"You've already handed over your assets, but I doubt you've even met your great-grandson yet, have you?"
The instant elder Mrs. Sherwood's eyes landed on Seven in the video, her gaze melted into absolute adoration. Her lips curled into an uncontrollable smile. "This child is just too lovable!"
Wilma, standing nearby, chimed in, though her words carried a pointed edge. "Lucy has truly raised him well. It's just a shame that some people didn't know how to appreciate what they had."
"Exactly! He brought it all on himself, ruining his own happiness!" elder Mrs. Sherwood quickly added salt to the wound.
Kingsley wasn't angered in the slightest. He simply accepted it. "Yes, which is why everything happening now is my punishment."
He paused, then added offhandedly, "It seems you guys aren't interested in hearing him call you Great-Grandma. What a shame..."
The older woman remained silent, but internally, she was burning with impatience. How could she not be? But it wasn't her place to bring it up with Lucy, so she was stuck waiting.
Wilma saw right through both of them and teased with a smile, "What's this? Getting hurt didn't win you a single glance from Lucy, so now you're desperately trying to use the old lady?"
Kingsley smiled, a hint of certainty in his voice. "We'll talk about it once she agrees to meet."
elder Mrs. Sherwood glared at him and cut straight to the chase. "Send me that video. Stop trying to bait us into doing your dirty work."
Kingsley picked up his phone and readily sent it over.
