The Divorce That Brought Us Back novel Chapter 271

Cigars, liquor, card tables, golf simulators, and attractive hostesses.

Not to say women didn't enjoy those things, but their trio definitely steered clear of them.

Similarly, 'high-class' didn't have an absolute definition.

It was simply that whatever the current power players preferred was automatically labeled high-class by everyone else.

Those looking to climb the ladder merely mimicked the tastes of those at the top to get closer to them.

They shouldn't lose sight of what actually mattered.

Nora realized they desperately needed to find a female-friendly private club.

That would be the right kind of network to build.

And if they really couldn't find one.

They'd just open one themselves.

Just as she had that thought, Seraphina finalized her nail design and spoke up casually, "Which project are you looking into?"

Nora snapped out of her thoughts, looked over, and answered straight to the point: "Westport."

During their phone call yesterday, Nora had already given Seraphina a heads-up that she wanted intel on a project the Sinclair Group had previously been involved in.

The leverage Nora brought to the table was her promise to help Seraphina secure representation from a top-tier law firm in the city.

Lately, the Sinclair family was drowning in internal warfare. Seraphina had ruthlessly thrown her own family members under the bus, sparking a full-blown retaliation from her relatives.

Seraphina was undeniably sharp, but she operated with too much arrogance. She had made plenty of enemies, and now that there was blood in the water, people were jumping at the chance to help her relatives take her down.

They had even hired a legendary, undefeated powerhouse attorney to crush her.

Seraphina acted unfazed, but underneath it all, the pressure was definitely getting to her.

She needed backup.

When you're dealing with smart people, any bad blood from the past can be sidelined for the sake of the bigger picture when mutual interests align.

Hearing the name "Westport," Seraphina looked mildly surprised. She shot Nora a look. "You're investigating Lucius Vane?"

There was no hiding it, so Nora nodded frankly. "Yes."

"What exactly do you want to know?"

"I want the feasibility report for the Westport project."

Typically, any project involving government funding or land development required a feasibility report for administrative approval.

Right there on the spot, the assistant emailed both the brochure and the pitch deck to Nora.

Nora immediately forwarded them to Cassidy.

"Thank you," Nora said.

The exchange was officially complete.

But their nails were still mid-process.

While Nora was texting Cassidy to break down the project details, Seraphina was murmuring to her assistant nearby.

Just as Nora was getting ready to leave, Seraphina called out to her. "The person you're really going after is Bella, isn't it?"

Her information network really was fast.

Nora looked at Seraphina calmly, offering no confirmation.

Seraphina suddenly smiled. "I can help you, Nora."

"I can hand over Lucius Vane's entire background file. I can give you the deep dive on the Westport project. I can give you absolutely everything you want to know."

"All you have to do is one thing for me."
