Only then did Elizabeth reluctantly step back a few steps.

She stopped at a distance where she could definitely still hear them, while pretending she couldret On the surface, she looked like she was watching the crabs in the pipe, but in reality, she was shamelessly eavesdropping with full attention.
Tyson pulled his gaze away from her and looked down at Clara in his arms.
She was still the same as before-small, skinny, and stubborn. Even when injured, she would never complain. But once she started crying, she could never stop.
“It’s okay,” he said softly. “I’m fine. Look, I’m still here.”
Clara cried for a full minute before finally calming down little by little.
She released Tyson and stepped back, then kept staring at him carefully.
He wore Tycoon Farm’s light green work uniform, with the farm logo stitched across his chest.
He was much thinner than she remembered. But he looked healthy and energetic, nothing like someone who had once been seriously injured.
Sniffling, she asked, “How did you end up at Tycoon Farm? Didn’t they say you already…”
“Died?” Tyson finished for her and gave a bitter smile. “That’s what the team told everyone?”
Clara froze, then nodded slowly.
Tyson spoke calmly, as if talking about someone else’s story. “My mental power suffered heavy damage, and I stayed unconscious the whole time. Erin took me home and kept me alive using a medical pod. Later, my mental collapse rate passed 80 percent. According to regulations, I was supposed to be sent to a waste planet. Officially, it was for recovery, but really…”
He didn’t finish the sentence. But Clara understood.
Being sent to a waste planet was basically exile.
A slow death sentence.
“What happened after that?” she asked quietly.
“Later, we met Ma’am there.” Tyson glanced toward Elizabeth. “Her farm was hiring people, and she took Erin and me in. Ma’am healed my mental power, and now I work for her.”
Clara followed his gaze.
Elizabeth was currently crouched beside the pipe, poking a stuck Crackshell Crab with a tree branch white lecturing it to hurry up and move inside.
She honestly didn’t look like someone capable of healing mental power.
“Her?” Clara asked in disbelief.

Fyson redded and smiled. “Don’t let appearances fool you. She’s amazing.”
Clara fell silent for a moment before suddenly remembering something. Her face impediately changed.

She grabbed Tyson’s arm tightly, her voice tense. “Tyson, how was your mental power injured back then? The team only said you ran into trouble during the mission. They neverexplained what actually happened.”
Tyson’s expression changed.
The shift was tiny, but Clara noticed it immediately.
The corners of his mouth tightened slightly, his eyes darkened for a moment, and his jaw stiffened.
But after hesitating briefly, he still didn’t answer directly. Instead, he changed the subject. “I should be asking you that. Your strength was among the best in the squad. Even if you couldn’t fight that many crackshell Crabs, escaping should’ve been possible. How did you end up trapped here?”
Clara stayed silent for a few seconds before answering flatly.
“Nathaniel was running at the back pretending he couldn’t keep up. I went to help him. Then he grabbed my wrist and dragged me backward, using me to block the crab swarm.”
Tyson’s fists clenched tightly. “And then he ran away, leaving you as bait to slow down the crabs?”
Clara looked at Tyson’s furious expression and tried to comfort him with a weak smile. “But I got lucky. I met Ms. Schofield and you.”
But Tyson didn’t look comforted at all.
He stared at her shattered mech, the blood covering her body, and the bruised finger marks around her wrist.
His eyes slowly turned red.
In an icy voice, he said, “Damn it. That bastard Nathaniel again.”
Clara froze in surprise. Then she asked carefully, “What do you mean? Tyson. Don’t tell me you were also…”
Tyson nodded.
“Back during that mission, I was paired with him. I stayed behind to cover the retreat. When the enemies caught up, I told him to fall back first while I held them off. And he ran. Halfway through, he looked back at me once.”
He paused.
“And after that, he detonated the ammo crates behind me.”
Clara went completely pale.
“The explosion destroyed my mech. My mental power collapsed on the spot. Before I blacked out, I heard him shouting through the communicator, ‘Captain, Tyson’s dead! We need to retreat now!” Tyson lowered his eyes. “And then they left. Nobody came back for me.”
After speaking, he stayed silent for a moment.
