The Divorce That Brought Us Back novel Chapter 17

Maloney had launched his first startup while still in college. It was the golden age of rapid technological expansion.

He was fiercely ambitious, fearless, and aggressively innovative. Blessed with exceptional personal talent, combined with the substantial backing of his family's wealth and an elite network of connections, he skyrocketed to dominance in the business world.

His original tech startup had successfully gone public two years ago.

Now, he personally managed the publicly traded tech empire with one hand, while overseeing his family's vast financial and real estate conglomerates with the other.

At such a young age, he had already become an absolute powerhouse among The Capital Elite.

This was Nora's first time visiting his corporate headquarters.

Stepping out of the car, she stood on the pavement and stared up at the imposing thirty-two-story skyscraper looming in front of her.

This entire building belonged to Maloney.

And it was just one of his many assets.

Nora stood frozen for a few seconds.

"Let's go." Maloney laced his fingers through hers, giving her palm a reassuring squeeze. Nora snapped out of her daze, gave a soft "Yeah," and walked through the main doors by his side.

The receptionist beamed a flawless, professional smile the moment she saw him. "Good morning, Mr. Jameson."

She then turned to Nora and offered a polite nod.

It was the very first time the CEO had ever brought a woman into the office.

But the receptionist possessed elite-level professionalism; her face betrayed absolutely zero shock.

Maloney paused in his tracks, leaned down, and pressed a kiss to Nora's forehead before introducing her with complete nonchalance. "This is my wife."

A flicker of absolute pure shock sparked in the receptionist's eyes, but she maintained her brilliant smile and smoothly corrected herself, "Mrs. Jameson."

Nora was far more shocked than the receptionist.

It took her several seconds to even formulate a response.

Maloney didn't linger. He guided Nora straight into the executive elevator.

The news of the CEO bringing his wife to the office spread through the entire company within the short span of the elevator ride up to the thirty-second floor.
