The Don Tore Up Our Divorce (Gemma and Cassian) novel Chapter 175

Chapter 175

Gemma’s POV

Cassian hasn’t said a word since the flight attendant walked off, but I can practically feel the quiet smugness rising from his smile and shining eyes.

He shifts slightly in his seat, glancing at me from the corner of his eye, like he’s trying to catch a reaction.

I didn’t know you’ll get so jealous that you will threaten to end the honeymoon over this—

I finally turn to face him, my gaze flat.

Excuse me, it’s not jealousy. It’s called drawing a boundary.

He leans in a little, looking irritatingly pleased with himself.

You wouldn’t get this worked up if you didn’t dislike the idea of seeing her next to me. So, just admit it. You’re happy I chose you, and I have fulfilled all the terms to be a good husband-

I blink, stunned by the question before looking him dead in the eye. No!

He raises his brows, clearly not expecting that answe. 16:54

some heroic act worth praising.

He mumbles something under his breath, too quiet to catch, but the irritation is unmistakable. Still, I pretend not to notice. it at all, turning my attention to the window.

My point stands- I’m not handing out gold stars for behavior that should have been upheld all this time.

But on the plus side, Reyna doesn’t stir for the rest of the flight. I guess now that she knows Cassian isn’t coming to rescue her, there is no point in all this fake retching, excessive tears, or whispered requests.

Maybe, she realized she is not winning this round.

The plane finally begins its slow descent, and the crew moves through the cabin, prepping for landing. The flight attendant who asked us to change seats passes by multiple times, her eyes darting between the three of us with a curiosity that she’s not very good at hiding.

I catch her whispering to another stewardess near the galley, their gazes landing on me, then towards Cassian, and finally moving to Reyna, slumped dramatically in her seat.

One of them mouths wife, and the other raises an eyebrow. The last thing I wanted was for us to be cast in a strange 277 inflight soap opera. The wheels touch down, and the flight

It’s fine, she can draw as many triangles as she wants, at least I’m not the one hiding my desperation behind crocodile tears and fake illnesses.

The airport customs line is crawling forward at a slow pace, when suddenly, a familiar voice shrieks my name.

Gemma!!

Before I can react, Zina comes barreling through the crowd, like a missile aimed straight at me.

She shoves Cassian aside with her hip, as if he’s nothing more than air, just to throw her arms around me.

What the hell are you doing here!!! Oh my God, can there really be such a wonderful coincidence?

I laugh under my breath as she loops her arm around my waist, nuzzling my neck like a cat marking her territory.

Cassian, caught off guard, takes a step back to avoid her elbow, and she pretends like she doesn’t notice. Even though it’s Zina, and we both know she does.

Finally, her gaze flicks to Reyna, and the claws come

Reyna? Still nursing, sweetheart? Do you need someone to hold your bottle for you?

Reyna stiffens behind us. I feel her bristle, but it’s Cassian who steps in for her.

Reyna’s just here for work, so it’s better if you don’t draw any conclusions to the contrary.

Zina scoffs, clearly irritated at being spoken to so rudely.

Oh, she’s working- in Nassau Islands, right at the time of your planned honeymoon? What are the odds! I mean, same resort, same flight, same timingbut it’s pure coincidence, I’m sure!

I try not to smirk. When she wants, Zina can be insufferable in the best way, and she has already moved on from Reyna before she can retort.

Anyway, since fate’s clearly playing favorites today, I have decided I’ll cancel my original reservation and book a stay at your hotel instead. You don’t mind, right babe?

Before I can answer, she pulls out her phone and says sweetly.

“ActuallyI just had an idea! Why don’t we make this lovely coincidence even better? I’m inviting Jace too, and it will be 4/7 just like our college trips. Only, much better since we don’t

I catch the drift and play along, but Cassian’s voice thunders out, making me worry for her sake.

Sounds like a pla-

Miss. Zina Patel!

He says in an icy whisper. Are you not familiar with the concept of a honeymoon? Who gave you the authority to invite. someone else on a private vacation for me and my wife-

I did.

I raise my chin, taking the brunt of his aggression.

If you can invite a third party on our private vacation without consulting me first, why can’t I do the same? At least Zina is letting you know well in advance, right? Or am I a secondrate citizen, that I have to follow a different set of rules than you?

Cassian is speechless for a moment, and meanwhile, Zina has already dialled his number.

Hey, Jace! Guess who I ran into on the first day of my vacation! Hell yes, it’s Gemma! I’m thinking, why don’t you pack your bags and join us too? Yeah, I’ll handle the hotel. Great! See you!

The shuttle ride to the resort feels more like a hostage van.

Cassian keeps glancing at me, while his fingers drum against his thigh like he’s holding in every word he wants to cuss out.

Meanwhile, Zina is scrolling through designer swimwear on her phone, loudly commenting on how great everyone would look better on my figure, and drowning me in mortification.

Reyna, for once, is silent, sulking behind her sunglasses.
