She knew Anthony was ticked off with her as Nicholas had stated he was, because unlike the past weeks when he’d been mind–linking to her first thing in the morning when he woke up, on their days that were supposed to be spent together, this morning he did not do that. Just got himself up at 5am and went off to Alpha Unit training as he would normally do.
She woke at 7am and made her own breakfast, before opening her laptop and accessing her emails. Only to see that there was an e–mail from Dr. Dana Reed waiting for her. She checked when it had been received to her inbox; 6am this morning.
‘Hi, Luna Mischa,
I think you could find this research article helpful, not only for yourself, but with a view to talking to and counseling of and or watching out for signs from your two she–wolves that have one mate in the future. I suggest you print it out and give all three of them a copy of the research
article to read for themselves.
Dr Dana Reed, Obsidian Pack.‘
Mischa sat there with her morning coffee and read through it. It laid out the way a she–wolf could feel or not feel; have a clear disconnection from her wolfen Mate. The signs to look out
for if one wouldn’t admit to having that disconnection. And she could see how many she–wolves had participated in this particular research across how many different packs as well. It was written there.
There weren’t all that many, only 100, and there was a note attached to that number that stated not many that suffered wanted to participate even though they admitted they were one of the statistics.
It also documented the finality of mate bonds. Out of those 100, 25% of them had ended up rejecting their Mate due to them having to suffer a heat alone a second time. There was a list of reasons as to why that rejection came about. One of them was that their own Mate had told them he’d never let them suffer like that again, yet they had.
Another reason had 15 she–wolves ticking the same box; their Mate had told them it was best only one suffered through not being mated. He didn’t want both his Mates to have to feel that
particular thing.
The note attached to that, stated the male’s reasoning for this came from the disconnection he felt from the one he’d already let suffer alone. That he didn’t want his second unaffected
Mate to feel that disconnection to him as their first Mate did.
She sighed heavily and shook her head. It was very clear to her, that the male was just trying
Claim
to save his Mate Bond, with his second Mate, because he’d already ruined the one with the first Mate. Selfish is what it was, and this was the highest rated reason as to why a rejection
was issued.
This decision by that male wolf, just saw that he chose; for the one that had already suffered through the agony of not being mated through her heat, to have to suffer it always. Something their own Mate who was supposed to love and cherish them, now actively chose for them to suffer. It was a fully informed choice on his part.
This left that she–wolf knowing it would always be them that suffered. It was cruel and harmful to them, so what was the point in being in a mate bond where one’s own Mate would never come and tend to their heat?
That was the one thing that saw the majority of mate bonds being ended. That decision, made by their own Mate, meant their bond wasn’t just fragile or broken, it was a full abandonment and betrayal of their mate bond on their Mate’s part. So the only thing left to them was a rejection.
Sometimes this rejection was accepted by the she–wolf’s Mate and other times it was not, so it was forced upon them by their own Alpha or Luna, who saw that the one that was suffering was truly abandoned, and therefore should be released back to Selena to find a better life and
a new Mate.
Then there was another 25% of those she–wolves stayed mated to their Mate and sort out revenge for themselves. Allowing another male within the pack to mate them through their heat, uncaring of the fact it would create pains of betrayal for their Mate.
Or that his other Mate who was in heat and being mated by their shared Mate, would also be injured during this, his suffering of the pains of betrayal, which could start while he was actually mating his other mate, and would cause him to tear into not only himself but his other Mate at the sudden pain.
The follow–on from this was that the second Mate then also had to suffer not being mated through her bouts of heat due to their shared Mate yanking himself from his Mate as he suffered the pains of betrayal. For each bout, that first Mate was letting another male mate them through it. There was a note attached to that stating sometimes it was organized by the Alpha or Luna of the pack to help that she–wolf not have to feel the pains of not being mated through her heat. That, though, depended on each individual pack.
The other 50% of she–wolves handled it if they knew it wasn’t completely intentional, and it didn’t happen again. They could with time, forgive a one–off incident that came out of nowhere, but they also never forgot that it had happened and so it took time for them to be able not to fear it would happen again, a year or more, sometimes several years, to not fear a heat coming on.
Claim
That also depended on many factors; if there was real regret, true heart–felt apologies and not just from their Mate, but their Mate’s other Mate as well. If that Mate’s other Mate was willing to suffer through not being mated if it happened again, shared the cost of the pain, so to speak, which some would, and then those two she–wolves kind of connected and grew a
better bond between themselves.
This also proved that it wasn’t intentional and that there was real love and care between the three–way mate bond, and no one wanted it to happen again, so a bond like this could be seen to bring about all three of them in one suite, and the male could have both his Mates in his bed at the same time during a heat given time that was because all three of them were looking to find ways to see none suffer that kind of pain again. That was considered the best
outcome.
Though there was, it showed 3% of she–wolves, unfortunately, took drastic measures and ruined all chances of them ever getting pregnant. It was written that they tore themselves apart, gutting themselves and causing so much damage that they rendered themselves infertile, which effectively stopped them from going into heat. Therefore, they would never have to suffer through a heat alone ever again.
Mischa sighed as she put that article on the table before her. It was very informative, all the statistics of the she–wolves just like herself now. She also already knew which category she fitted into as well. Because she already knew that Anthony would never let Christy suffer through what she had.
She was also half way there to being in that 3% that took drastic measures as well. Because although she hadn’t gutted herself, she did not want to go into heat, did not want to give Anthony an heir to this pack. She leaned back in her seat and wondered about that 3%. What should be done about it? Could she find herself a part of the 3% by the time this was all over? No, she didn’t want that for herself and neither did Laud. They did want to have a pup somewhere down the line, she realized as they thought about it. It didn’t have to be now, but
later on it would be nice.
She walked outside and onto her balcony. It was even more important to her now she realized to work with Dr. Dana, to help not only herself but other she–wolves, hell all otherworldly creatures to not become one in the 3% or even 25% statistic. There had to be a better way than to just let this kind of thing go on.
She understood that, seeing as she was in the know about having to suffer it again, and was actually willing to do so, due to wanting to see what Christy was going to do with her going into heat, and Anthony’s so–called wanting Mischa to produce the heir to the pack.
She realized she was likely a good candidate herself to be involved in any further research on this particular circumstance. She was going to willingly offer herself up to be part of any
Claim
research projects that might be happening or were being organized for the future. She had a feeling from the way that the research paper was written there was a need for more participants and more research was going to be done as well.
She returned to her desk and to e–mail Dr. Dana back:
‘Dr. Dana,
If there is a current or view to a new research project on this topic about to start. Any form of study, my affected she–wolf is willing to be a part of that project, though only the affected
she–wolf not the other in the mate bond and not the male between them either.
She will also willingly allow for her rank to be shared in that research. It was noted that only 10% of the she–wolves allowed for that, the other 90% didn’t want that known. My she–wolf believes her rank could help to see others come forward.
We can discuss this in person, and I’ll bring all the relevant information with me, about that three–way mate bond, and all that has transpired since the original event. I also have an idea that could see that 3% become non–existent if it can be achieved.
Luna Mischa.’
Who knew maybe her own circumstances, being a Luna and letting other she–wolves know this, it could help them to come forward. For all she knew, what was happening to her was also happening to other Lunas or ranked members that didn’t think it was right, or their Mate didn’t think they should tell others what was happening to them.
Show their ranked member of a Mate in a bad light, but if there was anything she could do, to help those like herself come forward, maybe it was just a matter of seeing one Luna admit who she was, that she to suffered the same thing, and that would see others allow their rank to be acknowledged, and show to their world that not all Lunas or ranked members got the happy hunky–dory lives most pack members thought they did.
If just one of them admitted it and came forward, maybe that would see others do so as well. Maybe they could all be enlisted to help find a way to reduce or stop their own heats, which would help all others of all ranks to stop suffering like she was. No true Luna wanted others to suffer, certainly not something like that.
She would hold nothing back from her conversation with Dr. Dana when she was in Obsidian
in a few weeks‘ time.
