UghElizabeth let out a long sigh, like she was trying to push out all the pain and reluctance in her chest.

She looked down at the basket and the bright red strawberries still on the vines. They smelled sweet and tempting. She clenched her fist and pumped herself up. Elizabeth, come on! It’s just ten million! You can earn that back fast with your skills. Money from others never feels as good as money you earn yourself!

Yeah. Rely on yourself!

These strawberriesthese crops were what she depended on to survive!

She crouched down again, ready to turn her lost moneysadness into motivation to pick more strawberries. Just as her fingers touched a plump one, her device made that annoying money notification sound again.

Elizabeth’s hand shook, almost crushing the strawberry.

She quickly raised her wrist and stared at the screen. Another transfer of ten million stellar coins.

Right after that, a message popped up.

Mrs. Hewitt, Mrs. Zaylee has received the money you returned. She asked me to tell you that since you registered your marriage with her son, from that day on, you are her daughterinlaw. That will not change. This money is a gift from an elder. Please accept it without overthinking. If you return it again, Mrs. Zaylee might have to call you personally to check in on you.

Looking at the long string of zeros, then the polite but clearly firm tone of the message, basically saying don’t send it back or she’ll call you herself-Elizabeth felt conflicted.

Her socalled motherinlaw wasway too nice!

She was reasonable, super rich, and totally supportive, even if Elizabeth was just a daughterinlaw in name!

If Elizabeth weren’t so set on staying single and hadn’t been forced into this marriage, she’d definitely try to actually win over Cristian just to keep a motherinlaw this awesome!

Too bad. No what if.

Elizabeth stared at the ten million back in her account and took a deep breath.

Fine. Since she couldn’t refuse and they were so insistent, refusing again would just look rude.

She’d reluctantlyaccept it.

But Elizabeth wasn’t the type to just take stuff for free.

After getting such a massive gift, she had to give something back.

So she quickly went over what she hadpotatoes, sweet potatoes, and these freshly ripened strawberries.

She immediately cleared out two storage buttons.

One had a capacity of 35 cubic feet. The other had a capacity of 318 cubic feet.

For the smaller one, she picked out her bestlooking strawberries. She packed them into boxes, then stored them inside the storage button until it was full.

That alone used up almost onethird of all her ripe strawberries!

Looking at that vibrant red filling the storage button, she felt a pang of reluctance, but when she thought about the ten million, she knew this return gift had to be generous.

As for the larger storage button, she filled it with sweet potatoes and potatoes, half and half, stuffing it to the brim.

The heavy, full tubers filled every bit of space. This was real foodvaluable on any planet, especially since she had watered them with spiritual rainwater. The quality was toptier.

Once the return gift was ready, Elizabeth felt a lot better.

Once she finished picking all the strawberries, she walked over to where the kids were working.

She found Paul, who was busy picking small stones out of a pile of gravel with the other kids from Hope Town.

Next to him was a pale, thin woman moving a bit slowly but doing the same work.

That was Paul’s mom.

Paul spotted Elizabeth right away. He jumped up excitedly, tugged on his mom’s clothes, and said loudly, Mom! Mom! This is Ms. Elizabeth, the one who saved us! She’s the one who brought us here and gave us jobs!

Hearing that, Paul’s mom’s dull eyes suddenly filled with deep gratitude.
