The Truth Comes to Light

He sat there in Mischa’s study and read that very first entry in the diary, of the very first moment of him being granted a second Goddess Gifted Mate and how she saw it and felt about it.
That she’d been completely shocked by him getting another Mate, 20 years after they’d been marked and mated. She’d heard him scent out that second Mate and watched as he just got up from the table without so much as a single pause, to go and hunt the she-wolf out.
That he’d not even thought to look at her and see how she and Laud felt about what was about to happen to their bond, he’d not taken them or their feelings into account at all. She’d watched him hunt her out and then had to brace herself to be hit with pains of betrayal.
Right there in that room filled with their allied Alphas, because he’d not cared to even so much as hesitate in wanting to touch Christy the moment he was face to face with her. Yet again, he did not take her or Laud into consideration, only what he felt and wanted mattered to him, when he should have thought about her, his first Mate.
She had been relieved when no pains of betrayal had come at his touching of Christy’s face. She’d also understood it was the will of the Goddess, and so she accepted it in that moment; accepted that he now had two Mates, she’d been unhappy about it, and felt most would be, and had accepted it because she knew he wasn’t about to reject Christy.
She’d been annoyed that he’d not even taken into consideration anything she may have felt at all upon seeing her Mate scent out another. Annoyed that he just announced it to everyone, before even having the common curtesy of introducing his newly scented Mate out to her or getting to know her.
She’d sat and watched him that night, and understood that he didn’t care at all about how she felt about him getting a second mate, that only what he felt and thought mattered, what he wanted was going to happen, and she would have no say in anything about it, just shown her how very selfish he actually was deep down inside.
That he’d also just shown to all their allies that he didn’t actually take her feelings into consideration, that it was rude and very inconsiderate of not only him to her, but of Shade to Laud. That he’d shown her his Luna of two decades full disrespect, and what he’d done was insulting to her and Laud
She’d watched Christy’s reaction to meeting her, and seen her act threatened for no reason at all, she thought he’d also see through it, that he wasn’t stupid enough to fall for such a blatant act of Christy’s deceptive behavior, and right there she’d known Christy was going to be trouble.
She saw her right away as a scheming she-wolf playing the innocent act, that she’d shown her true colors in that first moment, that she’d not liked Mischa from the moment of realizing he already had a Mate, and wanted to portray herself as fearful of her, to lay ground work for her schemes whatever they may be.
But at the same time, she’d thought that she would be able to handle anything that Christy did, because she was calm and rational, the complete opposite to Christy herself. There was even a note about Alpha Nicholas making a comment to her on what he thought of Anthony’s new second Mate, that she appeared to be filled with she-wolf jealousy and that was never a good thing. He’d been through that himself, and he didn’t think it would end well if Anthony didn’t see through her schemes.

He leaned back in that seat as he realized what he’d done to her from the very first moment of scenting out Christy. He’d not even considered that she would have reservations or arc up over it, because they lived by the will of the Goddess.
But right now, reading it from her point of view, all she’d felt and seen was that he’d not even cared to take her into consideration, it was he now realized very disrespectful, and he’d done that as she’d written it, in front of their allied packs of which he’d left her with, to go and hunt Christy.
He didn’t even know what they’d said to her about everything they’d seen going on either, but he could now weil imagine it wasn’t just Nicholas that had spoken to her about what he’d seen. It appeared that right from the very day he’d gotten Christy as a second Mate, he’d started disrespecting Mischa. Only taking into account what he wanted, thinking, no not thinking, he knew she would just accept it all.
If this was how she documented things, he was going to get the full accounts of everything that had gone on over the course of their mate bond. She’d written what had happened, how she felt and what she expected him to do, only he’d not done what she’d thought.
He’d not seen through Christy’s scheming that day, though he did recall frowning at her when she’d been fearful of Mischa and putting her in her place. Though that had only worked until she’d run away from him, and then he’d needed to go after her.
He had done so and when he’d caught up with her, she’d been crying and shaking her head, tried to pull away from him, told him she wasn’t worthy of him; had already insulted his first Mate and Luna. She’d backed away from him a step and told him she’d really not meant to. She’d honestly been afraid, because in her home pack, the Alpha’s first Luna had killed Alpha’s second Mate the first chance she’d gotten, but up until that moment had acted all nice and kind, accepting of her it was all a lie.
He’d known something like that would embed fear into one, and he’d reassured her he’d always protect her. And she’d looked up at him with hopeful eyes rimmed with tears, and he’d touched her face and promised her he’d always make her feel safe and protected. Then he’d kissed her softly, and they’d gone from that one kiss to marking and mating.
He turned the page and read the day after and the discussion on how their mate bond was going to be worked out. Everything he’d stated was written there, word for word, the entire conversation, his trying to be fair to them both. They’d all agreed that Christy would get her own suite, seeing as Mischa and Christy weren’t mated to each other.
That they agreed to never go into the other’s suite, that Christy had straight up tried to get herself four nights a week with him and reduce Mischa to three nights a week right then and there. He’d not seen it that way, but Mischa had seen it for what it was. Christy trying from day one to have more of his attention.
He read on and, in the beginning, he could see he’d tried to keep things fair and equal and Christy was always complaining softly, tearfully that she felt Mischa spent more time with him. And as he sat there and read the entries as the days passed, he started to see for himself, the way Christy had slowly but surely claimed more and more of his time.
How she had pulled him away from Mischa bit by bit. It started with her complaining about Sundays, and she had three in one month and so got less time with him.
That was when he’d first really started to spend more time with Christy. Mischa documented that nothing she said could sway him, and he got to read their conversations and see she was right in her thoughts, that not even reminding him that in the grand scheme of things it didn’t matter.

That, with them alternating days over the course of a full year, it would work out even. She told him she didn’t count the days of the week, or days in a month, like Christy was doing just to get her way, and he’d told her to just bear with it and given in to Christy and given her every Saturday and Mischa every Sunday.
The week started on a Monday, and she’d been relegated to Sunday, Tuesday and Thursdays, because Saturday was always Christy’s day, so she got Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Christy had finally gotten her four days a week, and two of them in a row every Friday and Saturday with him. He’d again told Mischa to just let it be, she was just that she was feeling insecure and that had been the beginning of their alternating day’s downfall.
Every conversation ended after just eight months into Christy being a part of their bond, with him telling Mischa to just bear with it, or that Christy was feeling insecure, that she felt he loved Mischa more, so he just needed to spend a little more time with Christy that day.
