Chapter 294 Trash Talk
Chapter 294 Trash Talk
She said it lightly, like it was just a casual note. “Ms. Schofield made it very clear–anyone who has done something like this will be put on a blacklist. You won’t be welcome at the farm, and the farm won’t sei! you any products in the future. Let’s not run our. chances at good food over something dumb, okay?”
….
As soon as she said that, the lively chat in the group froze for a moment.
A few people who normally didn’t follow Starnet gossip–who only knew about Interstellar Fycoon because of Lilith–immediately spoke up confidently, “Trash–talk? No way! I hardly ever go on those gossip boards!“*
“Exactly! We might like to have fun, but we’re classy. We don’t go around bashing people for no reason!”
“Absolutely not! I swear!”
“Don’t worry Lilith, we’re all good kids. We don’t do shady stuff.”
But besides these few clear, loud replies, people who had been eagerly trying to grab a spot and chatting excitedly, suddenly went silent, like someone had muted them all.
The messages that had been scrolling fast slowed to a trickle, leaving only a few random jokes that felt out of place
The sudden quiet made even those confident friends notice something was off.
“Hey? Kevin, why aren’t you saying anything? Weren’t you shouting the loudest about wanting to go? Don’t tell me…you insulted Ms. Schofield on Starnet?”
Someone jokingly tagged a friend.
“And Eddie, we said we’d go try it together, right? Why so quiet? Feeling guilty?”
“Ollie, what are you doing? Say something!”
The people being called out had “typing…” under their IDs, but no full message came through for a long time.
After a while, someone finally spoke, with a mix of embarrassment, anger, and bluffing bravado.
“I…I didn’t even say anything too harsh!”
“I just commented on the post and told a few honest things! Ms. Schofield can’t be that peth, right?”
“Everyone knows Planet A001 is a rough place, i just said it’s risky there and the crops probably aren’t safe to eat. That’s not a by deal, is it?”
“And Elizabeth drugged her sister’s fiancé back then. The court already decided it. Can’t we even talk about that
“We’re not spreading tumors. We just couldn’t sit by and ignore some facts. That’s it?”
As soon as these defenses appeared, the atmosphere, which had been somewhat calm, immediately grew tentar,
Laith read the messages, and her temper flared instantly
She had thought that at least among her own circle, people would show some sense, but clearly, some of them had skin

something that stupid!
She couldn’t help letting out a curse,

“Damn it! Are you guys out of your minds?! Do you even know Ms. Schofield? Do you understand the real situation? And there you are, talking about honest things and standing up for justice? So what if the court made a ruling back then? That doesn’t make your mean comments back then right! That doesn’t prove that the fruit he grows now is bad or fake!?”
Lilith’s blunt questions hit like a knife, slicing through that layer of fake politeness.
But the rich kids she targeted were used to being arrogant and couldn’t stand being called out like this–especially in front of so many people.
They snapped back immediately, angry and embarrassed.
“Lilith, what’s your deal? Are you kissing up just because someone stutters?”
“Fine, we won’t go! Who cares anyway? It’s just a crappy farm!”
“Exactly! Acting like it’s some holy place? Maybe they’re using some illegal tech!”
“We were just speaking out for justice! Protecting interstellar citizens‘ right to know!” “Lilith, don’t be so bossy! You’re turning on your own friends for some outsider?”
For a moment, the chat exploded into chaos.
The chat exploded. Messages flew everywhere–some people supported Lilith, some thought the others were overreacting, some just watched for the drama, and others were trying to argue back it was chaos.
Lilith’s chest heaved with anger. Seeing these “friends” she used to have fun with, now acting like this, made her feel sick.
She stopped wasting words and dropped a harsh line.
“Fine! Then remember what I said today! From now on, if Ms. Schofield’s farm puts anything out, none of you touch it! Let’s see how long you can keep up that tough act! Anyone else who really wants to come, message me privately? We’ll make a new group! if we’re not on the same path, we’re done.”
After saying this, she blocked the most obnoxious IDs and posted an announcement in the group chat. “Anyone who is genuinely interested and has nothing to hide, message me.”
Then, she left the group decisively.
This sudden drama split the once fun and chaotic rich–kid chat group in two.
On one side were those who chose to stand with Lilith, people who regretted following the herd before, or those who had always been innocent.
On the other side were those who couldn’t let go of their pride, insisting they had done nothing wrong, and even grRWING MOR hostile toward Elizabeth and the farm.
Even though Lilith had managed to pick out more reliable friends, she didn’t feel at ease.
