The Divorce Prescription (Celina and Adam) novel Chapter 1001

"I'm guessing you already figured it out, am I right?" Hailey said.

Justin stared at Hailey in disbelief, then looked at Jonah.

"Jonah, did you two know Ewan and Joanne were going to make a move tonight? So this whole thing was your plan from the start?" Justin asked.

Jonah nodded. "That's right."

A few hours ago, he and Hailey had been in the study when he got the call from Justin.

Jonah had immediately decided he wasn't going to the office that night. No matter how much money was at stake, nothing was more important than his wife and child.

He wanted to stay with them.

Someone as sharp as Jonah immediately sensed something was off.

He asked, "Hailey, why do you keep trying to get me to go to the office? I feel like you're hiding something from me."

Hailey looked at him with a smile and responded, "What if I am?"

Jonah said, "For all I know, you might just be trying to get rid of me so you can run away by yourself again!"

Hailey burst out laughing. "Really, Jonah? You think I'm able to run away that easily?"

Jonah nodded seriously. "Yes. You're already run off plenty of times, and every time, I had to chase you down and bring you back!"

Hailey felt a bitter ache in her heart, but she still smiled. "Jonah, do you believe me? I've always been here. I never left you!"

After everything they had been through and all the misunderstandings between them, Jonah could still choose to trust her without hesitation.

That was something truly rare.

Hailey said, "Jonah, Ewan's scheming started three years ago. All we need to do now is stick to the plan. Don't tip him off."

"What exactly do you want me to do?" Jonah asked.

Hailey replied, "You don't need to do anything right now. You just have to listen to me and go to the company! Once you're there, Ewan and Joanne will be forced to make a move. They'll definitely come after me!"

Jonah frowned. "No! That makes it even more impossible for me to leave. I can't let you and the baby fall into danger!"

When she saw how serious and unyielding he looked, Hailey immediately held his neck and pleaded in a coy voice, "Jonah, you just said you trust me. I need you to listen to me now."

"But…"
