The Divorce Papers Tasted Like Revenge (Tracy and Chandler) novel Chapter 116

Chapter 116 Yvonne’s Explanation

In the past, as long as it involved Yvonne, Jared would never ask questions, no matter the cost.

What was wrong today? Why was he suddenly demanding to check his accounts? Was the company having a financial crisis?

That couldn’t be it.

Or was Jared just looking for an excuse to beat him up?

Yvonne stepped in front of Chase and said meelly, “It’s all my fault. I was the one who pestered Chase to buy them for me. It has nothing to do with Chase. If you’re going to blame someone, blame me.”

Normally, her brothers would give her anything she wanted. She truly hadn’t expected Jared to suddenly check the accounts.

Had Tracy said something to Jared?

At the thought of Tracy, a flash of resentment went through Yvonne. Today’s turn of events was something she had never anticipated. Tracy’s sudden appearance had disrupted all their plans, which only deepened her prejudice against her.

Watching this display of sibling devotion, and seeing Yvonne’s innocent expression, he found it truly difficult to imagine that the sister standing before him was a person of such deep duplicity.

If he checked Chase’s phone and didn’t see a call log from Linda, he would believe Yvonne and would only treat her better from now on.

On the other hand, if it was just as Tracy had said, then Yvonne’s credibility with him would be shattered.

At this thought, Jared decisively snatched Chases phone and used Chase’s fingerprint to unlock it.

Chase was dumbfounded. Jared had actually snatched his phone! That was robbery!

He rushed over, trying to get it back. “You can’t do this! You’re going through my phone without my permission! I have a right to privacy, you know! Give me my phone back! You’re invading my privacy. This is wrong!”

Chase still had some smut he hadn’t finished reading on his phone. There would definitely be a history. If Jared saw that, how embarrassing would it be? No! He couldn’t let Jared see his private stuff.

But Jared gave him no chance. He held the phone high and swiped straight to the call log.

Only she and Linda knew about this. And since she hadn’t spoken, Linda had no idea she was the one who had answered the phone.

The only person who could have told Jared this was Tracy. Only Tracy would backstab her like this, wishing for her downfall.

At this thought, she stepped forward to explain on Chase’s behalf. “Chase was skydiving at that time, and he gave me his phone to hold, so he didn’t know. It was probably because we were in the mountains, but I couldn’t really hear what Linda was saying, so I didn’t mention it to him. I really didn’t know Grandmother was sick. If I had known, I would have come back with Chase and the others immediately.”

Tracy’s attempt to ruin her with this was likely to fail. She had tried to delete the call log back then. But deleting the call log required a password. She didn’t know Chase’s password and had failed after a few tries, so she was unable to delete it.

She never thought this would end up being the very evidence Tracy used to backstab her. That woman, Tracy, was so sinister and cunning willing to do anything to destroy her.

Luckily, she was quick-witted. Otherwise, she really would have been trapped by Tracy. That woman was terrifying.

Tracy just seemed to love playing dirty and bad mouthing people. She was truly despicable.

At this, Chase also stumbled over his words to explain. “What on earth did Tracy tell you? You’ve had a long face ever since you got back, questioning me and Yvonne. Yvonne is so sweet; she would never lie. Tracy must have exaggerated and told you a bunch of bad things about us. What the hell does that Tracy want? Will she not be satisfied until she’s torn our family apart?”
