"Ms. Sinclair." Nora's tone remained calm and measured. "This was a transaction. You gave me the information I wanted, and I did exactly what you asked. I don't owe you anything, and you have no right to speak to me like this."

"Stop acting! Even your sister knows about it. How could you not?"

"I don't know."

"Are you joking?"

"But what if he hadn't made it? He would have made damn sure you knew he lost everything because of you. He wouldn't blame you out loud, but he'd make sure you felt guilty enough to be forever indebted to him, serving him like a slave for the rest of your life."
