The Eclipsed Life of Luna Mischa (by Jennifer Francis) novel Chapter 33

It was a quiet morning after that, and Mischa only set foot outside the packhouse when Kendrick walked into the Luna’s office and stated, Mischa, it’s timeare you sure that you want to do this yourselfI could do it.”

It’s fine, Kendrick. She stated as she looked to him. I can handle it,she told him, and she could, unfortunately. She knew herself well enough to know she was actually going to be able to get through this, something none should ever do to their own Mate.

Because even now, she still wanted to hurt him, and it wasn’t just for what had happened, him neglecting her on purpose. It was for the way he allowed noshe thought wantedshe believed, was the correct wording, for Christy to eclipse her position here as his Mate and Luna.

She understood all too well, that he only wanted to keep her here as his Mate and Luna solely to manage the pack’s funding and wealth. She was she knew nothing more to him than a Luna on paper anymore. He’d made himself abundantly clear in who he would sleep with, protect and love completely, and it wasn’t her.

After this, she would give him exactly what he wanted. She’d only be his Luna on paper. Christy could maintain the pack and its members now, and she’d manage its funds only. Let’s just see if Christy was Luna material.

No more would Mischa step in and clean up after him, when he lavished Christy with expensive gives or didn’t try to contain the shewolf’s spending. When the pack fell back into the red and started amounting more debt, she’d just shrug it off and say it wasn’t me. Make some comment about I told you not to spend money like it grows on trees.

Mischa found all the elders out the front of the packhouse once more, waiting for her. Dereck was just arriving with the Cat of five tails, and she saw Christy glare at her You’re completely heartless, no Mate should ever cause harm to their Mate.

Yet you had Anthony do that, didn’t youBegged Anthony to stay with you, knowing it would cause me harm at his abandoning me. Destroying our bond, started with your words to Anthony himself. You encouraged him to cause me pain and sufferingand on purpose,” Mischa stated.

II did not.Christy stammered.

The elders believe you did and so do I. Even Anthony now sees it was your doing as welldon’t put this on me, Christy, because in the endyou’re getting what you want, aren’t you. Our bond, mine and Anthony’s, is now broken and that was your intent all along.

Trying to rip us apart so that you can have him all to yourself. Well, guess what, you got your wish. Let’s just see how long it is before you get him to reject me, and it will only come at his hand. I promised him I wouldn’t reject him,

But go ahead and continue your pitiful, I’m insecure, you only love Mischa act, and have him reject me to prove he loves you. Which I believe is your true end game, I’ll wait for it, and you can deal with the fallout from it, once he realizes the truth. She stated what she believed

this shewolf’s real intentions were.

But in doing so, she was also letting Christy know at the same time that the rejection would have to come from Anthony himself.

It’s notChristy gasped. Even now, you’re plotting against me, and all to have Anthony reject me, everyone will see the truth, that this is all your doing, Mischa, not mine.”

Mischa nodded slowly. I guess we will see, won’t we.

Then she turned to Anthony. I’m here to deal you five lashes with the cat of five tails, are you ready? She asked, taking that Cat from Dereck.

Yes.Anthony nodded, though he didn’t look at her.

She could see that his back was already healed from the previous lashes dished out this morning, though he still had a few reddened areas on his back. She tested the weight of the

Cat. It was different to that of the Cat of three tails.

It appeared to be made of stronger leather and those silver barbs weighted the ends of it. Kendrick stepped up to her, It’s a little different to swing, it has the same principle, but you need to arc it, and lash in a downward motion, shoulder to hip, or you could miss the intended target and the backlash will be an over shoot, and you’ll actually strike yourself as it whips around.

You should also not stop the lash once it’s in motion and allow it to hit the ground to stop the force and avoid the backlash again. Rinse it in water after each lash,” Kendrick told her, and then proceeded to show her how to use it. He stood right behind her and took her free hand and actually imitated the move. Don’t hesitate once you start the arc, or you’ll take damage yourself. He told her, It’s why all heirs are trained in punishment and interrogation.

She nodded again and then stepped up to where Kendrick told her to stand to deal out those lashes. He really was a good Beta to do all of this. She wondered if her thought Anthony deserved his punishment or was it just that she was now in charge, and he was her Beta until Anthony was removed from this shaming post.

She knew he was loyal to the pack. Yes, he was there as the Alpha’s Unit, but he was actually fully committed and loyal to the entire pack. She’d seen him get angry and pissed off about

pack members being harmed by other packs. He took his job seriously, she thought, just like the entire unit did.

She swung that cat like she had been instructed to and tore only halfway down into Anthony’s back before the barbs got stuck. Anthony gasped in pain as he tried to bear it. Kendrick stepped over and pulled the barbs out that were stuck in Anthony one at a time, then turned to her, More effort is needed, Mischa. You’ll have to put all your wolfen strength into it, or those barbs will get stuck like that each and every time.

She nodded and wondered which was worse; a full complete strike or a strike that saw the barbs dig in until they couldn’t be pulled down over his body and had to be removed by hand?

The second hit came and Laud put her strength to it, and still two of those barbs got hooked into his skin and Kendrick placed a hand over hers on the handle and yanked it down and away, and those barbs tore through Anthony’s skin with his strength.

It takes time to learn this, it is a skill to be perfected over time. Bear with it, Mischa, you’ll get the hang of it and, if you like, I can teach you how even after this, so if there is a next time, you’ll have no issues in using it.

She nodded, Probably a good idea,” she stated, and thought it would be. Everything you

have, Laud.’ She told her wolf hold nothing back.’

She felt Laud stand up inside her mind and shake herself out, then felt her push forward so the two of them were on the surface and her wolf’s true power and strength rolled through her body, and together they swung, and that Cat ripped Anthony from shoulder to hip without stopping or getting stuck.

The next two lashes were smooth, and she stood there looking at his tornup back as Laud

receded to her mind once more. She knew silver scarred. Even when those wounds healed over, there would be scar tissue left as a permanent reminder of her doing this to him. Every time he saw them or touched them when showering or dressing, he would be reminded that she had done this to him; willingly so.

That she’d wanted to punish him, and now she had, but there was no pleasure in it for her. He simply deserved it, he’d had the opportunity to retract it, give back Christy those five lashes, and he hadn’t done so. Just wanted to reduce Christy’s punishment, and she wondered as she handed that Cat off to Kendrick, if Anthony thought she’d opt to rescind them at the last

minute.

She would not. It was simple to her. She’d answered him honestly yesterday when he’d stated, You hate me.She didn’t believe it was that she actually truly, fully hated him, not at this point anyway,

but she did understand that it was she was now indifferent to him, her Alpha Mate of 22 years, because he had slowly but surely allowed himself to become

indifferent towards her.

Until it was all she saw, he only cared about Christy, so why should she continue to care about him and their bond? She loved this pack, the people that lived here. She’d grown up here and had been happy watching it grow and flourish as they’d overcome the struggles and burden of getting it out of debt and creating a pack worthy of being proud of.

But now it just felt to her that the moment they’d achieved that Christy had come in and eclipsed everything. She was nothing, just one to be pushed into the background and not be seen, her job here for him, was done. That Christy was put before her and by Anthony, he wanted Christy to shine bright like the moon while Mischa became hidden by her shadow.

She saw him turn to look at her and turned and walked away from him before his eyes could meet hers. He could feel how it felt to have a Mate that was uncaring and didn’t concern themselves with how they felt. Let him see how he handled it, being ignored at every turn and to not have her even try to interact with him.

To have him see her smile and be all happy with her social group, or his unit’s Mates and completely ignore him for someone else. That every time he tried to speak with her, she’d allow not only any pack member to interrupt them, by putting a hand up to him to stop him from speaking, but then walking off with them as if he didn’t matter.

That what that pack member wanted of her was more important than what he wanted to speak with her about. Because that was what he always did with her, when Chrisy suddenly appeared and interrupted them, took his attention away from her, and they walked off together smiling and laughing happy in their mate bond.

She was going to return it tenfold and one day, he’d learn where he went wrong. Though she doubted very much that he’d know it was coming until it was far too late to stop it. Hell, he probably wouldn’t even know it had happened for weeks or months on end, brush it off at first and see that he coud come back to it later, only there wouldn’t be a later.
