OH 133
She’d found Christy standing up there on the top floor glaring down at her after several minutes, as she sat with her coffee in the foyer of the packhouse and waited for the inevitable show to start, though disappointingly, other than an annoyed, frustrated snart coming from up there, there was nothing else.
She’d been hoping, like Debbie, that girl would pitch a hell of a fit over not having access to the Luna Suite. Rant and rave and come down and blame her for it. It seems she’d thought better of it, now just stood up there, glaring down at her.
“Yes, Christy?” Mischa asked, looking up at her.
“What is going on?” Christy had asked right back. “I can’t access the Luna Suite”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about to be honest. I’ve not seen or spoken to your Mate in three days,” She shrugged. “I have no need to, if it’s not pack–related.” She reminded her of what she’d said in the Alpha’s Office. “I don’t speak to him about what he does where you are concerned. Not only is it not place too, I don’t want or need to know, I’ll correct that statement. I don’t even care as to what or why he does
anything with you,” Mischa told her openly.
“You’re not going to win him over this way,” Christy bit out. “When he finds out I’ve got no access to the Luna Suite, who’s he going to blame?”
Mischa laughed softly. “Oh, my dear, dear Christy. I’m not trying to win him over at all. I told you that you could have him; what? A month or more ago. Do you see me actually fighting for him? Trying to get his attention in any way at all?” She smiled up at her now, sipped her latte and stated. “I meant every word I said in that office… But if you like, I can leave the pack once more. Is that what you want?” she asked her,” Was it an enjoyable week for you? Would you like another or would you like a lifetime of me not being here
and him feeling it?
“As for who he will blame, it won’t be me. I did nothing to your access to the pack, but are you saying! did? I could have the elders investigate your accusation. I think you’d end up back on the shaming post before you could even shower and change.”
“They can’t save you if you did it.” Christy bit out.
r
“If I did it, you’d be right. But I didn’t do it. Think about it, Christy, use that withered up brain in your head. The last time I tried to change your access to anything, what was it I did? Hmm, tried to give you full and unhindered access to the Alpha Suite, because I told you to move in there, approved of it just being you and him, did I not.” She shrugged.
“So why would I take your Luna Suite away from you? I’m not angry at you, you’re just a narcissistic bitch, and I actually enjoy watching you plot and plan your every downfall. Because you can’t see past your own narcissistic desires to the bigger picture, and so also self–sabotage at the same time, because you don’t understand how I will respond in kind.
“But if you wish for me to take insult or offense to this line of questioning, I will. Best you link your Mate
and find out what is going on yourself. You’ve got more consequences than you can imagine coming for you. You’re just too short–sighted to see it, is all.
“Now you haven’t answered my question, do you want me to leave the pack? I’ll grant your wish and go live on the other side of the country, walk out that door right now, get my car and drive away. Just say the word, I wonder if you can handle all that follows”
“You’d actively cause him pain?” Christy frowned now.
“He actively caused me pain, did he not?” Mischa counted with a shrug. “You incited him to do so. Would you like to incite me into returning the favor?” She smiled. “I won’t even take offense to it, just up and go. That should solve all your problems… right!”
She watched Christy shove off that railing and walk away as her unit strolled into the foyer. She smiled at them. They’d have heard it all. Christy walking away wasn’t going to stop that, likely had there wolfen hearing switched on.
They were sitting chatting while playing bridge. When Anthony and his unit walked through the packhouse, they were all freshly showered and dressed. They’d come in the side door, where the mudroom was and not the front doors, which to her meant that Anthony was still avoiding Christy.
“Debbie released Christy just after ten. She’s angry up there on the Alpha Floor, something about can’t
access the Luna Suite.”
She moved her eyes to him, and he nodded. “I’ll go and deal with that.” Anthony stated and walked off,” That has nothing to do with you,” he added, then his footfall stopped. “Did she blame you for that?” he
asked.
“Questioned me about it. I took no offense,” she stated as she played her hand and Letti laughed as she
claimed the trick.
She watched his unit all sit down with their Mates, it was almost lunchtime. She continued to play her card game, until she heard angry yelling coming from upstairs as Christy learned what Anthony had done. Removed her from the Luna Suite himself.
All of them turned and looked up towards the Alpha Floor, as did several others in the packhouse moving about down here, kind of all came to a standstill at the sound of an argument brewing.
“I’m still your Mate,” had been the yelled words from Christy that had drawn everyone’s attention.
“I’m aware of that. However, seeing as you saw fit to harm my other bond, instead of being accepting of it, which shows you disregard everything a Luna stands for. You can’t reside in the Luna Suite until you correct your behavior.” She heard Anthony’s calmly spoken words.
“A Luna is the Alpha’s Mate.” Christy spat out at him.
“Hmm, that she can be, but where an Alpha has more than one Mate, he can designate which one is the reigning Luna to his pack. That is all I have done and nothing more, and seeing as you do not hold the title of Luna, as I took it from you. That I grant is now something only for Mischa to hold and retain. You can no
lenger side in a suite designated for a Luna.
“I have not removed you from the Alpha floor, have allocated you a room up here, picked one that I believe you’ll like. Seeing as all I heard in that meeting, I have come to understand what your intentions have been since the day you arrived. Come with me,” he stated, and she heard him stride away.
“You want everything that was once Mischa’s, so here. I grant you the room she moved into when she left
the Alpha Suite because of you seducing me in her and my bed. Now you also have something else that was hers, something I now know you do in fact want. Everything that was hers! This room was Mischa’s, so you should be happy in there, yes… If you don’t like it… You may voice it, in a way that is clear and
decisive. I will let you.” Anthony stated.
There was silence up there for a long moment and then Christy snapped, “You’ll regret that oath you made
with Harvey.”
“Will I? Or will it save my mate bond with Mischa in the long run? I’m not like you, plan only for the next moment. This…” there was a pause “is to set the future of this pack, and keep you in line. If it can’t do that, then you’re not worthy of being a Luna period.
That
“I want to actually see if you are or are not. No more can you elicit sympathy or my fear of losing you. is why I opted to do this. That is what this oath is for, because I now see it is what you in fact do. So, to protect the future of the pack, I made a deal with the most reserved and unyielding of the former Alphas in
the pack.
“Only he can undo the oath, not me. I can’t rescind it. If break this oath to please you, Harvey and May will retake the seat, that is the deal we struck. I will be unseated plain and simple, then you’ll have nothing to fight Mischa for, because the pack will be handed down to her, upon her getting that second Mate she asked for… because of what you’ve done to her and I,” he grated out.
“She is a fit Luna, can run this pack efficiently without me, without you, because you have done nothing at all in the entire time you have been here… I warned you not to come crying at me about anything. This is part of the consequences of not only what you just did. But for everything you’ve done since being here inside this pack.
“None here will address you as Luna Christy anymore. You are solely Christy until you change your ways or say something that you regret. Deal with it. You did this to us. We fight and argue now, as a result of all you’ve done. I suggest you get cleaned up and go and attend your Luna Lessons. Debbie has already told me you’ve not arrived as she told you to.”
“How can I go when I didn’t know where to go and clean up, was kicked out of my own suite and no one told me.” Christy bit out.
“I do believe there is a mud room you could have used… Got your own clothes down there too. You have a room now, that card you’ve got will access it. Learn to accept your place within this pack. That is the advice I, as your Alpha Mate, now give to you.”
She heard him striding away and then a door slamming shut and Mischa wondered if he meant all of that.
Or was the just up there saying it all out in the hallway instead of in private because he thought she was down here listening to them. So, it would show her he was trying to be responsible, and make it up to her. She watched his unit all get up as he came out of the elevator, though he didn’t come over to her, just walked away to the dining hall to get food as he always did after Alpha–Unit training. She motioned for the girls to go and eat with their Mates like they also would normally do.
It was only just after 11. She wasn’t hungry, had slept late and not had breakfast until after nine, so she was all good on that front. She packed up the cards and placed them in the box, placed it on the shelf below the coffee table they’d been sitting at and headed for her room to document this morning’s events. Interesting they had been.
