Karl let the others continue to party as he made a few subtle changes to the Tiny World and added an energy gathering array to increase the density of the Immortal Energy in the same way that their bedroom in the apartment was intended to.
They might not have any permanent residents that needed it yet, but the eggs would grow at an astounding rate with the extra energy.
He was considering whether to use an additional skill or potion on them, something to bump them up in potential and base rank so that they would be better suited to the Immortal World, instead of sending them back to the Darklight Host or leaving them stuck here in the Tiny World.
However, Karl recalled that the Chaos Dragon had mentioned that the real powers of the Immortal Realm developed a Tiny World into their own separate domain.
Perhaps the Elders would know more about that?
It was likely too early to start, but knowing what the standards were to be building your own realm within the Immortal Worlds was important knowledge.
It didn’t take long before Tian and Lotus were both asleep on the couch, coming down from a sugar high, while Tessa and Thor were curled up reading a parenting book.
"I’m going to head back to the apartment and finish up the work there. If you all want to stay here, feel free. I will come find my Dana Mage when it’s time for sleep."
Dana winked at him, and Rae gave him a thumbs up, while Remi simply laughed and vanished, headed back to the Alchemy Labs to continue her work.
Her new recipes were coming along well, but the Elder still had a lot to show her about how to perfect them.
Tessa smiled as Dana turned on her the moment that Karl left.
"Oh, we have so many things to talk about." Dana insisted.
"I will let you talk." Thor agreed, getting up from the sofa.
"Oh no you don’t, mister. You’re going to stay right there, and we are going to have a long talk about teen pregnancy."
Tessa laughed, "I’m not a teenager anymore."
"But Thor definitely is, at least in some sense. I did not expect to be planning a baby shower before I was planning another wedding."
Tessa grinned, unrepentant. "And here I thought that the first concern would be what species they were going to be."
"I’ll just ask Cara later. She’s definitely foreseen at least a few things about the little ones, and she’s terrible at keeping secrets. As soon as someone knows what she’s keeping a secret about, she gets too excited and spills.
But if you know, I’ll gladly listen.
How did this even happen? Not the physical, I get that much. But children already?" Dana ranted.
We’ve got the guidelines, and we’ve got the skill, but I’ve already used Evolution once, and the second time requires even more. Hawk got lucky with the perfect dungeon, but I might not."
Being one rank behind doesn’t look harmful, but as Karl gets closer to peak immortal, it could be too much for you."
Thor frowned. "We looked into that as well, and there might be a solution to the conundrum. The bond between us is System set and tied to our bloodline, not our souls.
There are reports of beasts too powerful breaking free, so we know that it’s possible to break the bond without killing either party. So, it might be possible to dissolve it, or to transfer it to someone sharing the same bloodline."
"What are you suggesting?"
"If one of the little ones is born Immortal, we might be able to have Karl use his skills on them, and they can take my spot on the team, while I remain here with my Tessa and the rest of the herd." Thor explained.
Tessa sighed, clearly having had this conversation with him before.
"I don’t think that it’s going to come to that. You have evolved far enough that I’m certain you can reach Immortality, and then I will make it there eventually. We’re not on any sort of timeline other than Karl’s advancement plans for Thor."
