Chapter 1600: And Ready To Plot

The Elder sighed as he saw what was in Cara’s hand.

He assumed that was how the dungeon had been changed in the first place, and that they had taken advantage of the situation to get another one of them to use later.

"You know, I’m starting to wonder if you’re actually not a Chaos Badger at all, but a luck imp. Getting a coin like that more than once is incredible." He joked.

Cara winked at him. "Oh, it’s not just me. A few of the others got one today too, so we can all play the dungeon game."

"I’m starting to regret asking."

The gathered members laughed at the look on the Elder’s face, and quietly began making plans to take a proper group to the trial as soon as possible. There was a good chance that the trial would reset back to default difficulty after a day or two, and that would be a tragedy for their plans to get rich quick. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞

"You know, I’m Ascended now, so if I go, it should give us tougher bosses, right? We could maybe go and trigger the rewards twice." Swag realized.

"You think that you can... advance twice from the same dungeon if you just do it on a harder difficulty?" The Elder asked.

"Maybe? I don’t have that feeling of anticipation, but we might still get some good stuff. Besides, last time it said that Karl was the strongest of us, but now I outrank him."

The Elder looked between the two of them. "You may wish to reevaluate that sentiment. It’s pretty clear that as far as overall combat power goes, he’s still the stronger of the two of you."

"Why don’t we split the group? Last time, it said that Karl was nine standard units at Void Rank. I don’t know the conversion, but it shouldn’t be difficult to guess once we’re inside."

The Elder laughed. "What does that even mean? What standard units?"

Swag shrugged. "I don’t know either. When it was informing us of the power setting of the dungeon, that’s what it told us. Karl was the strongest, and he was nine standard units and Void Stage.

I was kind of hoping that you knew what it meant."

The rest of the group nodded. They had no idea how that ranking system worked.

Fortunately, they had Clerics. When it came to System oddities, they usually had the most insight. However, none of them looked like they had a proper answer.

The room was silent for a moment before Elder Forsham entered.

"Oh, good. You’re all here. I need to speak with Karl for a moment."

Swag ran over to stand in front of the Elder. "You know what a Standard Unit is, right? The Dungeon said that Karl is nine standard units."

Elder Forsham looked confused for a second, then laughed.

"A standard unit is what the System considers to be absolutely average at your Rank. One standard unit is someone with average numbers, powers and versatility of skills, halfway through their Rank in power.

It didn’t make a noticeable difference in the change rate of my Immortal Spirit. However, it did give me a massive amount of life and soul energy that I have stockpiled for later use."

The Clan Leader frowned. "Absorbing more life energy isn’t going to improve your progress in converting your Immortal Spirit."

Karl shrugged. "But I can use it to make Intelligent Weapons, to upgrade the ones I have, or even as backup healing energy should I pick a fight that I can’t win.

There were a few times in that last dungeon that got pretty spicy.

Oathbreaker, at whatever the Grade above Epic is, was not an easy fight. I have an insane amount of damage reduction I can share with the group, and Dana has Auto Parry for herself and her Golems, yet we still had five healers going just to keep up with the transferred damage.

I think that the loot was more than enough to buy whatever the group will need to make their next advancement, though.

The volume of epic grade items that you get when every mob in the dungeon is dropping boss level loot should not be underestimated. If you send more teams with excess healing and no members who are far beyond the others in power level, it should be a great opportunity."

The Clan Leader nodded as she poured tea for both of them.

"I suspect that you are right. Every Clan who can get a group into the dungeon starting today is going to have a massive power surge, thanks to the loot.

Emphasis on those who can get a team into the dungeon."
