He would do anything she wanted! That was almost laughable to her, because he wouldn’t, and she could prove that with just two very simply spoken words, and so she voiced them as her way to prove right here, and now that he wouldn’t in fact to do anything to stop her from lashing him herself.

“Reject Christy.” She stated, staring right at him.

“I… I.” he sighed and shook his head. “Anything but that,” he implored her.

“Again, your word to me is no good.” She shook her head. “Just one more time you choose her over me.” She looked to Ray after 20 more seconds of Anthony not saying anything. “I will accept this and lash him with a cat of silver barbs five times.” she stated

“Mischa, it could break our bond.” Anthony latched onto her. “Don’t do this, I’m so very sorry.”

“I don’t believe you. I want to hurt you like you did me, like she did me.” She looked right at him as she spoke, “I’ll never forgive you unless I can hurt you in return, show you what it feels like to have your own Mate turn a blind eye to your pain and suffering. This is the only way I know how to do that.”

She watched him stagger back from her, shaking his head no at her as if he couldn’t grasp the gravity of it all, didn’t want to believe she could do this to him.

“You want to keep me, yes, not reject me. Have me stay here and remain as your Luna?” she asked him.

“Yes, of course I do,” he stated.

“Then, if I am to stay here, to make sure you never do this to me again, you must accept the punishment that the Elders deem appropriate.” She told him simply. “Deal with this or reject me here and now. Though

I will stay even rejected to watch you both be punished by the Elders before I leave. There will be no

stopping me. You’ll be on that shaming post when I pack and walk away.”

“You hate me,” he murmured, and she saw his hand clutching at his own chest. That was real pain she was

now seeing, as he felt it the pain of their very broken bond hitting him, like it did her all the time.

“Maybe, I don’t really know to be honest how I feel about you anymore. Currently… indifferent is what I am.“” She shrugged. “Accept the punishment or reject me,” she voiced.

“You’ll stay and not leave if I accept it. You promise me that right, swear to our Goddess, you won’t leave me, never reject me.” He was before her clutching at her hands, and she watched his wolf Shade push forward. “Sorry mate, we very selfish.” He told her.

“Yes you are.” She stated simply, though Laud didn’t push forward to look at him or respond to him, and she knew that was what Shade was looking for. To connect with her wolfen counterpart, their wolves‘ bonds to each other was usually stronger than the human one, because humans did stupid things and

were selfish creatures at times.

“She won’t come forward to see you,” Mischa stated, “Laud is unhappy, but you should be able to feel that,

always know what she feels yet…” she left it unsaid and pulled her hands from his and heard Shade whine in sadness, and then recede away.

Anthony was left looking at her, and he turned away from her as his eyes turned glassy “I accept the verdict, of punishment to be dished out. When will it happen?” he asked, and there was a hollowness to his voice she’d honestly never heard before.

“Tomorrow morning at 9am, Christy will spend the night in the cells, for leaving this room and not staying to hear her punishment,” Ray stated and sat back down.

Elder Simone stood, “One thing has not been covered. Christy must remain in custody until Luna Mischa makes her final decision about Luna Christy’s banishment and being marked as a traitor. Alpha Anthony, you will have until 9am tomorrow to sway your very offended and upset Mate. If she does not make a decision by then, we will make it as was stated.”

He was quiet for a long time. “Christy could well be pregnant.” He murmured.

“Hence the cat of three tails and not five,” Simone stated, “We took that into account, and an heir from a wolf considered a traitor, would never be allowed to be given the title of heir either.”

That piqued her interest and would likely tick Christy off as well, though she didn’t need a new target on her back. She also didn’t think a pup would come from the heat Christy had induced; she’d been hurt pretty badly from over mating.

“I’ll not have her banished or marked as a traitor on one condition,” Mischa commented and everyone in the room turned and looked at her, including Anthony. She saw just a glimmer of hope in his eyes. “If she

is pregnant from this heat, that pup can never be claimed as a true pack heir, only ever be of warrior rank.”

She watched Anthony sigh and close his eyes, but then nod slowly. “I agree to that condition… No, I’ll do

what should be done to prove my loyalty to you, Mischa. If there is a pup, it will not be born, it will be

destroyed by the pack doctor.

“This is my punishment for her, as the Alpha, who is also your Mate, not solely hers, who is very angry

about what she set into motion. To show her I am loyal to you, and I will walk her myself to the cells, be

put in the cells myself by the Elders and tomorrow I will tell her in the presence of the pack of my decision,

that I will never tolerate her doing this again.

“It is the only lenience she will be given by me. There will be no second chance, only a rejection of our

mate bond and a death sentence will await her, if she ever dares to try and set you up again like this.”

Shade pushed forward, “That death sentence will be by my hand, Mate. I, your Alpha Wolf, swear this to be the truth. My human will not override this. I swear to you, I will do this or the Goddess may rip me from my human and deem me unworthy to be reborn. Leaving my human wolf–less.” He bowed his head to her and then receded away.

She looked at Anthony, and he simply nodded. “My beast will do this, and I will not fight him. One leniency granted is all Christy will get. My word to you, you may not feel is good right now, but do not doubt my beast’s loyalty to you and Laud. It is I that am at fault, not him.”

Claim

She nodded, though she didn’t believe that either, because of the lack of communication and affection that went between Laud and Shade. But she also knew that what his wolf had just stated, it was not a small thing. To use their Goddess in his vow, it was likely their Goddess or her wolf would hear it or know about it, and would in fact do as he’d stated.

Shade was making not only himself but his human accountable to their Goddess. She thought about his statement for a long quiet few minutes and decided that his beast could be believed. “Accepted.” She finally nodded.

She walked from that meeting with the Alpha Unit and the Elders, right behind Anthony, who walked in front and on his own, not because he was the Alpha but because he was now considered at fault and would be a prisoner, so his unit couldn’t walk with him.

Christy was standing outside the front of the packhouse, struggling against the two that were holding onto her, and she looked right to Anthony with a tearfully pleading look. “I wasn’t running away, why do you hold me like this?” Christy asked him. “I would never leave you am your Luna… I just needed a moment to clear my head and understand what was happening in that room is all.” she shook her head at him.

“I hope it is clear now, because what you set off into motion is fully punishable, and you will be getting punished to the full extent of pack laws. Not only by the Elders but myself as well. Mischa is also my Luna and, as her Mate and Alpha, I too, will dish out a deserved punishment as this pack would expect. As you would expect, I dish out if this was reversed right,” he put to her.

“It was a mistake only, I’m sorry, Tone.” She shook her head ‘no‘.

“I will also be taking punishment; the Elders agree that both you and I are to blame. Be thankful Misha is kind and generous. She has granted you leniency and, instead of having you marked a traitor, rejected by me and banished from this pack, out into the wilds of rogue territory. She has, after some deliberations,

agreed to allow you to stay here in the pack and stay as my Mate.”

Christy’s eyes moved to hers now. “She can’t make you reject me.” Christy murmured.

“Actually, for this crime, not only can she, the Elders can, are an Alphas and Lunas and can hold me and

you down and force the words from me, force an acceptance from you, before the entire pack, after laying

out why it’s been done. Your crime is not so little, and I aided you in it. So yes, they can. Could, in fact,

unseat me and banish me along with you and give the pack directly to Mischa alone.”

She saw Christy’s eyes go very wide at this knowledge and, once again, it amazed Mischa how that she–wolf didn’t know the basic pack laws for all packs. Had yet to really come to the realization that what

she’d done was, in fact, an act of treason, she didn’t think. Still believed blindly that Anthony would save

her at every turn.

“I have already pleaded with the elders, with Mischa on your behalf, complain no more, or I’ll be forced to reject you, and you’ll be marked as a traitor and banished to a rogue, never allowed to set foot inside this

pack ever again,” Anthony stated flatly.

Christy turned to look at her and there was anger there now, because she was finally coming to

understand the reality of what she’d done and ath that she was going to lose for it. Her place and title here inside this pack, and it was no one’s fault but her own.

“If you speak one angry word, I will rescind my leniency, and you’ll leave this pack after you take full pack punishment as is deemed appropriate by the pack’s elders.” Mischa stated, “I’d think very carefully if I were you” she added when Christy turned back to Anthony once more, and she knew Christy was going to ask him to take on her punishment, play the could be pregnant card.

“He’s already taken back the five lashes for the blatant disrespect you showed to him, and in doing so. He had to take them on himself, and they are to be dished out with a cat of five tails, at my hand… if you ask him to rescind all of your punishment, he’ll have to take it all on himself, with a silver bard cat of five tails, become scarred for life; at your request his second Luna and dealt out by me, his first Luna because you requested him to take on your punishment.” Mischa stated, giving that she–wolf food for thought.
