“You know Anthony is supposed to come out here and sort this out tomorrow,” Paul stated.
“Let him, let’s see what he comes up with and who he brings out here to discuss it,” she answered. She was willing to bet it was just going to be Christy, and she had a feeling that she–wolf was going to find a way to distract him, and then it wouldn’t get done at all. Leaving her the option of throwing herself into the canyon once more if it was necessary.
They walked casually back to the packhouse along the canyon itself, talking about the type of path that could be used, where it should actually go, the distance the fence and path should be from the edge of the canyon. They all knew that the walls sometimes crumbled, so that would have to be taken into account for post hole placement.
But using the farm–style fencing could also see them save some dollars. They would have to cut down a few of the trees along the canyon, and so they could turn them into not only posts but the rungs as well, instead of having to purchase them. They might not even need to purchase anything other than for the actual observation decks.
”
It was a nice walk for her out in the cold night air, and even though both Allen and Paul were wearing jeans and sweaters, she was only wearing jeans and a tee–shirt. She was looking at the canyon down here at the lowest edge of the cliff wall. It was only about two storeys up. “ Maybe…” Mischa murmured. “We could build like a ramp that winds down and into the canyon. That would see the teens be able to take their dirt bikes or mountain bikes down
there.”
“Hmm, I’d make it wide enough for quad bikes too. Some of the teens hoon around on them and a quad rescue bike would be a good option for getting down here and the transporting of fall victims up and out too.” Allen nodded. “I’ll add that to the future planning of what I’m going to call Teen Canyon Grounds.” He chuckled.
Mischa smiled. “Named it already I see.”
“If I’m designing it, then I get to name it.” Allen nodded. “I might come up with something better than that yet, we’ll see,” he smiled.
They all headed back to the packhouse, their night work done for now. She was happy with how it had gone. Carol had not minded giving Paul to her for a few hours of work. Allen was Debbie’s Mate, and she’d waved him off to go and do what he loved doing.
Mischa didn’t have to answer to anyone, her Mate did not care where she was at this hour of night, and that Canyon was a good one–hour walk north of the packhouse. And the very far reaches of it was only a mile from the northernmost border. She could have been leaving him

Which just showed her he hadn’t kept track of her at all, was likely all hot and heavy with Christy in her suite. She bid both Paul and Allen good night as they walked into the packhouse, and made her way to her suite, as she realized the perfect time to leave Anthony would be during the middle of the night, when he was in his suite with Christy.
Which to her was a time and place where she no longer existed for him. She’d be long gone before he knew it. All she had to do was time it to say one hour after he turned in, that would see them be naked and hot and heavy, and it would get passed him. She’d have all night to drive casually away.
She could be states away before he even got out of bed in the morning, she shook her head, and reminded herself ‘not yet.’ She had to see what Christy would do, and she also needed to sort out if she could reduce her heat or stop it. Plans she would see to fruition before walking away.
She walked into her suite and kind of came to a standstill. There was no more if I walk away in her thoughts it was just when I walk away, she realized. ‘Laud?‘ she asked.
‘He deserves it, we go when that she–wolf gets her comeuppance. I no stop you.’ Laud stated, ‘I no want heat with him anymore either. See Dr Dana, that’s important.’
Mischa nodded, ‘Alright, only stay until such a time as Christy gets what she deserves.‘
As she walked into her bedroom, she saw her phone was flashing in the docking station to indicate she had a missed call or message; she’d not bothered to take it with her on the walk. Anyone inside this pack could mind–link to her, so there was no need.
She walked over and picked it up, put in the pin and found there was a message there from Alpha Nicholas, waiting for her. She opened it curiously, maybe Lucinda had gone into labour early. That would be some nice news to hear, though normally that would come from Lucinda herself.
“Mischa, just a heads–up, Anthony is ticked off. He heard what I said to you and called me, to tell me to stay out of what goes on between you two. I told him to pull his head out of his ass, or he could consider the pack alliance over. That he could go find another legal firm to deal with all his business contracts. But then I added on a merry note, I’ll still do legal work with you, even with the alliance terminated.”
She sighed and shook her head, looked at the time the message was received nearly four hours ago. That was odd to her. He’d already been turned in for the night with Christy. Though she wondered if he’d been stewing on it since hearing her conversation with Nicholas when he’d gotten home.

Ticked off… perhaps that was why he’d also told Paul he’d attend to the safety fence issue tomorrow between his training sessions. Did he think he was punishing her by not seeing her? Anything was possible. If he was angry about what he’d heard, maybe he was trying to make her angry in return.
It wouldn’t get him the desired reaction, if that was the case. She texted back, “Sorry Nicholas, I was out in the pack, phone in the packhouse. Christy fell into the pack’s canyon yesterday and I, the pack planner and Paul were out looking at ways to make it safer. As for Anthony, I’d say he’s just pissed off that you and I get along so well.
“We’re still at odds, and well, I had words today that wouldn’t sit well with him, I guess you could say. My apologies that his anger was directed at you over his own insecurities… Does the pack alliance still stand? … That part is not clear in your message,” she added at the end.
She needed clarification on that, though realistically, if Nicholas had severed ties with Anthony, the entire unit should have been informed by now, and Paul would have told her himself and she would have gone and demanded an explanation from him herself, likely with his own unit there right behind her.
They’d been allies for a very long time and there was no reason for it to be severed. There were no attacks from Nicholas to them, no attacks from them to any of Nicholas‘ allies that they weren’t allied to. So explain he would have to, considering Nicholas was their strongest defending allied Alpha as well. Only a fool would kill a pack alliance with the Rising Blue Lotus over nothing.
She shook her head and let it go. She would find out tomorrow she supposed and likely from Nicholas. She had a feeling Anthony wasn’t going to bring this up to her at all. She wouldn’t bring it up and see what Anthony did with it. Surely he had to know Nicholas would contact her about what he’d done.
If Anthony tried to hide it from her, that was him just being childish, and that call was made out of jealousy or just anger over hearing the words of her leaving him. Something he thought he’d managed to stop being said by his mind–link to the pack.
Whatever it was that ticked him off, he’d clearly gone too far, and Nicholas she could well imagine, knowing his temperament, would have just listened quietly to Anthony’s rant, or she could only guess it was an angry rant, by the wording of that message from Nicholas. Then he’d likely just laid it out for Anthony how he saw things. That he didn’t think Anthony deserved Mischa and that he clearly favored Christy, who Nicholas thought was nothing but trouble and out to ruin their mate bond.
Then he would have calmly stated that he’d accept the severing of their pack alliance. But then probably smiled as he’d informed him, he’d still be willing to deal with any business to do with herself. She also knew Nicholas would send out to his allies that he’d cut ties with

this pack, or Anthony, but was still friends with Mischa, and would defend her but not Anthony if war came. He was loyal to those that deserved it in his eyes. She would also get that e–mail herself if that was the case, and it would likely be the first thing he did when walking into his office in the morning.
So she would wait and see, because she also knew Anthony wouldn’t get that e–mail himself, so she could print it out and stalk off to wherever he was and put it in front of him and demand an explanation from him, regardless of who was around. The pack would likely be horrified that Anthony had ticked off the Alpha from the Rising Blue Lotus.
She was damned certain the Elders would be. She shook her head, showered and climbed into her bed. Only time would tell on that one. Either she’d get an e–mail or a text from Nicholas in the morning. Either way, Anthony had some explaining to do.
