The Eclipsed Life of Luna Mischa (by Jennifer Francis) novel Chapter 199

CH 199

Anthony

He sat staring at that diary, and after all he’d read in it, did he want to continue to read the other two? He’d spent hours now seeing her pain and heartache start to grow, all laid out before him in that diary in black, blue and green, undeniable and inescapable for him.

He’d never seen it in person, because she’d never yelled and screamed at him, never pitched a fit about what Christy was doing, never cried and begged or pleaded with him, the way Christy did just to gain his

attention.

She wasn’t the type of person to do that, because she was of the opinion he had a right to choose who he wanted to spend his time with, because it was him that had two Mates; not her. She wasn’t going to try and pull him away from his other Mate, that was what the first diary showed him.

That she’d not only tried to accept it, but had actually accepted it, she’d understood it wasn’t her place to tell him who and when to spend his time with, even when it was hurting her, when he’d pulled away from her and started spending more and more time with Christy.

When she’d approached him about things between herself, him and Christy, she’d done it in a way that was calm, rational and logical, been completely reasonable with him. She’d not once tried to make him feel guilty about spending more time with Christy.

That last entry of her first diary had stated, “How can I make him choose? Even when I want to make him… I know it’s not my place too. He has two Mates, and it is his right to be with whichever one of us he wants to be at any given moment. As much as it hurts both Laud and I, that he’s spending more and more time with Christy with every day that passes.

“I will not be like her, stoop to her schemes and stop him from spending time with his other mate. I can only hope that bearing with it, as he asks, will not be years of bearing with it, but I fear it will be longer than he tells me it will be.

“I can only hope that he’ll not just listen to me, but that he’ll actually hear me and see he is abandoning us, letting go of our mate bond bit by bit, in favor of his new Mate That, instead of brushing off what! say and just telling me that we live long lives, everything will work out in time. He’ll feel it, realize it, that we’re falling apart because of Christy and fix it, come back to us.”

It was two years post that entry, and it had not worked itself out at all… he’d continued to tell her that, and done even more damage to their mate bond, by, as she stated, abandoning her and Laud little by little until he had abandoned them completely.

He pushed that diary across the desk after closing it and looked at the second one, knew what was in it was likely going to be worse than the first one. She’d still be living in the Alpha Suite in that first diary, but this one, for the second year of his bond with Christy, was the year she’d moved out of the Alpha Suite, at what she stated was his order for her to get out of it.

His hand shook as he reached for it. He was already partially hollowed out right now, but he didn’t think it was anything compared to how Mischa had felt over those years. He’d only just felt the real pain of her leaving him. When she’d been feeling it since day one, three years she’d felt their bond being slowly torn apart.

He opened that diary and started to read, that first log was an entry on it being his and Christy’s mate Bond anniversary and that he’d taken her out for the entire day. They’d gone shopping and had lunch and dinner out in the city and she’d gotten to see all of it on the pack’s social media page, how he’d lavished Christy with thousands of dollars of jewelry and clothes, handbags, and they’d eaten in the most expensive restaurants and that he’d filled her suite with flowers and chocolates, her favorite sweets.

That Mischa, as the pack’s accountant, had gotten every purchase notification of not only his Alpha Card but Christy’s Luna Card as well. That she’d been tagged by Christy in that social media post as well. There was a screenshot of it printed out and pasted into that diary, ‘Mischa, look at how much our Mate spoils me, isn’t it wonderful to be mated to such a loving and caring Mate.’ to the pack it wouldn’t read so bad. It was actually seen as Christy praising him for being a loving Mate to both of them.

But for Mischa, she’d seen it as Christy just rubbing in her face, that Anthony spoiled her, gave her everything she wanted, and that he was only a loving and caring Mate to Christy. This was the first time Mischa had put something in the diary as proof that Christy wasn’t accepting of the three-way mate bond.

He closed his eyes, he’d read in that first diary about his and Mischa’s anniversary, a single bunch of flowers, a simple dinner in the private dining room here in the packhouse, and then a few hours of sex. That was it. The difference between how he treated them was vast and Christy had seen that and made

sure Mischa understood it as well.

He wondered if this was the turning point? Had Christy waited a year before really starting to plot and plan to see him leave Mischa. She’d not interfered in his and Mischa’s mate bond anniversary or him being with Mischa on her birthday, which he knew was no differently celebrated than their anniversary had been. Just him giving her a bunch of flowers and having dinner with her, nothing more.

He turned the pages and read on, saw from Mischa’s point of view how Christy had manipulated him into cutting ties with Mischa in the human world and stating Christy was his fiancée. How he’d not even told her he was going to do that. That she had come into the knowledge of it by overhearing pack members talking about it.

Then she’d seen pictures of him and Christy in the human entertainment columns and his words had been recorded for all to see and he was unable to take them back, how he’d relegated her to nothing himself, uncaring of what she might feel about it, he again only cared about himself and Christy in that moment.

She’d been furious with him for the first time and confronted him about it, and in this diary it was documented that he’d stated “What can I do, Mischa, I have two Mates, I can’t let her be seen as a mistress when she is my second Mate and Luna, that is not fair to her.”

She’d felt betrayed in that moment as she’d stood before him wanting him to explain it to her, have Christy explain to her why she’d gone into the city, when they’d agreed she wouldn’t be seen with him until it was agreed upon by the three of them.

How Christy had stood just behind him out of his line of sight, one hand clinging onto his jacket sleeve, a slight smile on her face for Mischa to see, but he’d not, one that to Mischa belied triumph on Christy’s part. But then just rninutes into her trying to get her point across Christy had sobbed, and his attention had been taken from Mischa and drawn to Christy

As she’d pleaded with them to not argue, she even bowed her head a little and stated, “I didn’t mean for that to happen, Tone. I just went shopping and saw you. Forgot for a moment is all, it was an accident.”

How he’d patted Christy’s hand and nodded, stated, “Some things couldn’t be helped.” Mischa had walked

away at that point, knew it was a losing battle, Christy had gotten her way, set it all up, she believed, even down to those reporters being there to see them together to force his hand into stating he and Mischa

were separated, because although she’d told him she’d been out shopping, that photo of them had been outside his head office, and there were no shopping bags with Christy, it was staged as far as Mischa was concerned.

He sat there reading everything from Mischa’s point of view and that picture of them from the newspaper was pasted there for him to see. Seeing what she saw with Christy, he could now actually see that it had all been orchestrated, and he’d just not seen it, dismissed it as a coincidence. Pushed Mischa aside for Christy, by Christy’s plotting and planning.

He felt pain radiate through his chest as he realized all he’d missed over the years, all the times he’d ignored Mischa’s calm rationality for Christy’s tears.

Then he turned the page and saw handwriting that was more furious scrawl than neat and calmly written and knew something bad was about to be read. He took a breath In and made himself read it, it was the moment she’d left him for the first time. The day and event of her finding him and Christy having sex in the Alpha Suite, in his and Mischa’s bed.

She’d walked in and seen it and lost it, yelled for the first time at him, her anger on the surface for all she’d gone through, finally boiled over at what she was seeing. The she-wolf she hated, having sex with her Mate in her own bed. He’d broken the one and only promise she’d asked him to keep, regarding their three-way mate bond.

He had rolled his aura at her, both him and Shade; they’d ordered her to get out of her own bedroom. She’d seen Christy smiling at her from beneath him; a knowingly triumphant smile that she’d once again managed to get what she wanted; Mischa seeing them in her bed, a place she wasn’t allowed.

She’d taken his order and turned it against him. She and Laud had, had enough. Made the decision right then and there to never again grace the Alpha Suite/She had documented each day after that, that he’d not even known she’d moved out, until he’d gone looking for her, many days later, and then she’d documented his expression when he realized the truth; complete shock is what it was.

He’d not known she’d left him at all. Had thought she was just angry and nothing more had been sleeping in with Christy all that time, proving he didn’t care yet again for what he’d done to Mischa, he used her being rightfully angry to just spend more times with Christy and Christy over those days had smiled smugly at Misha every time she’d walked past her.

He really had failed her in so many ways, and this entry was just two months in for that second year. As he read on and turned page after page, he saw it all starting to really fall apart after that. The first moment when he’d gotten up and left her bed to go back to Christy and had not returned.

All the nights he did that. It was once a week at first, then twice a week and then nearly every time, he got to read how she felt about it, how she lay in her bed by herself all alone and cried when he left her to be with another. How she held those tears in until after he was gone. How her heart twisted and squeezed inside her chest, when she asked him not to go, and his response to her was always that he’d come back,

but never did.

He read the moment she just rolled away from him and didn’t ask at all, finally gave up and didn’t say anything because she knew he was going to go, knew there was no point in asking him to stay because he would not. That very day, when she didn’t say anything to him, he’d stopped and looked at her, then he’d thanked her for being understanding and left her there alone.

She’d even heard the smile in his voice, knew he was happy about it and didn’t even know her heart was being slowly painfully torn apart by him and his lack of care and love. Then there was hardly anything. Her days passed quietly. He didn’t try to speak with her or come to her, would smile at her in passing and talk to her about pack-related things. She started to feel like nothing to him but just the pack’s lead

accountant.
