The Divorce That Brought Us Back novel Chapter 212

"Ms. Sinclair is really playing the long game for your husband, isn't she?" Cassidy mused before adding with a smirk, "Come on, mastermind, time to play her like a fiddle."

Nora: "..."

Were they seriously never going to let that nickname go?

Nora threw back her teacup like it was a shot of whiskey and sighed heavily. "I was completely useless in front of her just now."

Cassidy refilled her cup. "You really don't have to be intimidated by her."

"I know," Nora mumbled defensively.

In hindsight, Nora realized she wasn't entirely defenseless against someone like Seraphina.

She could have targeted her vulnerabilities.

Seraphina was obsessed with Maloney, but Maloney felt absolutely nothing for her—he was madly in love with Nora.

All Nora had to do was casually flaunt her marriage.

For example, when Seraphina claimed Sebastian loved her, Nora could have easily smiled and said she was happily married, hopelessly in love with her husband, and that he had literally just escorted her to the elevator. That alone would have probably sent Seraphina into a complete mental breakdown.

But her brain had completely stalled in the moment.

Maybe she just hadn't fully embraced her new reality yet—the reality that Seraphina wasn't Maloney's untouchable first love, and that Nora was the only woman he had ever cared for.

She had lost her nerve.

"I'll destroy her next time," Nora vowed.

Cassidy laughed out loud. "Do you know what you look like right now? You look exactly like someone replaying an argument they just lost in the shower."

"I know!" Nora downed another cup of tea. "I'm analyzing my tactical errors. Next time, I'm going for the throat."

Cassidy poured her yet another cup. "I'll organize a training camp. You and Jasmine can practice debating each other. Actually, Jasmine is even worse at confrontation than you are. She starts crying before she even opens her mouth."

The two of them jokingly strategized about when to hold their 'argument boot camp.'
