She was sitting in her suite drinking a glass of red wine out on her balcony, just thinking about the e-mail she had read from Dr. Dana Reed that she’d received during the day, about the validity of that article she’d sent to her two weeks ago.
‘Luna Mischa,
I have looked into that article you sent me; I see why you think it would be a good resource to have for those she-wolves like your pack member. Unfortunately, as of yet, there is nothing I can pinpoint myself, with full certainty, that exists at this time. I believe it would be very useful to many, like your pack member.
On a side note, if your she-wolf would be open to becoming a willing test subject of a new study into such things, I could see my way to starting a research program, by reaching out to those in that original research study and bring this to their attention, see if they would be willing to join in, to bring about a better conclusion for all those in their study.
Some of those she-wolves, I think, will also willingly offer themselves up to be test subjects in experiments to restricting their heat to lessen their own pain and suffering. I think they would also do this in an effort to help those like themselves, who will be living in the same particular
set of circumstances.
It would be seen as an extension of the original research and bring about a better conclusion as well. They may even have contact with others from different species who would be willing to help to create what you’re looking for.
All manner of magical creatures can imbue things for varying reasons, and many otherworldly technicians could also possibly come up with solutions as well. If you’re interested in this, we
can discuss it further when you come here.
On another note, I have passed that article on to our pack’s Archivist, Sarafina. She studied all her degrees at the Nightingale Library, and I know she can read and speak several other, otherworldly languages, has an attached degree of being an otherworldly scribe and linguist (she is likely to have more knowledge than most other archivists.)
She has offered to take up the search for that article’s validity. Throughout other realms knowledge, that is allowed to be passed to the wolfen realm, she might have more luck in sourcing those responsible for the article and getting more information, maybe even find what you’re after without us having to do anything. That is the hope.
Hopefully, we’ll have something to impart to you on that front soon. I understand the time of your she-wolves heat is nearing, and the matter is pressing, but these things, unfortunately,

cannot be rushed if they are to be accurate and haven’t yet been researched into properly and tested for validity.
Dr. Dana Reed.’
Mischa responded with:
‘Hi Dana,
Thank you for the detailed response, and I have conferred with the she-wolf in questions and, yes, she is willing to be a test subject if a research program is going to be created. She will do anything to help create something to stop a heat or reduce a heat down to a day or just a few bouts instead of three to five days.
Luna Mischa’
She didn’t need to wait for an in-person conversation to be held. If Dana or anyone in her field were willing to start working on researching into it now, then she’d offer herself up right away. The sooner something like this got started, the sooner there could be a cure, so to speak.
She was just sitting thinking about it later that night, she had the time and the privacy to do that, right here inside this suite. No one would even know bar her unit and Paul. She’d have to keep that under wraps, her being a willing test subject to stop her from going into heat, but she would have to tell them in case there were unforeseen side effects, which they’d be able to recognize and help with if needed.
She had a feeling that if word of that got to Anthony, he’d pitch an Alpha proportioned fit, because of him wanting to have a pup with her, while she was actively trying not to go into heat at all and was trying to avoid getting pregnant.
There was only a week now until she was going to the Obsidian pack, where she would speak with Dana in person, and hopefully she would get some answers, that maybe in this coming week that archivist could find something useful. Though she wasn’t overly hopeful, that e-mail had been clear for her to understand, that Dana herself didn’t know of anything, likely if she did, she’d have her own research journals into that very thing for all to read, and there would be a solution to the problem already.
Not that Mischa thought many out there would likely want something like that. Probably only those in forced mate bonds, had cheating assholes of Mates, or were in situations where their Mates had to go away for long periods of time, such as off to war. Or were like herself, and had a Mate that just opted to make them suffer through it alone.
She got up out of her pod chair and swirled her glass of red wine as she leaned on the balcony railing, and stared out into the pack’s forest. It was almost the new moon and there was only a sliver of silver up in the sky, and she didn’t know if she could speak directly to

Selena like she normally would, but spoke to her as she normally would anyway. “Help me, to help others like me, Selena.” She stated softly. “Find a way for me to see this come about. Not only for myself… but all others out there that suffer the same fate, I’m willing to be your guinea pig.” She murmured and sipped her wine. “One Luna to another, so to speak.” She sighed softly into the night
Her eyes caught a glint out in the woods a few minutes later, almost as if there was a flash of something out there, and it drew her attention to it. She saw movement but couldn’t place it. There were no pack members out there that she could detect with a pack tether.
Laud pushed forward and used her wolfen sight to peer into the darkness of the woods, on this barely moon-lit night, and they saw a woman strolling this way, picked her out from her long, flowing, almost glowing white hair, as she moved through the forest towards where the packhouse sat.
This woman stopped at the edge of the tree line and looked right up at Mischa, who now understood she was not a pack member at all. There was definitely no pack tether to her down there, and she did not recognize her, but as that woman looked right at her, Mischa kind of felt a sense of sadness and longing, and felt kindred to her.
She stood all the way up as the woman smiled just a little, and then, to her shock, she heard a soft gentle voice inside her mind, speaking directly to her as if she was a pack member,’ Luna Mischa, in a forest here in the human realm there is a beacon of light and hope for all in the otherworldly realms. A she-wolf known as a mad genius, that endeavors to help all otherworldly creatures.
‘One who wants to help all be able to move on with their lives, find peace and tranquility, and give them a way to be able to protect themselves from enemies within and without. In the forest of light you’ll find the answer, for not only yourself but all others like yourself as well.” Then the connection was gone from her before she could even ask a single question.
The mysterious woman just turned and walked away into the darkness of the forest where she’d come from, and a minute later there was that same brief flash of light that had drawn her attention to the forest before.
‘It’s a portal opening and closing, Laud told her after a moment’s thought about what they’d seen, for with the second flash of light the presence she’d felt was now gone.
‘That woman… do you think it was Selena?’ Mischa murmured.
‘Doesn’t look like depictions of Selena, Laud stated thoughtfully, ‘But I agree, felt connected to her like no other around, and there was no pack alert of another presence here inside the pack; only we see and feel her I think.’ Laud mused.

Mischa looked about, and she knew Laud was right about one thing. It was clearly only herself that had sensed her out there. If Anthony had, he’d be out hunting it from the moment he felt something unknown to him inside the pack.
‘Maybe she can change her appearance to suit herself, Mischa mused, ‘or maybe we know nothing about the moon goddess at all, and if that was Selena, then how we see her is simply wrong.’ Mischa added after much thought.
If that was the moon goddess, it was a rare thing indeed to be seen, likely even rarer to have her speak directly to one in such a manner and to answer a question with such in depth meaning, although she felt it had been as cryptic as it was insightful.
Mischa now believed there was a way to get what she wanted to come about, and something was itching at her brain in the words that woman had spoken to her. She couldn’t quite put her finger on it and would have to think about it, rack her brain on all things that were said. Try and figure out where the answer to those words were.
She didn’t doubt that if that woman was Selena, then the answer was in the very words she’d spoken. Mischa just had to figure out which words were the answer. Clearly, a mad genius, meant some kind of other worldly tech genius or scientist. And one that was interested in working on helping their kind, which meant if she heard about what Mischa was going through, then she’d be willing to help her.
A beacon of light in a forest, here in the human realm. She sighed, there were many packs
and all of them had tech departments, and 95% of them were in a forested area or backed onto a forest. That was problematic, but then she wondered if that mad genius was Dana.
That she-wolf had many degrees attached to her name, and she was all about research and in a few of the books she was in, there were pictures of her in a lab coat at desk, so it was possible that Dana herself was a considered a genius that resided in Obsidian, as much as she was a doctor or medical researcher. Anything was possible, but then again, why would Selena send her to Dana when she was already going to see Dana?
It couldn’t be that simple, but at least now she knew there was a way for what she wanted to be done. So, she was halfway to getting the answer she needed, she supposed. All she had to do now, was not give up and find that forest of light; it was those three words that itched
at her and, after much thought, she knew they were going to be the important words to focus
on.
