“This isn’t robbery!” the Firth Military representative slammed the table and shot to his feet. “This is for the Kingdom’s security! If that kind of technology falls into enemy hands…”
“Enemy hands?” the Second Military representative interrupted with a half–smile. “Who exactly owns that farm? The daughter–in- law of Commander Hewitt from the First Military. So what now? Is the First Military the enemy?”
The Fifth Military representative choked on his words instantly.
His face turned red as he tried to argue further, only for a low voice to cut across the room.
“Enough.”
Everyone turned toward the head of the long table simultaneously.
Chief Quimby of the First Military sat there calmly, his expression composed, though his eyes were cold enough to freeze steel.
Without looking at anyone, he stared down at the proposal in front of him while lightly tapping his fingers against the table.

Тар. Тар. Тар.
The sound struck against everyone’s nerves like a hammer.
“Military supervision.” Trevor slowly read aloud the words from the proposal, his tone indifferent. “The Fifth Military’s reach has certainly grown long.”
The Fifth Military representative’s expression changed immediately. “Chief Quimby, this is for Imperial security…”
“Imperial security?” Jacob lifted his eyes and looked at him directly. “Since when did the Fifth Military become responsible for worrying about the kingdom’s safety? Are the rest of us just decorations?”
That gaze was like a blade. The Fifth Military representative instinctively stepped back half a pace.
“Which military division holds jurisdiction over Planet A001?” Jacob asked.>
No one answered.
So Jacob answered for them himself. “The First Military.”
He rose from his seat and walked to the projection screen, pointing toward the tiny glowing point on the star map.
His voice remained calm and steady. “This planet has belonged to the First Military from the first day the kingdom divided its military sectors. Its security is our responsibility. Any issue concerning it…”
He turned his head and looked directly at the Fifth Military representative.
“…will be handled by the First Military.”
The representative’s face darkened immediately. “Chief Quimby, you’re clearly shielding them…”
“Shielding?” Trevor interrupted sharply, his voice suddenly turning cold. “I’m talking about rules.”

“Imperial Military Code, Article Seven. The jurisdictional boundaries between military divisions are absolute. Without authorization, no division may interfere in another’s affairs.” He looked at the Fifth Military representative expressionlessly. “Did your Fifth Military forget that rule, or are you simply pretending it doesn’t exist?”
The man opened his mouth… but no words came out.
Silence settled over the conference room once more.
The representative from the Third Military had remained silent the entire time.
He sat quietly in the corner, head lowered over the documents before him as though none of this concerned him in the slightest.
Yet every so often, when he lifted his eyes, an unreadable glint flickered within them.
The Fourth Military representative shrank slightly into his chair and swallowed back whatever he had been about to say.
Meanwhile, the Second Military representative leisurely lifted his teacup and took another slow sip, looking perfectly relaxed and uninvolved.
“Chief Quimby makes a fair point,” he finally said mildly, sounding more like a mediator than a military official. “Rules are rules. If the Fifth Military believes the farm poses a problem, then provide evidence and apply for a joint investigation. But directly stationing troops there… that’s rather inappropriate.”
The Fifth Military representative shot him a vicious glare.
But the Second Military representative merely smiled and continued drinking his tea.
The meeting had reached a deadlock.
The Fifth Military stubbornly clung to the narrative of an Imperial security threat, insisting on deploying troops to A001 at all costs.
The First Military held just as firmly to the matter of jurisdictional authority, refusing to yield an inch.
As for the remaining three military divisions… Some watched the spectacle unfold, some attempted to smooth things over, and some kept their heads down and pretended they weren’t there.
No one could convince anyone else.
At last, Jacob rose to his feet.
“This… will be handled by the First Military.” he said calmly, “We will investigate the farm’s defensive technology ourselves. If there is a problem, we will deal with it. And if there isn’t…”
He looked toward the representative of the Fifth Military Command, his gaze cold as a blade.
“Anyone who dares reach out again…Don’t blame the First Military for showing no mercy.”
Then he turned and walked out of the conference room.
The doors closed behind him with a heavy thud.
The Fifth Military representative remained standing there, his expression alternating between pale and red.
