The Eclipsed Life of Luna Mischa (by Jennifer Francis) novel Chapter 85

CH 85

The meeting went well and even with the delay of Anthony and Christy, they’d arrived 10 minutes prior to the appointment. Much was discussed and agreed upon for both sides of this new venture for both their businesses, and then they agreed to meet again once the contracts were drawn up, something Ms Latrell stated she’d let Mischa’s lawyer do.

Then, Ms Latrell offered to come to Mischa’s office for that, seeing she’d come to her for this one. I’d like to see just where you work, how the place treats you since your divorce. I have a predominantly femalestaffed company, mostly divorcees at that, or those trying to get a divorce. I’m trying to give those women a place in the world when their arrogant or rich husbands think they’ll not be able to survive without them. Tell them that all smugly.

That is a very good thing for one to do. Paid your own husband back in turn, I see by doing this very thing.” Mischa chuckled softly.

That I did. Though to be honest with you, and I’ll give you my apologies now, but I wanted to do business with you for two reasons. One, you’re good at what you do, and secondly, to get an in with your lawyer, Nicholas Frost, and his new legal division, I hear he’s branched out into

divorce law.”

He has,Mischa nodded, and I’m not offended in the slightest. He’s good at what he does,

and I’ll have him come to that meeting in person, line up a meeting for you afterward if you like. He and I get along famously, and if I can bring about a legal partnership between you two for him,” she smiled now That will just strengthen our business relationship as well. You couldn’t get an appointment with him?she asked curiously.

No, he’s only just opened it and, so far, my secretary has been told their new and only handling their own state’s divorce cases at this point, still getting their foothold. I’ve been declined at this point. She sighed. I can’t even get word to him that it’ll not just be one case

but dozens.”

Mischa smiled. “I’ll have him there and speak with him on your behalf to see if he’s interested. Bring a list of the women that need his company’s expertise and the husband’s names and wealth status as well. I can’t guarantee he’ll accept anything, but I’m certain he’ll listen. I also don’t think he’s in charge of that specific legal division, just a branch out for his company.

Yes, I did hear that. Thank you for the assistance in advance.

Mischa smiled, shook her hand and walked from the office, Drumming up business for the Rising Blue Lotus now too.Letti chuckled softly.

Wouldn’t be the first time,Mischa nodded. Let’s go and have lunch,” She could email Nicholas later with the details of a possible new venture for his company. Even if he didn’t accept it, he would likely stop and listen, weigh up the pros and cons, speak with whoever was in charge of that new division about why they’d rejected even the opportunity to hear Ms.

Latrell’s offer.

I booked us into the company’s steakhouse for lunch,” Letti smiled at her.

They’d not long been seated by the maître dand had just ordered their drinks and food when she looked up at the sound of Anthony’s voice. Well, isn’t this a nice surprise! I wasn’t expecting to see you here at the company for lunch. May the boys and I join you, Mischa?he asked.

She’d thought he’d stayed in the pack, hadn’t bothered to keep track of him at all, she heard Kendrick tell the waiter to pull another table over so he could sit and have lunch with his wife, before she could even respond.

Though this was a packowned restaurant, half of the staff in here were humans, the other half were from the pack. She watched as a table was brought over and Rebecca moved over one place, so Kendrick could sit next to Letti and Rebecca could sit next to Dereck. Which left

Anthony a seat right next to her on her right where the tables joined together.

I thought you’d opted not to come into the city at all,” she commented. When I left you were

headed back inside.

No,he shook his head. I had a meeting to attend myself,” he told her.

Where is Christy?she asked.

I don’t know.He shrugged. Left of her own accord before the boys and I did.

She nodded, it seemed she had no choice but to have lunch with Anthony. He was sitting right next to her, and both Letti and Rebecca gave her apologetic looks, which didn’t go unnoticed by Anthony, who frowned at their looks.

Not many inside a pack would do that. When their Alpha sat down at a table next to his Luna, it would actually be expected of him to sit there like he was now. She was also pretty certain that he understood why not only the look but what it was for was well.

Letti and Rebecca, Carol when around, didn’t socialise with Christy. They had, in the beginning, tried to get along with her, because she was Anthony’s second Mate. But Christy had ditched them as much as she ditched her Luna’s duties. Christy hadn’t bonded properly with the Luna’s unit as one should.

It was plainly clear to all here that the look they’d give her was one of we didn’t ask him to

come or tell him where we were, and we’re sorry he turned up. Mischa just nodded to them

with a shrug. She didn’t blame them. It wasn’t their fault.

Anthony, Kendrick and Dereck told the waiter what they wanted to eat without even looking at the menu, and she understood that meant they ate here often enough to know what was on the menu. Though this restaurant was on the ground floor of their head office building so probably where they ate lunch on a regular basis. They could have simply felt their Mates were all close by or guessed they’d eat here. Though for all she knew, Anthony could have tracked and trailed her from the meeting she’d had.

She’d not seen either Letti or Rebecca call or message either of their Mates about where they were having lunch. Though Letti had told her she’d booked the restaurant, which meant the manager here could have told Anthony she was here to have lunch with the girls. Any number of reasons could have seen them know they were here.

But it bugged her, so she asked directly. How’d you know we were here?

Coincidence is all,Anthony replied simply. But seeing as we’re all here, perhaps a photo of us all together eating out for the town page.He kept it to human terms with all the humans

in here.

It’s not our day, so you’d best not.She said, I’m certain that will upset Christy.

Why?he frowned. Or do you simply not want the town to see us getting along anymore?he asked right back.

A part of her wanted to ask what the point of all this was, when she already knew what was going to happen. But she had to remind herself that he didn’t know what Christy had really done that day. What she suspected Christy was going to do again.

Do as you please,” she opted for by way of answer.

Dereck got up and took a photo with Anthony’s phone and her smile was practiced, not real. He didn’t seem to notice, but she watched him post it and the location and tagged it A lunch date with Mischa in the city.

They were just being served their meal 20 minutes later when Christy walked into the restaurant with some of her friends, and she looked about, spotted them and then walked over to the table and stood before them all. “Tone, you didn’t tell me you were going to be

free for lunch.

I’m not free for lunch with you,” Anthony responded as he looked at Christy.

Mischa picked up some of those girls she were with were human, and others were shewolves from another pack. Oh, it’s business then.Christy stated, and then looked to

Mischa, Afternoon Mischa, how are you?

Christy.Mischa greeted her simply. She understood by the way Christy had walked in here and looked about instantly that she had tracked Anthony down, probably from his post and brought not only wolves with her but humans, to make Anthony act as if he was only hers. That she was doing what she always did, putting herself right before Anthony when Mischa was next to him. Only now he couldn’t ignore her or reprimand her due to those humans she’d walked in with.

Go and have lunch with your friends, Christy. They are all waiting on you,Anthony told her.

Alright.Christy chirped happily and leaned down to kiss him right in front of Mischa.

Mischa rolled her eyes and shook her head, turned to her meal. It was of no consequence to her what that shewolf did. Those other shewolves with Christy, would know Mischa’s was Anthony’s other Mate, be able to not only pick up Mischa’s pack scent but her rank as Luna

as well.

That Christy was in fact playing it up, and those human women? Who knew what they thought! She didn’t know who they were or what families they came from. She did see Anthony turn his face, so Christy’s lips hit his cheek only, and then he motioned for her to walk away from the table, which she did.

Laud picked up one of those girls over there, stating, Isn’t that your fiancés exwife at the

table with him?

Mm, it is,” Christy answered. Don’t worry about it, I’m not concerned, I know Tone loves me

and I trust him.

Mischa could likely screw that up for the girl and easily so, because she had a feeling that if she wanted to kiss Anthony here and now, he probably wouldn’t stop her. Then she dismissed her own thoughts a moment later, and not because she didn’t want to put that girl in her place, but because it wouldn’t be a good for the human world business. Something she had just brought a new venture into today, and she didn’t want that ruined before it was signed and sealed officially.

So, she would not do anything to ruin that, wouldn’t stoop to Christy’s level, of kissing her Mate in public, before his other Mate, just to put them in their place. Though then another part of her wondered if she thought Mischa would do that to get back at her and Christy could play the human card of the upset betrayed fiancée.

She wouldn’t put it past her, and of course Christy would be able to get away with it, likely to see Anthony get up and walk out of this restaurant after grabbing onto Christy herself. Even him reprimanding Christy in private could have her state I had to do that, act that way for the

humans. If I don’t, they’ll think something is off.
