The Divorce Prescription (Celina and Adam) novel Chapter 1002

Hailey cut Jonah off. "No more excuses. I'm fully capable of taking care of both myself and our baby. Right now, I need you to cooperate and follow my lead. Do you understand?"

Pressed by her unwavering insistence, Jonah finally relented. "Alright, I'll do as you say. I'll head to the office."

Without hesitation, he left, going along with Hailey's plan.

Hailey pulled out a voice recorder, and her eyes locked onto Ewan and Joanne.

"Every word of our conversation just now has been recorded," she declared. "This is solid proof of your guilt. Between the witness statements and this recording, there's no way out for you two. You'll be locked up for the rest of your lives. Forget about ever walking free again."

Ewan and Joanne gasped, caught completely off guard. Hailey had planned everything perfectly and made sure to record every detail.

"No! Hand over the recorder!" Joanne shouted, reaching out desperately.

Without a moment's hesitation, Hailey handed the voice recorder to the police officer. "Officer, this is for you."

"Thank you," the officer said, taking the device and turning toward Ewan and Joanne. "You have the right to remain silent. We'll see you in court."

Joanne's face twisted with anger. "Hailey, I never thought you'd outsmart me. I can't believe I lost!"

"Joanne, I told you long ago Jonah was never yours. You were always chasing something that never belonged to you. Now it's time you face the consequences."

Ewan fought against the officer's grip, desperate to break free. "I swear I'm going to kill you, Hailey!"

Before he could say another word, Jonah stepped in and punched him hard in the face.

Hailey's heart fluttered at his final words.

All of a sudden, Jonah reached out and took her hand.

He looked Joanne square in the eye and said, "I've said before that Hailey and the baby she's carrying are my absolute priority. I won't allow anyone to harm them.

"Last time, you sent Hailey to the operating table. Now, you've gone even further by kidnapping her. From this day forward, let's forget we ever crossed paths. You'll be locked away for the rest of your life."

Joanne's face drained of color. Jail was the last thing she wanted—she still had her whole life ahead of her. She refused to let it end like this.

Wrongdoers like her acted boldly in their crimes, but when justice came knocking, they were suddenly seized by fear and panic.

When she saw Jonah's unwavering resolve, Joanne turned to Justin. "Justin… aren't you going to help me?"
