The Divorce That Brought Us Back novel Chapter 244

She had a few things to confirm.

All her past efforts, her faith, and her perseverance had been reduced to a joke born of rumors, at least according to Nora and Maloney.

How could that be?

Seraphina refused to believe it.

But once a crack formed, the lingering doubt was impossible to shake.

She suddenly remembered something.

Two years ago, when she first heard Maloney was marrying Nora, Seraphina had booked an emergency flight back.

However, she had received the news far too late.

Maloney and Nora's wedding had been thrown together in a rush to begin with.

Her family had deliberately kept her in the dark.

By the time she heard about it through a mutual friend, the wedding was set for the very next day.

She bought a ticket for that night, but her flight was delayed. When she finally arrived, the ceremony was already over.

Staring at the wedding photos still on display in the hotel lobby, she had felt a profound sense of disbelief.

Seraphina had planned to track Maloney down and demand an explanation.

But Sebastian had stopped her.

Sebastian claimed that Maloney's marriage to Nora was forced by circumstance. To protect his personal and corporate reputation, Maloney had no other choice. Confronting him then, Sebastian argued, would only put him in a difficult position.

Later, Seraphina hired someone to investigate the real reason behind the sudden marriage.

There was indeed a valid reason.

And it was clear that Maloney was entirely dragged down by Nora.

Truthfully, Seraphina had never held any personal grudge against Nora.

In the past, she had even thought Nora was pretty decent. She had a mild, easygoing personality, and their grandfather adored her. If she ended up as Maloney's wife, it wouldn't have been the worst thing in the world.

At the very least, Bella Monroe couldn't even compare to a single strand of Nora's hair.

But Nora was simply too useless, and her incompetence dragged everyone else down.

That was what made her so annoying.

Seraphina had intended to go find Nora.
