The Ex-Wife's Burning Elegance novel Chapter 1578

A dark, cold anger simmered in Foreman's eyes, but his voice was deceptively gentle.

"Do you remember Rachel? She lied all the time, deceiving you and your father. Well, Rachel was sent by your Mr. Joshua to destroy your parents' marriage. The only reason he saved you so desperately was because it was all a show he orchestrated himself. Even the time Rachel kidnapped you, that was her plan. Her goal was to get rid of you and your mom so no one would stand in the way of her being with your dad."

Foreman sighed softly. "I know you might not believe me, Keen. If you don't, you can ask your father. Or you can ask your mom."

Hearing this, Keen's face turned white as a sheet. If Mr. Richards was telling him to ask his own parents, could it be that Mr. Joshua really was…

Just then, a cheerful voice came from the other end of the hallway. "Foreman, what a coincidence!"

Foreman and Keen both looked up to see Callie O'Brien approaching, carrying dinner. Seeing Callie, Foreman offered a warm smile.

"Yes, I came to Solmaris with Haynes last time but had some unfinished business, so I stayed behind."

Callie walked over, looking pleased. "I was just thinking about whether I'd run into you on this trip to Solmaris, and here you are!"

Callie just assumed he was worried about Stella and didn't think much of it. "Why don't you go eat in the room? I'm just going to chat with Mr. Richards for a bit."

Keen mumbled an affirmation and took his dinner into the adjacent lounge.

Just before the door closed, he glanced back at Callie and Foreman. Callie was smiling brightly as she spoke to Foreman, her eyes shining with an unconcealed crush. Foreman listened quietly, nodding and smiling in agreement from time to time.

Keen stared at his dinner but had no appetite. Deep down, he didn't want to believe that Mr. Joshua could do such things. The way Mr. Joshua had tried to save him felt real. The happiness on his face when they played together wasn't fake.
