what she was
irritated about.
“Why didn’t you tell me that you are the Assistant Sales Manager?” she asked.
Marcus leaned forward slightly. “I did that so you wouldn’t feel inconvenienced, and I didn’t want to be partial. I’m sorry.”
Julia sighed and nodded, her expression softening. “Okay, i get it, this contract… I hope I get it.”
Marcus smiled gently. “If you do better.”
Julia just scoffed lightly, but there was affection in her eyes. She understood Marcus was doing all this to stay neutral-so he wouldn’t appear to favor her. It only made her love him more. Someone so honest and solid.
As he was about to call someone to serve them, the server arrived in the middle of the room and shouted, “Can everyone leave please!”.
This immediately caused a ruckus among everyone in the restaurant. It wasn’t yet closing time, and the sudden announcement caught people off guard. Some diners turned to each other in confusion, while others raised their voices.
“What’s wrong?” one woman asked, setting her fork down.

“Did something urgent happen at home?” another man called out, looking concerned.
But the server simply repeated, “You all just have to leave right now. Don’t worry-everything you have eaten is free.”
Everyone murmured to each other in disbelief. Julia sighed and looked at Marcus. “Let’s go.”
Marcus was about to stand when a young man, who didn’t look particularly rich in his casual clothes, spoke up loudly.
“At least you should tell us what happened. You can’t just send us out like this.”
With that, everyone nodded in agreement. They deserved an explanation. The murmurs grew louder as people voiced their support.
The server hesitated, then said, “Actually, it’s because of some maintenance.”
Marcus nodded calmly. “Well, that’s a valid reason”.
“Please bear with us.” The server repeated the request, and everyone began to calm down, slowly gathering their things and preparing to leave.
Then a loud voice yelled from behind them.
“Hey young man, I am the one sending you all out! I want to propose to my fiancée here tonight, and I am shutting down this restaurant for her!”.
The man was shouting directly at the young man who had asked for an explanation. Hearing him, everyone in the restaurant stopped in their tracks, the murmurs dying down as tension filled the air.
The poor-looking customer frowned deeply. “Really? We’ve been sent away because of you? Just because you want to propose?”
“Yeah, because of me,” the rich man replied arrogantly, puffing out his chest. “I am the one sending you all out. Well, because I have the power.”
It was immediately obvious he was nothing more than a spoiled rich brat.
The customer turned to the server, his voice steady but firm. “So this is the real reason you’re sending us away?”
The server sighed, looking down apologetically, and said, “Please. We will refund all your money for tonight!”
The rich man sneered. “You should be happy I made all of you eat for free tonight, especially you, an ordinary poor man! Look at your dress and look at everyone else. You are the only poor guy here. And you still have the guts to demand an explanation. It irritates me. Whenever poor people like you act out, being uncivilised and uncultured. Just pack yourself and leave.”
The poor-looking man gazed at the server and said, “Don’t you think it’s against customer ethics for doing this? Sending all customers away because of one person?”
