The Eclipsed Life of Luna Mischa (by Jennifer Francis) novel Chapter 44

Anthony, she knew, was about to try and spend the night with her, though it wasn’t going to happen as he was trying to plan it out. She knew because her personal omega Anne had mindlinked to her about him wanting to set up flowers in her suite.

But then, at the same time, she had sounded a little confused, because when he’d been

discussing it with her, Anne had told her he’d been standing outside her old suite down near

the Alpha Suite, telling her where he wanted certain things to be inside that suite,

Anne murmured questioningly Luna, does he not know you’ve changed suites?

Mischa had shaken her head and stated, ‘Probably not Anne. Let him set it up in there, if that’s where he thinks I am, and doesn’t know I’ve moved rooms, that is completely on him. He’s got a pack tether and been off that shaming post for four days now.

Not to mention the time of Christy’s recovery and through the investigation, he’s had plenty of time to figure it out. He also knows I won’t stay anywhere that he’s taken Christy into. I made that plainly clear the other day. So if he hasn’t realized he can’t smell me at all down that end of the packhouse, or tugged on my pack tether even once at night to see where I am. That’s also on him.’

Anne had just sighed on the heavy side and then gone and done as she was asked by her Alpha in the room he thought she was living in. Set it up with a romantic feel to it, she could well imagine. She did recall that once upon a time he used to do that for their mate bond anniversary, rose petals from the pack’s garden on the bed and a bath filled with her favorite essential oil, handmade chocolates by the pack chef and soft music playing. He’d been loving and sweet for many years and proved romance didn’t cost a fortune, everything came from within the pack. She’d loved it all because she knew he meant it, gone out of his way to

organize it.

Now who the hell knew? Mischa returned to her suite and sat and waited for it to dawn on

him that she didn’t live in that suite anymore. She wondered if he didn’t bother to look in the empty closet or realized the room didn’t smell like her at all.

It was just after nine when he finally connected himself to her via a mindlink, Mish, when are you turning in for the night?he asked almost casually, and she thought he was trying not to give anything he’d done away.

I have turned in for the night. She answered him in the same casual manner. Do you need something?she asked in return.

Umshe heard the hesitation in him now, and knew that was because he was down there in

that room, and didn’t understand her comment, I’m in your suite, and you’re not in here.he finally spoke.

No, you’re not.She stated quite simply, I think I’d know if you were in my suiteOh, wait, I guess you didn’t know. I moved out of that suite I used to reside in across from Dereck’s suite. Directly after my heat was over. Had all my things moved out of it that very day.

I never returned to it, too many bad memories of pain and suffering in thereYou also took Christy in there, so I guess it’s now also your and Christy’s suite. That would make what three suites she now has right.’

There was just silence at his end, and she knew he did not know how to react to her words. He certainly couldn’t get angry with her for moving rooms. Not when those bad memories and all her pain and suffering were tied to him. She’d also made a point of telling him this week, she’d never stay in a suite he took Christy into.

As for him not knowing she’d moved? That was also completely on him, because what Mate didn’t know where their Mate slept on any given night of the week. He couldn’t put it down to being on that shaming post, she’d just informed him of when she’d moved. Many days before he was put on that.

She patiently waited for his response to come, about what she’d stated, and it was Where exactly are you?

Shouldn’t you know that? Where your Luna sleeps?she asked in return. Something you probably should have asked about weeks ago, after coming out of the Alpha Suite when Christy’s heat was over, butyou were only concerned with Christy’s injuries, not what I suffered, huh?

Mish I’m sorry.He murmured.

Yes, you keep saying that, while your lack of knowledge just continues to prove my point now, doesn’t it. What Alpha in their right mind, doesn’t know where his Luna lives?she put to him, Why are you even in that room down there?she asked.

I was trying to set up a romantic night for us, but now I see you even had Anne deceive me, the Alpha to this pack.’ he muttered, sounding very unhappy.

She did not. Did you specifically tell her to set things up inside my suite or were you outside that room when discussing it?she asked right back.

Again, that quiet from him, I was outside your suite or what I thought was your suite, when I discussed it with her.he sounded annoyed to her now.

Hmm, don’t blame her, Anne answers to me, Anthony, so don’t go punishing her for not

relaying I had moved. I asked all that knew, not to impart it before Christy’s heat was even over. To see if you’d even realized I’d moved. Your own Unit is aware I have moved suites as well. I guess you never thought to ask even one of them if I was okay or where I was at night.’ She sighed a little as she sat there.

Where are you?he muttered.

If you can’t feel me, something must be wrong with you, or there’s no bond at all on your end

now, is there? She stated and severed the link to him.

She felt it a moment later. He was pulling on her pack tether and then was making his way through the packhouse as he tracked it to her. She was keeping track of him and knew the moment he found the room she now resided in.

She was sitting on the lounge and didn’t bother to get up and walk over there; open the door. She was allowing him to come to the full realization that she was in a suite with a very different locking mechanism. All the other rooms had swipe card access. This one had a pin code to be punched into it. An added safety feature for the Wolfen Council members.

On any normal given day, it was set to four zeros, so the omegas could come in here and dust or clean. It was only changed when the room was in use and the Council member was the one that changed it, and zeroed it out when leaving the pack.

Anthony was out there for several minutes, and Mischa wondered if he was trying to guess the code to open the door or now out there pitching a fit about being locked out of her suite. All Lunas moved out when they were mad. She was no exception to the rule.

Mischa, you changed the code.He stated down the mindlink.

Yes and don’t ask for it, I’ll not be giving it to you ever. She answered.

I’m not only your Mate, Mischa. I’m also the Alpha to this pack.he bit out more than annoyed by this turn of events.

‘Yes, you are both of those, but you’re also Christy’s Mate and, well, with your track record of ignoring my one and only wish, that being of not taking Christy into my suite. I won’t be giving it to you, because if I do, at some point she’ll have you do that, now won’t she!she told him, ignoring his anger over her, his Mate and Luna actually daring to keep him locked out of her

suite.

I said I wouldn’t be doing that again.He muttered.

Yes, and I’ve heard that before, your word is no good. I found that out the hard way, by seeing you fucking that other Mate of yours on my bed, and then, well, didn’t you bring her into the suite I moved into after I moved out of the Alpha Suite as well. During my heat no less.

So, you do the math, clearly she will get the code out of you, or have you bring her in here just to look around and, wellshe trailed off. It’s very clear, Anthony, she’s got you wrapped around her finger, so you giving her what she wants to stop those crocodile tears, means you’ll eventually bring her in here.

If you recall, it was agreed upon by all three of us that Christy and I would have completely separate suites, and that neither Christy nor I would go into the other’s room, yet she wanted that, and you gave it to her, did you not?she pointed out.

I’ve apologized for that.Anthony muttered, How long are you going to hold it over my head?

Hmm, until I’m not mad about it anymore, I suppose. She stated and heard her own

amusement.

Open the door, Mischa. He muttered a moment later.

What for?she asked in return.

So we can talk about this properly.’

We are discussing it properly. I already told you, we’ll be waiting to see what happens when Christy gets out of the cells. So, I’m not letting you in here. Not until I see you can do as you say with Christy around.

You’re making this more difficult than it needs to be, Anthony muttered, and she could actually hear the unhappy note in his voice.

Yes, I am.She admitted, Because now the shoe is on the other foot, so to speak. Don’t like it much, do you? When your Mate that you want to spend time with doesn’t want that in return. Not a very nice feeling, is it now?she stated simply.

Mischa.He sighed.

Get used to it, like I had to. 11 months now, Anthony, I had to feel what you’re only now just beginning to feel. It gets worse just so you know. Let’s see how you like feeling what I have been dealing with feeling. Not having your Mate there to comfort you and sleep by your side every night. Or even every other night as it should have been. As per the agreement we had after you scented out Christy, but then never stuck to.

If you had, this wouldn’t be happening right now, because I would never have felt neglected, lonely orrejected by you, I guess you could say. It won’t be fun for you, that much I do know. Being alone in a Mate Bond is not normal, and it hurts.’
