The Eclipsed Life of Luna Mischa (by Jennifer Francis) novel Chapter 95

Mischa nodded at Dana. “I do know that, I’m also not yet ready to leave, though.” She shrugged it off. “There is no point in my staying anymore either. But seeing as Christy saw fit to do this to me, I’m not going to leave until…” Mischa half smiled. “I see just how determined Christy is to get that heir from Anthony. I want to see if her intentions are as I and the pack Gamma suspect.”
“So you’re going to actually wait until after your heat and see if she induces herself again then?” Dana frowned. “That’s a bit mean.” She murmured.
“Hmm, you say that, but am I doing that to her on purpose? It’s all Christy. I have nothing to do with it. I’m just curious, as if she will do it again, even though she knows what she’ll have to go through a second time. Is she so set on stopping me from getting pregnant that she’ll harm herself yet again?
“That’s not what I call mean, Dana. She doesn’t have to do it, she didn’t have to the first time, she is just so selfish that she did is all. She was formally punished for trying to frame me, got lashed and spent nine weeks in the cells for it. She understands the ramifications.
“I can’t choose what she does if I go into heat, and my heat is twice a year. She’s now had two in three months. If she is stupid enough to induce herself again, that will be three in six months,” Mischa stated. It might look as though she was setting Christy up, but really, could she? No, because only Christy could self-induce her own heat, so it was all on Christy.
“Do you know if she does it a second time, her body will adjust, and she’ll be having two heats naturally after that…” Dana frowned and looked as though something else had occurred to her. “Maybe, Mischa… this is what she actually wants. Her heat to clash with yours naturally and this is the only way she can bring it about,” Dana mused.
“I do know that, and if she does it again in November…”
“Oh! I see what you’re doing. Her natural heat, you said, was in February, then it’ll also become May if she induces herself with your next heat, and if again in November… Three heats a year. Naturally. That is not normal and… if investigated as to how she ended up with three heats a year. She’ll be found out as having self-induced because there is no other way
to do it.”
Mischa nodded. “That is correct.”
“Devious on your end… but,” Dana nodded. “I see why you haven’t left and why you don’t out her either, you said she was digging a hole for herself. You’re actually letting her in full.”
“That I am because my diary, when I leave, which documents everything I suspect, will be left

behind for Anthony to read. Or I’ll have the pack Gamma pass it right to the Elders. Christy may want Anthony and the pack all to herself, but she’ll never get it, not with all that laid out, it will be undeniable proof for even Anthony.
“Of all Christy did to get rid of me, right from the moment he scented her out and claimed her, he may not care for me anymore, but he did once upon a time, and reading something like that from the very beginning to the moment I left, he’ll see just how much Christy turned him. away from his first Mate, that it was always her intent to have him reject me,
“That she never once accepted our three-way mate bond. How she went about it: she was a traitor right from the very beginning. My Gamma also knows I’m documenting everything, so if Anthony opts not to do anything from what he reads, he can give it to the pack Elders for them to look into. And I can pretty much guarantee the Elders will not only investigate how to eclipse another Mate, but also how to bring about extra heats to a she-wolf.
“They will get everything and Christy will likely lose her head, because she’s already been deemed as having traitorous tendencies, where I’m concerned. She’s only alive right now due to my leniency and no one else’s,” Mischa smiled.
“Yet she still dares to try and oust you?” Dana frowned deeply.
“Yes,” Mischa nodded.
“I see. I’m guessing from that there is nothing she won’t do, in other words, to stick to her plan of being Anthony’s one and only Mate. This is also why I’m only conferring with yourself and not the Alpha or his other Mate on this matter as well, I now see,” Dana murmured.
“Mm, I don’t want either one of them to know what I’m up to, or that I’m going to eventually leave until it happens. This will keep Christy doing what comes naturally, and I’m also not really hurting anyone at all. Only trying to save myself from more pain, and that is personal to me, so Christy doesn’t need to be informed. Anthony… I don’t think he deserves to know everything, some things yes; he is aware I’m here to talk to you about better drugs, but not for the reduction or the stopping of my heat.
“I also didn’t know if I told you it was myself; one of the Lunas to the pack, if you would respond to me and want to have all correspondence be attached to him and his other Luna as well. So I left that out on purpose. Sorry about the deception on my part.” Mischa apologized to her.
Dana waved it off, “I get it, you’re in the statistic group of knowing what’s coming, as well as looking for payback. That will also lead to a rejection. I’m not here to judge you, Mischa, your circumstances…” she sighed. “Are particular and each she-wolf in this type of bond will deal with it as they see fit. That is all you are doing…

“However, what will you do if your Mate doesn’t let you suffer it alone when it comes? If Christy doesn’t induce her own heat? Or if he opts to split his time, obviously he’ll spend more with her, but he could, in fact, leave her alone for your bouts. They will be further apart and fewer of them. There is always that possibility to save her being over mated. Have drugs prepared for her.”
“There is,” Mischa agreed, “and I guess I don’t know. I’m not interested in having sex with him at all, let alone directly after he’s been with her. Come running to my suite, scenting of her heat, Yuck.” She shuddered at the thought. “Though Christy doesn’t care about that.”

“Hmm, that’s because her scent then envelops yours and overlays it. That is how she’s eclipsing you. But if he does?” Dana pushed.
“I don’t know to be honest… But he’ll never let Christy suffer what I did, especially if her heat is as aggressive as the one in November. Which we all know it will be,” Mischa commented.
Dana sighed. “Your life is complicated, and from all you’re telling me and likely from what I will see and read,” Dana indicated to the file, “I also think Christy is going to induce herself into heat, though you said a full day after you were in heat…” she thought about that “It was a test run to see if it worked, I dare say. Now she knows it will, she’ll likely do this quickly now, like the day of, be prepared for that.”
“I’m prepping ahead for all contingencies, hence the reduction of my heat.”
“I’ll call Madison and speak with her at length before we have our next meeting. I’ll send for you or come to your suite for a chat.”
Mischa nodded and thanked her, she left Dana’s office and headed downstairs the way she’d come into this building and found Brent sitting on a chair just waiting for her. He smiled at her as he stood up when she walked outside.
“A good lengthy conversation,” Brent commented as she reached him, and they headed on out of the building.
“Yes, we both asked lots of questions and got the general picture of myself and the way I feel about what happened. Dana is going to sort out better birth control.” She smiled even as he
turned wide eyes on her.
“Don’t concern yourself with it, Brent, it’ll not go through anyone’s hands inside Night Whispers. I didn’t lie, I won’t have you or anyone inside the pack get me any form of wolfen birth control. I’ll just get it direct from Dana herself.” She smiled. “Underhanded, but I never once promised I wouldn’t go outside the pack to get it,” and she’d not, had left herself a nice-sized loophole in her wording to Anthony that day.
They headed back to the shopping and accommodation building and wandered about while

they waited for their dinner reservation time to come, and they’d just sat down when Brent’s phone rang. He pulled it out and looked at it, then looked at Mischa and held it out to her, it was Anthony. It took her only a moment to realize she’d put her phone on do not disturb for that meeting with Dana, so there would be no interruptions, and she’d not switched it back to normal mode.
She shrugged it off and told him to answer it as she turned her eyes to the menu. She didn’t know why he bothered calling, let alone at this hour, it was well after knock off time, and he should be all happy with Christy in her bedroom back in the pack. It was 8pm here, so 10pm there. Therefore, she shouldn’t be on his mind at all, could still only put that down to he had to be feeling the ache in his chest from her being so far away from him.
“Yes, Alpha,” Brent answered.
“I can’t reach Mischa. Where is she? I asked you to make sure she was safe, and you knew where she was at all times.” She heard Anthony’s annoyed voice come down the line.
Mischa looked at Brent and rolled her eyes. Brent smiled at her reaction and stated, “I’m looking right at her. She’s fine, we’re just sitting down for dinner.” Then he put it on speakerphone. “Mischa the Alpha wants to speak with you,” he stated.
She nearly laughed at the way he worded it: not your Mate and not Anthony, but the Alpha. He’d obviously heard what she’d said inside the pack when talking to Anthony and was following her lead. He saw her amusement and had to look away himself and bite his lips together. Which told her he knew exactly what he’d done, and he’d done it on purpose as well.
“Yes Anthony,” she voiced, though she couldn’t keep the smile out of her voice.
“I couldn’t reach you on your phone,” he stated.
“Hmm, it’s on do not disturb. I’ve been in with Dr. Dana for almost an hour and I didn’t want any interruptions.” She told him simply, honestly. “What’s wrong, why are you looking for me all of a sudden?” she asked.
“Mischa, don’t be like that, I’m your Mate and, of course, I’d worry about you being so far from me and the pack,” he stated right back.
“Really, you’ve not looked for me in weeks, yet now… you do… do you think I’m going to just up and run away from you… that’s more a Christy thing to go running off and want you chasing
after her.” She smiled. “Oh, the waiters here for our order. Talk later,” she stated, and reached out and hit the end call button on Brent’s phone.
