Chapter 179 The Broadcast Message That Shook the Inner Circles
“I’ll notify Oliver and the others right away.” Trevor picked up his device first, wearing a distinctly smug expression, like someone very much enjoying the fact that his household had something priceless others could only envy.
Zaylee followed with elegant ease, her lips curving slightly as she operated her device. “I should let Lily and the others know as well. They’ve been going on and on about those strawberries since last time.”
Shortly after, two messages–similar in content but each carrying a hint of deliberate bragging–were sent out from the Hewitt couple’s accounts, reaching their respective elite social circles.
Trevor posted, “Old friends, how were those strawberries, potatoes, and sweet potatoes I sent you last time? Not to brag, but my daughter–in–law Elizabeth will be setting up a stall tomorrow at 9 a.m. in Mercury Plaza, East District, Zone C. Same goods as before, plus strawberries. You all know the quality. They are limited, so if you want them, get there early. Don’t say I didn’t warn you if you miss out.”
Meanwhile, Zaylee posted, “Ladies, I have a little treat tomorrow! My Eliza will be at Mercury Plaza at 9 a.m. selling strawberries, potatoes, and sweet potatoes. You’ve all already experienced the taste and effects, so I won’t say more. She’s set tiered pricing rules. Bulk buyers will pay more to make sure more people get access. Quite an interesting approach. If you want some, come early!
First Military Residential District, Oliver’s office.
Oliver was reviewing a tactical deployment on a holographic battlefield when a notification from Trevor arrived.
He opened it casually, and the moment he read the contents, his tiger–like eyes widened. First disbelief, then explosive excitement.
He shot up so abruptly that he nearly knocked over the holographic tactical table.
“Honey! Honey!” he shouted as he bolted out of the office like a bullet rushing down the corridor while guards turned their heads in confusion.
In the garden hall, Melinda Tapia was patiently guiding her five–year–old granddaughter, Tiana Tapia, as she tuned a small violin modeled after ancient Earth designs.
Tiana was five this year, and she was as pretty as a doll. She was very interested in music.
“Grandma, is this note right?” Tiana asked softly, clumsily moving the bow.
“Yes, our Tiana is doing great. It’s almost perfect…” Melinda began, but was interrupted by rapid footsteps rushing in like a storm.
“Melinda! Good news! Big news!” Before he even arrived, Oliver’s voice boomed through the hall. He rushed in, face glowing with excitement, scooped his wife up, and spun her once in the air.
“Hey! You crazy old man! Put me down! You’ll scarface the child!” Melinda scolded while laughing, lightly hitting his shoulder
Only then did he carefully set her down, still rubbing his hands together in excitement. “It’s the Commander The Commander sent word! His daughter in law will be setting up a stall at Mercury Plaza tomorrow at ninet Strawberries, potatoes, and sweet potatoes!”
“Really?” Melinda’s eyes lit up instantly with delight.

good preservation equipment, freshness couldn’t be perfectly maintained indefinitely.
“A thousand each?” Oliver shook his head vigorously. “No, no, that’s too little! Don’t forget, Albert, Rex, and those boys are
shing their rotation next month and heading back to the border. Who knows when they’ll return? We need more. Five thousand each
“Five thousand each it is,” Melinda agreed after a brief thought.
Then, she added calmly, “By the way, did the Commander mention how it’s being sold? The pricing?”
“He did!” Oliver quickly repeated the tiered pricing system from Trevor’s message. “So the more you buy, the higher the unit price Should we send multiple groups to queue separately so we can get more at the base price?”
Melinda gave him a sideways glance, unimpressed. “Are you really that short on stellar coins? I heard from Mrs. Zaylee that her daughter–in–law is planning to build a private interstellar freight route between A001 and the main shipping lane. She’s probably short on funding. The extra cost is basically our wedding gift to her. Supporting the child’s business matters more than saving a few coins*
Oliver slapped his forehead, suddenly enlightened. “Of course! You’re absolutely right, my dear! As expected of you! That’s the proper way to do it! We will consider it a gift for Elizabeth!”

Once the serious matters were settled, Oliver licked his lips and put on a pitiful, almost puppy–like expression as he leaned toward his wife. “Honey, look, we’re going to be able to buy so much good food tomorrow anyway… So today… could we maybe just open the preservation cabinet a little early and… hehe… just have a taste? One sweet potato–no, half is fine!”
Little Tiana copied him exactly, wrapping her arms around her grandmother’s leg and tilting her small face up with watery eyes: “Grandma, Tiana wants it too… Just a little taste like Grandpa.”
Watching the identical greedy expressions from both old and young, Melinda felt both amused and helpless. The small irritation she had felt earlier at her husband’s impulsiveness had completely dissolved.
She deliberately put on a stern face, studying their expectant looks. After a few seconds, she finally couldn’t hold it in and broke into a smile. “Honestly, look at the two of you. No self–control at all.” She waved her hand gracefully. “Fine. Vaughn, go bring out the remaining sweet potatoes and strawberries from the preservation cabinet. Let them ‘have a taste.”
“Yay! Grandma is the best!” Tiana cheered happily.
