Nora shot him a side-eye. "This is exactly why I told you that you don't understand my industry."

"S-Atelier is a top-tier international design firm. She's thirty years old and spent eight years there. Landing a job at the pinnacle of the design world right out of college proves she's got the raw talent."

"But she's been there for eight years and is still just an assistant designer. That means her abilities either plateaued, or she's terrible at networking and office politics. Judging from our chat just now, she's incredibly pretentious—a personality that rarely survives in massive corporate environments."

"She claimed she resigned because a new designer was stealing her work. That tells me S-Atelier couldn't stand her personality but still highly valued her output. It also means she still has some backbone and a refusal to give up."
