Maloney kept his arm firmly around Nora as they headed for the exit.

As they crossed the lobby, Vivian's eyes locked onto Nora. In a split second, she lost her mind. Eyes wide with feral rage, she lunged forward like a lunatic.

Reacting instantly, Diana and David grabbed Vivian by the arms, restraining her on both sides.

"Nora! What did you do to Bella? How dare you have her arrested!" Vivian screamed at the top of her lungs.

Her voice was shrill, laced with absolute venom. "Are you trying to destroy this family?"

She continued to thrash wildly, desperately trying to break free.

Nora watched her mother’s hysterical meltdown with deadened, emotionless eyes.

Maloney reached up, gently covering Nora’s eyes with his hand.

"Let's go," he said softly.

Nora let out a quiet sound of agreement, her hands clutching his sleeve. "Okay."

Hearing him, Diana turned and gave Maloney a curt nod. "Mr. Jameson, I will handle the rest. You have my word; there will be no favoritism."

Maloney offered no response.

David opened his mouth to say something, but Maloney was already guiding Nora out the door.

Seeing that everyone was ignoring her, Vivian's frenzy reached a breaking point.

Tears streaming down her face, she pulled out her phone and, with trembling fingers, called the Cole family relatives. Sobbing hysterically, she accused the Dodge family of being heartless monsters, cursing her own children for turning against her, and begged her family for help to get Bella out.

Still screaming into the phone, she was escorted further into the precinct.

Within moments, only Diana and David were left in the lobby.

Amidst the heavy silence, David let out a bitter laugh. "Bella somehow managed to connect with a district official. That politician was the one who pulled the strings to bring her back."

The Cole family's businesses relied heavily on government contracts. Over the years, Vivian had constantly acted as a middleman, introducing Bella to powerful political figures.

The corrupt official who had targeted Nora years ago had been one of the Cole family's high-level connections.

Diana completely ignored his excuse. She repeated her previous demand: "What did Bella offer you?"

David dodged the question again. "Nora is definitely going to hold this against me."

Diana scoffed.
