The Divorce Prescription (Celina and Adam) novel Chapter 1003

"Joanne, I honestly thought you were a friend!" Justin snapped. "But to you, I was just a means to an end.

"If I could go back, I'd wish we'd never met. Don't expect any sympathy from me. You made your choices. Now live with them. Spend the rest of your life in prison for all I care."

Upon realizing that even Justin had abandoned her, Joanne was left in utter shock. The thought of prison was unbearable. She simply couldn't accept it.

She turned to Hailey and snapped, "This is all your fault, Hailey! I had such a bright future ahead of me. You're the one who ruined everything!"

"Even now, you still show no remorse. Joanne, it was your own greed that brought you down," Hailey replied.

Jonah had no patience left for Ewan and Joanne. "Take them out," he commanded.

Without a word, they were escorted out of the room.

Once they were gone, Justin turned to Hailey and said, "Ms. Hailey, I owe you an apology."

When she saw Justin lower his head, Hailey offered a reassuring smile. "Justin, you don't have to apologize. You weren't to blame. You just trusted Joanne a bit too much."

Justin hurried to clarify, "Ms. Hailey, I was truly deceived by Joanne. No matter what happened, I never intended to harm you or the baby you're carrying."

"Justin, what's the use of apologizing now?" Jonah interjected.

"Jonah…" Justin begged. "We've been friends for so long. Please… just give me one more chance. I swear I'll make things right."

Hailey's lips lifted into a smile. "Alright, Mr. Pilsner, stop messing with Justin."

"Ms. Hailey, if you still won't forgive me, I'll have no choice but to get down on my knees and beg for your forgiveness!"

Just as Justin began to kneel, Hailey quickly reached out and stopped him. "Justin, get up."

He looked up at her. "Ms. Hailey, does that mean you've forgiven me?"

"Justin, I know you're Jonah's best friend, and everything you did was out of loyalty to him. So yes, I forgive you," Hailey said. "But from now on, you need to be more aware and cautious. Don't let anyone take advantage of you again."

Hailey felt a surge of warmth when she saw Jonah's worry.

She smiled and said, "Mr. Pilsner, stop grilling the doctor. He's checked everything. The baby and I are completely fine."

"Mr. and Mrs. Pilsner, you two make such a loving couple. I'll be heading out now," the doctor said before leaving.

As Hailey sat on the bed, Jonah reached out and gently placed his hand on her belly. "I shouldn't have let you take such a risk today."

"If I hadn't taken that risk, how else would you have uncovered the truth about what happened three years ago?" Hailey replied.

She cupped his face in her hands and whispered, "Jonah, listen to me carefully. I never tried to hurt you. It was all Ewan's scheme."

Jonah nodded. "I know now. I understand everything."

He finally realized that Hailey had never truly left him. For the past three years, she had carried him in her heart, just as he had carried her in his.
