Saturday was a working day for her and even though it was her and Anthony’s day as per his going back to the original agreement, he had couples training and breakfast with Christy to make up for lost time on Sunday with her as per his new design plan to keep the weekends
fair.
She’d spent several hours last night researching ways to prevent a heat, and not just in the wolfen realm, but in all otherworldly realms, regardless of what creature it was, and there was some not so proven research on imbued items that one could wear to reduce the heat
cycle.
She’d fired off that research article to Dr. Dana Reed and written a note asking if she could clarify or validate the research article and, if so, maybe this was a good option for she–wolves that had one mate between them that saw heats come at the same time.
She’d taken the opportunity to sleep in this morning, seeing as she’d not gone to bed until after 2am, she’d gotten out of bed until eight and dressed for the day before strolling downstairs at her own pace. She was still a little tired, but she arrived at her office right on nine. She wasn’t concerned about Anthony popping into her office. It was his day off and a work day for her.
Saturdays for her weren’t all that busy, being the end of the week, unless there were pups being born, that was. She spent Saturdays going through the Luna’s request book for the pack, scheduling things the pack members wanted to come and see her about the following week, then going over the pack’s accounts, that payroll report that had been generated at the end of yesterday, seeing as 80% of the pack worked Monday to Friday. She’d sorted it to generate reports from Saturday to Friday.
She was sitting drinking coffee when Allen strolled into her office after a single knock on her office door. He smiled at her “Morning Mischa, I’ve finally completed the plans for the canyon.”
She chuckled at his wording. “Finally?” she asked. “Worked overtime on, you mean.”
“Yep, it was fun for me,” he nodded. “I just finished mocking up the plans for the ramp access, and now you can look at it. If you like, I can call Anthony in for a proper meeting about it. I know it’s his day off, but I also know it’s a you and him day, and with it also being a working day for you.
“I don’t see why he wouldn’t come and spend some time with you, even if it’s work–related. Just be a good reason for him to be with you during your working hours.”

“I’m free now, if you want to call a meeting, Allen.” She nodded, the packs safety had to come
first.
Allen connected himself not only with Anthony but herself as well, ‘I’d like a pack safety planning meeting to be held now.’ Allen informed Anthony.
‘In regards to?‘ Anthony asked right back.
‘The pack canyon, Allen stated, ‘Mischa is free to attend it right now. I’m in her office. I’d like to do this on one of her work days, not her weekend. She works more hours than even you do Anthony.‘
‘I’m aware of how much she works. Get that report every Monday on my desk. I’m not objecting to the meeting. Just asking what it was for,” Anthony responded, though he sounded a little annoyed. ‘If it’s for the canyon safety, Luna Christy should be in this meeting as well, to give her personal thoughts, seeing she was the one to be injured by falling into it.’
‘I’m aware, I don’t object to Christy being in this meeting, just asking if you had time to attend it was all.’ Allen stated right back.
Mischa had to hold in the laughter that was trying to escape her. She understood exactly what Allen was doing, returning in kind Anthony’s annoyance, though she was certain that both Allen and Anthony could likely feel her amusement at their interaction.
‘Mischa?‘ Allen asked.
‘I’m good to have a meeting, though in the Alpha’s office.‘ She answered simply and dropped herself from the mind–link, as did Allen a moment later.
He shook his head. “His words were uncalled–for.”
Mischa shrugged and stood up. “I know, it’s just his annoyance showing that you, a former Alpha, are trying to tell him to do something, and he knows it needs to be done, but he’s not yet done anything, about the very thing you’re bringing up, probably thinks your telling him he’s lacking in this area. Likely also annoyed that you’ve gone a head and done things without his permission even,”
“I had yours, I don’t need his.” Allen shrugged, “Besides, if he was really going to do something about it, he’d have started doing something about it the afternoon after the accident, or gone out to that canyon with all of us and Christy the moment she was released from hospital and discussed it, not take her out shopping.” Allen rolled his eyes.
“You were on the ball when he dropped it, this will show him that, and he’ll have no one to blame bar himself. I’ll lay it out for him where he lacked if need be. As an Alpha, I understand the importance of pack safety and, for that of my Luna as well, though admittedly, this is the

first time I’ve ever heard of a Luna falling into that canyon, none over 17 have ever fallen into it.” He shook his head.
Mischa smiled and nodded. “I’m aware,” she said, and Allen looked at her and burst out laughing, which made her laugh too. They walked through the connecting door into the Alpha’s office, so Christy wouldn’t be in her office, and sat and chatted casually between
themselves when Debbie strolled into the office and sat down as well.
Mischa raised an eyebrow at her questioningly and Debbie smiled at her. “All formalized meetings with you and Christy alongside Anthony are to be monitored.” She stated simply. “By me.”
Mischa nodded. “Okay.” She’d not heard about that, she could only guess other things were moving in the shadows of the pack, it seemed, and by the Elders at that. She wasn’t going to arc up at it.
It took a further five minutes before Anthony walked into his office with Christy, and she was on his arm, smiling away, though that smile faulted the moment she saw Debbie sitting there on the couch next to Allen, and she removed her hand from Anthony’s arm.
Anthony glanced at his arm and frowned when he saw Christy take a step away from him, as she looked at those in his office. He sighed and sat down, motioned for Christy to sit next to him and she shook her head.
“It’s your day with Mischa, you should sit next to her, not me,” Christy stated and went and sat in a single chair.
“It’s a meeting in working hours, so it’s fine, Christy,” Anthony told her, and Christy looked at Debbie once again and then shook her head once more.
It silently implied she had to follow Debbie’s orders, not Anthony’s, and made Anthony frown deeply, but he said nothing. There were two Elders in this office, and he was answerable to them if they saw something they didn’t like go between himself and his two Mates.
“I’ve not decided on what to do yet, about the canyon. I’ve had other pressing matters arise and be brought to my full attention this week. That I feel are actually more important.” He looked right at Mischa, and she knew he was talking about what she’d stated to him in the library.
He then turned and looked at Christy. “Have you looked at the previous planning for the canyon’s safety like I asked you to?”
“Yes,” Christy answered him.
“Then tell us what you think is the best option. It was you that got injured, so your opinion on

this must be taken into account.” Anthony smiled at her.

“The chain fence is, I believe, a good cost–effective idea. I think it will see anyone running be caught by it and trip over before falling into the canyon.” Christy smiled. “It’s a good option.”
“Only for those not moving at full wolfen speed,” Allen commented. “Who would tumble and roll and still end up in the canyon. I, as the pack planner, have been out to the canyon with Luna Mischa and the pack’s Gamma, to discuss it in full, and we’ve, I believe, come up with a proper sound long–term solution.”
Anthony frowned at her now. “When did this happen? I know nothing about that.”
“The night after Christy’s accident. I thought it was of the utmost importance, the safety of your Luna. I did offer to do so, for you to know something was being done while you were in the hospital with Christy, but you snapped at me that you would do it.
“You didn’t go and do it though, even when Christy was out of the hospital, so I did, as the Luna went and saw to it. Because I didn’t want Christy coming to harm by falling into it again, the sooner it was discussed, and a plan made, the sooner it could be actioned.” She told him.
“As for the meeting being held that night, it wasn’t to hide anything from you about what I was doing. It was simply because not many fall into the canyon during the day, can see it easily.” She stated with a slight shake of her head, “So looking at the canyon with a view to improving its safety at night was I thought the best way to do that.
“I also didn’t go behind anyone’s back. All the relevant people needed to attend the meeting; Allen the pack planner and Paul the pack’s Gamma, because you were already turned in for the night with Christy…” she trailed off, knowing that it should have been a night with her. “I won’t interrupt your time with her after hours, regardless of whose day it was to be with you.”
she stated
Anthony frowned at her, he understood her meaning on both fronts. One, it was her day to be with him, but he’d gone out of his way to spend it with Christy, and two, she had never interfered in his time with Christy, and three, she could manage this pack without his input.
“Only two have fallen into the canyon during the day… well three now, all the others were after dark.” Allen commented “I checked that myself, and requested when Mischa brought it up that the pack Gamma be in attendance. Because as it was the Luna that fell into the canyon, who better than the Gamma to decide what is safest for the person he’s to protect.
“We came up with not only a full safety plan for wolves of all ages, regardless of it being night or day. But we focused a lot on night safety. But also put forward and agreed on a proper way to be created for accessing the bottom of the canyon itself. Making it quicker for retrieval of injured pack members.”

“You shouldn’t need that if what you came up with is safer than now,” Christy stated.

“Very true,” Allen nodded, “but Mischa, Paul and I feel that teens will always be teens, and they dare each other to do stupid things at times. Even now they have, we noted, a rope swing to launch themselves out and over the canyon for fun or dares, and it’s at the highest point. Nothing I fear will stop teen hijinks.”
