The Divorce That Brought Us Back novel Chapter 59

Walking past the foot of the bed, Maloney got a prime view up her nightgown.

He froze.

Reaching out, he poked the bottom of her foot.

It caught her completely off guard.

"Hey!" Nora yelped, immediately retracting her legs and rolling over, clutching the blankets.

"What are you doing?!" she huffed.

Maloney had just stepped out of the shower. He wore a dark silk robe left entirely unbelted, exposing a ridiculous expanse of chiseled chest and abs.

Sitting on the edge of the mattress, he leaned down to press a kiss to her cheek. His damp hair brushed against her skin, sending a shiver down her spine.

"Are you hungry?" he murmured. "Should we get dinner?"

"No," she muttered, still texting.

Refusing to look at him, she burrowed deeper into the sheets.

But her legs were still sticking out.

Maloney stared at the smooth expanse of skin. His jaw ticked, his gaze darkening with sudden, predatory heat.

Grabbing her ankles, he effortlessly dragged her backward across the mattress.

Nora shrieked.

She had showered just an hour ago—and he had been the one to wash her hair.

Her soft, damp strands clung to her shoulders, carrying the scent of expensive shampoo.

It was the same soap he used.

They smelled exactly the same.

Pulling her flush against his chest, Maloney buried his face in the crook of her neck, inhaling her deeply.

His hands went straight back to her hips.
