Newman opened his personal terminal. The screen lit up with several unread messages in the work group chat
Fulvio had sent a photo showing a disassembled MK–il jump engine component with several sections circled in red.
“Newman, next week we’re focusing on replacing and calibrating these seals. The precision requirements on this thing are brutal- even the slightest deviation won’t work. But once you master it, that’s a real high–level skill.
“Also, for your full–time evaluation practical exam, I’m planning to have you independently complete a full–system pre–departure inspection on a spacecraft. Are you confident?”
Newman stared at the message, his heartbeat quickening slightly.
An independent full–system inspection!
That was work normally handled only by a certified repair technician!
Taking a deep breath, he quickly typed back on the virtual keyboard, “Don’t worry, Mr. Hancock. I’ll give it everything I’ve got. I won’t let you down.”
He hit send.
Almost immediately, his mentor replied with simple words, “You got this.”
Newman couldn’t help smiling.
The gloomy emotions stirred up by running into his former coworkers had completely vanished beneath this simple trust and encouragement.
He turned off the terminal and looked out the window again.
The starry sky stretched endlessly overhead, spacecraft navigation lights blinking like guiding stars lighting the road ahead.
Meanwhile, down in the city below, at the bus platform now long out of sight, the fallout from the encounter was far from over.
After the hover bus left, the station remained frozen in silence for 30 seconds.
“C–Cyndi…” Michael finally spoke up cautiously, breaking the suffocating stillness.
“Shut up!” Cyndi spun around sharply, eyes cutting toward him like knives.
Michael flinched and instantly fell silent.
Donald’s face was still dark with anger, his chest rising and falling violently. “Cyndi, that kid is obviously lying! We know exactly what kind of operation Tycoon Farm is. They just grow overpriced vegetables. Repair spacecraft? How many ships could they possibly even own? Fifty thousand a month? Who the hell would believe that?”
“Exactly!” another employee hurriedly agreed. “He’s obviously bluffing to save his pride!”
“Yeah, maybe he was doing it on purpose. Trying to shake morale or something…”
Cyndi didn’t answer immediately.

Chapter 324 Feeling Empty
She Simply stared coldly at her subordinates, who were desperately trying to comfort themselves and patch over the embarrassment, while the frustration inside he only burned hotter.
Unlike them, she understood the industry well.
The fact that Tycoon Farm’s fruits and vegetables sold at such, high prices while customers still flocked to buy them already proved their technology and quality were exceptional.
A farm like that investing heavily in advanced transportation systems and agricultural machinery made perfect sense.
As for salaries, she remembered the regional manager proudly announcing during the last meeting that the forced bundle sale strategy had been a massive success and had significantly boosted profit margins.
But when it came to employee pay raises, he’d only vaguely promised “appropriate adjustments.”
In the end, each employee got a token raise of one or two thousand stellar coins at most, and management st?!! branded it as performance–based growth.
Even her own salary as a supervisor hadn’t increased in two years.
Sixty thousand stellar coins sounded impressive. But after deducting the outrageous cost of living in the capital, plus the endless inspections from upper management, customer complaints, and performance pressure…
Newman’s comment about 50,000 stellar coins felt like a thorn lodged directly into the most resentful corner of her heart.
“Go back now,” Cyndi said coldly, her tone leaving no room for argument. “And nobody says a word about tonight. Especially the salary issue. Understood?”
“Understood…” the group answered weakly, eyes darting around/Clearly, none of them had fully taken her warning to heart.
“Especially you, Michael.” Cyndi stared directly at him. “Watch your mouth. If I hear any rumors floating around…”
She didn’t finish the sentence, but the threat was obvious.
Michael nodded rapidly while cold sweat spread across his back.
The next shuttle arrived, and the group boarded with their own thoughts swirling in their minds. An eerie silence filled the cabir

Nobody mentioned Newman anymore, but those high salaries kept echoing through every single head.
