Chapter 390 The Swarm Moves
Wally’s fingers moved lightly across the holographic screen as he spoke in a calm, measured tone, like he was explaining a tactical simulation. “Gentlemen, if we’re dealing with a farm, especially one on a remote, underdeveloped planet with lim defenses, yet filled with rich, high–quality natural crops, why should we dirty our own hands?”
He deliberately emphasized the words “rich, high–quality.”
“Swarmborn. Those greedy, mindless creatures with an almost instinctive craving for high–energy, life–rich substances.” A smile curved at the corner of Wally’s mouth. “They don’t care about blacklists, military pride, or therapeutic value. They onl one thing. There is food there.”
He paused, letting his gaze sweep across the room as people began to catch or “I recently reviewed a routine report from a outpost. There’s a small roaming Swarmborn cluster, mainly composed of Predators and Acid Spitters, moving irregularly alo the edges of the Third, Fourth, and Fifth sectors. Their movement patterns, if… slightly influenced or stimulated, could theore shift off course and ‘accidentally‘ enter regions usually considered safe but actually lacking strong defenses. For example…. th area where Planet A001 is located.”
He continued, his tone steady. “Swarmborn are highly sensitive to life energy, especially natural, unprocessed plant life. A large scale, high–yield natural farm would appear to them like a beacon in the dark. Or… a fully laid–out feast with no defenses.”
Wally did not finish the thought, but everyone in the room understood.
Using a borrowed blade to kill.
No, using insects to destroy.
By taking advantage of the Swarmborn’s instinctive greed and subtly guiding them through hidden means, a manageable but stil highly destructive swarm could be made to “accidentally” move toward Planet A001.
Swarmborn attacks on remote, abandoned planets were not unheard of in the kingdom’s long history of border conflicts. It could easily be written off as an unfortunate accident or unpredictable migration behavior.
When that happened, Planet A001 would be destroyed. The farm would be wiped out. Casualties would follow. All problems disappear.
The First Military, the Hewitts, and the other interested parties could rage all they wanted, but their anger would be directed at me Swarmborn, not the Fifth Military.
Even if suspicions arose, without concrete evidence, who could accuse a military division of orchestrating a Swarbon attack
Such an accusation alone would cause massive upheaval.
“Swarmborn…” Roman repeated slowly, a cold light flickering in his eyes.
He understood the risks. If anything went wrong or was exposed, it would become a catastrophic scandal
But when he looked at the blacklist displayed on the holographic screen and thought about how the Page Military might in stronger because of it while squeezing the Fifth Military’s position, the violent urge in his chest was hard to suppress
A farm that refused to fall in line, and those so–called miraculous crops that could threaten meic future. Destroying them seemed like the cleanest solution.

“Mr. Cantrell,” Roman finally said. His voice was calm again, but colder than before. “I want a more detailed and professionally refined report on that Swarmborn cluster’s movement projections and the likelihood of ‘accidental deviation: At the same time, begin feasibility studies on environmental disturbance and guidance methods. Make sure everything stays within the bounds of what could be considered normal and accidental.”
“Yes, Commander Lynch,” Wally replied, understanding immediately. He gave a slight nod. “I will personally oversee it and ensure all analysis and preparations are… flawless.”
A plan for destruction, disguised as an accident, was quietly set in motion within chat rooms filled with power and resentment.
The leadership of the Fifth Military, in their attempt to protect their pride and counter what they believed was a scheme by the First Military, had chosen the darkest and most dangerous path.
