Chapter 465 The Dream Contract
Roger had his fists clenched so tight that his knuckles were white.
The others had all stopped in their tracks, too, eyes glued to Fiona.
Fiona walked up to them, looked at the dozen or so anxious faces, and suddenly smiled.
“What are you all so nervous about?” she said. “Congratulations. You all passed our farm’s interview with flying colors.”
Enola froze for a second.
Then her eyes started to sting.
“R–Really?”

“Of course it’s real,” Fiona nodded. “I had my eyes on you all day. Over at the fruit stall, you bagged orders fast and clean, answered every customer question with patience, and didn’t make a single mistake. At the vegetable stall, Roger, right? You were slow, but you were thorough. You picked every single one with real care, and the customers were thrilled. And Louis, you’ve got a real way with people. You had customers walking off with smiles on their faces.”
Louis scratched the back of his head, grinning sheepishly.
Fiona kept going. “Everyone else did great work too. So… you’re all hired.”
The words landed like a stone dropped into still water, sending ripples of cheering through the group.
“Thank goodness!”
“We really got the job!”
“Thank you, Fiona!”
Enola covered her mouth as the tears she had been holding back finally spilled over.
Louis stood there next to her, grinning like a fool.
Roger still had that same honest expression, but his eyes were rimmed in red too.
Once they had gotten their excitement out, Fiona pulled up the employment contracts on her device.
“Here, these are your contracts,” she said. “A one–month probation period, and if there are no issues, you’ll be made permanent. Take a look, and if you have no objections to the wages and benefits, come on over and sign.”
As she spoke, she pushed the contract over to each of their devices.
Everyone of them eagerly opened it up and read through it carefully.
The probationary pay turned out to be just about the same as what they had been making at Seafarm Group.
After being made permanent, that would go up by another 30 percent.
With pay like that, there was nothing left to think twice about.

But the benefits beyond the pay were just as appealing.

Free room and board during the employment, with all meals at the employee cafeteria covered, made from ingredients the farm grew itself.
They could buy a set amount of the farm’s products each month at a half–price employee rate.
Overtime came with overtime pay, and holidays paid triple wages.
Five days of paid vacation a year, with more added based on years of service.
Every clause they read had them more dumbfounded than the last.
Hadn’t they only applied to be regular stall workers?
Did that really deserve this kind of treatment?
Fiona smiled and asked, “What do you think? Can you live with these terms?”
Silence.
Dead silence.
Enola stood there with her mouth hanging open, total disbelief written all over her face.
Louis’s eyes were wide as saucers.
Roger’s clenched fists opened and closed.
The others were all rooted to the spot, staring at the contract like it was written in some foreign language.
Several seconds passed before Enola finally found her voice.
“F–Fiona…” Her voice trembled. “Everything on here… is it for real?”
Fiona arched an eyebrow. “Of course. This is our farm’s actual employment contract. It’s definitely real.”

“Free room and board? Free cafeteria? Half–price employee rate? Overtime pay? Triple wages on holidays? Paid vacation?” Enola rattled off every single perk in one breath. “All of it… you really have all of it?”
“All of it,” Fiona nodded. “Why? Doesn’t Seafarm Group offer the same?”
Enola shook her head, back and forth, like a kid shaking a rattle.
Louis couldn’t help but jump in. “The ‘benefits‘ Seafarm Group gave us were near–expired products from the store. Sometimes flat- out expired.”
Fiona’s brow furrowed.
“Near–expired products? The flat out expired kind?”
“Yeah,” Louis nodded. “On holidays, they’d hand out a box of shriveled fruit or potatoes that had already started sprouting. They/4

called it a ‘bonus, but really they were just clearing out their inventory.”
Fiona went quiet for a beat, then let out a soft sigh→
“All right, don’t dwell on it,” she said. “Whatever happened back there, it’s not your problem anymore. Come on, let’s sign these contracts.”
She pulled up the digital contract, displaying it in front of all of them.
Enola was the first one to step forward, her hands still trembling.
She read through it one more time, careful not to miss a single word.
