The Divorce That Brought Us Back novel Chapter 321

Maloney had arranged for Seraphina to meet him at his corporate headquarters.

Dressed in a black leather trench coat that practically screamed aggressive luxury, she strutted into the massive conference room in sharp stilettos. Her eyes immediately locked onto the man sitting at the head of the table, and her confident stride faltered slightly.

He leveled his dark gaze at her.

Without a flicker of emotion, he broke the stare. Pressing an index finger against a manila folder resting on the polished mahogany, he slid it effortlessly across the long table.

It spun once before skidding to a perfect halt right in front of her.

"The intel you wanted," he stated coldly.

No pleasantries. No opening remarks. Not a single wasted breath.

A sudden laugh burst from her lips.

"Maloney, are you really not even going to look at me?"

The sharp clicks of her heels were muffled against the thick carpet.

She prowled straight up to him, leaning over the table to close the distance. Dropping her voice to a sultry whisper, she purred, "This is the first time you've ever invited me on a private date."

Mr. Hudson, who was just pulling the heavy doors shut behind her, practically tripped over his own feet.

He froze in terror, his eyes darting toward his boss, fully prepared to physically drag the woman out of the room.

Maloney didn't flinch. Sinking back into his leather chair, he delivered the kill shot. "The girl you're looking for is dead."

The air in the conference room instantly went dead.

A suffocating silence stretched between them.

The first sound to break it was the soft click of the secretary finally closing the doors.

The noise jolted her. Rolling her stiff shoulders, she slowly straightened up, taking two steps back before snatching the folder off the desk.

She flipped through the pages frantically.

After another agonizing pause, she finally spoke. "You want me to stay the hell away from Nora, don't you?"

"Yes," he replied without a second of hesitation.

A bitter chuckle escaped her throat.

It was inevitable that she would want him.

She was his exact opposite; she loved taking the lead.

Given the deep-rooted ties between their families, it took almost zero effort for her to win his parents' absolute approval.

She had effectively been branded as his future wife.

From that moment on, she treated every girl who dared to look his way like a filthy homewrecker.

She was the princess of the Sinclair empire. No one had ever stolen what belonged to her.

She marked her territory with ruthless precision.

Even though he explicitly told her he felt nothing for her, everyone around them swore they were destined for the altar.

They were just young, naive to the brutal realities of power.

If he married her, he'd inherit the crushing might of her family's empire, securing unprecedented dominance for his own bloodline.
