“Mischa… Do you really think Anthony will put Christy on birth control just to see you be the one to birth the true heir to the pack?” Carol asked her completely out of the blue as they walked towards the pack’s library to meet up with the other Bridge players in the packhouse,
Mischa turned and looked at her as they walked. “What are you talking about, Carol?” she frowned. “I’ve
not asked for that, don’t want that.”
“Oh!… Hasn’t Anthony brought that up with you… Sorry, I thought he would have or must have, seeing as
Paul told me last night, it’s what he wants. He and the boys sat and discussed your heat and what he
wanted for the pack last night in the Alpha Bar over drinks. That he wants your and his child to be born
first,” Carol told her.
Mischa rolled her eyes. “He’s gotta be there for something like that to happen first.”
“He’s here in the pack and your heat is due tomorrow,” Carol stated. “Paul also stated that this is what Anthony wants, and is going to be aiming for while tending your heat. Something about he has four days with you. Is hoping it will reconnect the two of you once more, and see that things will hopefully be better between the two of you after your heat.”
Mischa shook her head. “I think that’s just wishful thinking on his part, Carol. My heats always come in the middle of the night or at the crack of dawn, and if he comes to me directly from Christy, smelling of that bitch, I’ll simply deny him the right to tend to my heat. I do have those drugs Dana gave me to help me out.

Carol chuckled. “Not to mention those new toys we all went and bought.”
Mischa laughed herself now, “I’ve not tried them all yet, but I think that will be fun for me. I’m also not at the point where I want to give him a pup.” She shrugged. “Let Christy do it. The minute that bitch is knocked up, he’ll be obsessed with her, love the smell of her being pregnant; I hear it’s something all male
wolves like.”
“Mm, maybe he’ll be like Nicholas and barely leave her side.” Carol chuckled. “Lucinda’s always shoving him away from her when she’s pregnant.”
“That would be good for me, and Christy would love it. So, I guess a win, win,” Mischa snorted. “I don’t want him touching me, and she does.” She laughed softly. “Selena let that she–wolf get knocked up already.” She sent up a fake prayer to their Goddess.
“I don’t know if that will happen, with that birth control coming for her, though Paul did state something a bit odd about that very thing. Almost as if Antony was in two minds about putting Christy on birth control. Said he wanted her put on it, but then he was going to wait until the outcome of your heat was known, to make the decision.”
“What else is new, hedging his bets I guess.” Mischa shrugged.
This will be your first heat since Anthony demanded you stop your birth control, so… you’re probably more likely to conceive. I read that somewhere, something to do with our genealogy and delaying what our body wants. That being, we’re maternal creatures and you, as a Luna, would crave to be a mother. Have actively stopped–getting pregnant for 22 years now, so the minute you’re off birth control, your body will be ready to conceive a pup.”
“Hmm, I once did want a pup. I, however, still think Christy should give him that heir he seems to suddenly want…” She was quiet for a long moment and stopped walking as if in thought. For a full minute she stood there as if contemplating before speaking again, “You know Carol, he’s never wanted one with me until
now.
“Until after Christy turned up. We could have started our family a year before he met her realistically. The pack’s finances were stable then, yet he didn’t ask me to come off it… I think deep down it’s likely Christy that he actually wants to have pups with,
“But with all that happened on my last heat cycle, and is currently going on, he feels he has to be seen as placating me, or likely the Elders. Because he knows saving that bitch’s ass now will be easier if she’s pregnant, or holds the title of the mother to the heir to the pack.”
“I don’t know Mischa, I think you’re going to be out of luck, and Christy, after all she did, will actually see her be put on birth control and for many years like you were. I know for a fact they’re not sleeping together. I’ve seen her go to him or wait for him up there, and ask him to spend the night with her.
“Tell him she misses him. I’ve seen him look at her dismissively and state a flat out ‘no, not until after Mischa’s heat has been tended to.’ Then walk into the Alpha Suite, leaving her out in the hall fuming about it. Watched her ball her fists and stalk off and bang into her suite. He’s not looking to want to even risk a pup with that she–wolf before you’re pregnant, is what I see.
“I think you just don’t see it because you don’t want to or… aren’t interested in seeing it. Because you’re uncaring of anything to do with him. But we all see it, and I’m certain Christy sees it.”
“Yay.” Mischa muttered, as if she was unhappy about what she was hearing.
Carol chuckled softly and hugged her arm, nudged her on to walking once more, “You know Mischa, Alpha Luna bonds are strong and can weather some of the harshest things. This heat you’re due to have and can’t avoid having. Could see you two actually reconnect and bring you two back together. Four days of being in a room with him, you never know. You found him charming and sexy once.”
“It’s very unlikely, Carol, I don’t even want to be mated by him come my heat. I don’t even know how I will handle it to be honest with you,” she sighed, and it was heavy because that was the actual truth of the
matter.
They walked into the library and Letti and Rebecca were already waiting in the library for the Bridge tournament to start, as were the others in this room. This was a championship round between the final 12 teams. It was a fun thing they’d started doing with the others in the pack to entertain themselves when they’d been flat broke. There were 48 registered teams. She saw they were still waiting for three teams to
arrive.

“Huh?‘ Letti asked.
‘We had a tag along up on the first floor, Christy has been tracking me at every given opportunity on her breaks, and Carol opted to play her birth control hand today. Fopted to call her a bitch as much as possible in the hope she’d lose it and yell at me so I could ask her why she was following me, listening to my conversation. No such luck, she sucked it up and ignored my insults, Mischa stated.
‘She got it all, though,’ Carol stated, ‘When your heat is due, that be tomorrow. A reminder you’re not on birth control. Then I threw in Anthony wants her on birth control the minute Mischa’s heat is over. To stop her getting pregnant before Mischa does. Because he’s outright refusing to sleep with her prior to Mischa’s heat, and to top it off girls, Mischa stated that if he went to her room smelling like Christy, she’d rather suffer her heat alone than let him touch her.’
‘Well, that should be enough to push her into inducing her heat to keep him away from you, Mischa. See him go back to her finally. He can’t ignore her heat on purpose. That would see him be no different to how he treated you,” Rebecca commented.
‘Hmm, if that doesn’t work, then nothing will.‘ Mischa agreed.
‘Why is she haunting you?‘ Letti asked.
‘I think it’s so she can come across me while I’m in heat, smell the scent of my heat like she did last time, and use that as an excuse to put herself into heat once more.’ Mischa explained it to them. ‘I have also been making sure to keep a somewhat close proximity to her, because I also want that‘
But Mischa wasn’t so dumb as to actively walk along within hearing distance of Christy. She just tracked her pack tether and walked by her two or three times a day as if it couldn’t be avoided, allowing their meal times and breaks to coincide more than normal.
Her stopping to pretend to think about Anthony and his sudden wanting of a pup, only after Christy was here. That had been to see if Christy was actively listening to her and Carol. She’d orchestrated this bridge tournament to see her walk in the same direction as Debbie’s office, at the same time as Christy would be returning to attend Luna Lessons after her afternoon tea break.
What she’d learned was that Christy had stopped walking when they had. So, yes, she was listening to her and Carol’s conversation, so now she had all the knowledge both she and her unit, Paul even, wanted that girl to have.
It was now up to Christy to make the decision on what she was going to do with it. Would she hunger to pull Anthony away from her still? Self–induce her own heat once more, in order to enact that very thing? To try and stop Anthony from getting Misha pregnant? Even Carol’s words hadn’t been a lie, she’d stated it was her first heat after Anthony had demanded she stop birth control. Not that Mischa had actually stopped birth control. A slight misdirection that Christy would take as she was off it.

only concern for her right now. The way Anthony barely paid Christy any attention, that he wouldn’t cave into her and had stated he wouldn’t touch her until after Mischa’s heat.
She’d already told Paul he should link himself right to Christy to tell her that Mischa was in heat the moment it was detected, to state he was just following pack protocol to notify her of Anthony’s absence, to remind her not to interrupt for anything at all, or it would be seen as fully disrespectful, and punishment
would be dished out.
She smiled as everyone turned up, and their judges drew teams to play off against each other, and wrote them up on the board to, it was going to be a nice fun afternoon. It was anyone’s guess as to who would win. The prize this year was a full three–day long weekend at the Blue Lotus Spa, being pampered.
