Hawk came out to sit on Karl’s shoulder, and Elder Kushal idly noted that Karl had forgotten to change back from his combat form.
He was still in the form of a Cat Demon, which he used in the dungeon so that he had claws to combine with the Haint Claw that he was using as a primary weapon.
That thing was absolutely nasty, stealing life essence and soul energy from everything that it hit.
But it was an Immortal Rank living weapon. There weren’t many weapons that could be deemed as superior to it in the entire Immortal World. Kushal briefly wondered where Karl had managed to find such a thing, as he had brought it with him from the Mortal World.
But given his skills, he had likely managed to force a mortal Ranked one to advance.
"Well, I won’t object to a snack. It looks like Hawk and Cara are both up for testing something new. But if they’re willing to part with some of the loot, we can also trade one of the boars for all the snacks we need today."
Cara laughed at the unimpressed look on the Demon Crow visage Hawk was using.
"I’ve got money. Hawk dislikes parting with his meat stockpile, even when there is no realistic way that he could ever finish it all."
Hawk nodded in agreement. That was his meat.
"Just how much of it did he manage to save? I didn’t really keep track, but I don’t recall seeing a lot of boar corpses after the battle." Kushal asked.
"All of them. Hawk didn’t leave any of the boar corpses in the dungeon, his space lets him keep them all."
In the street in front of them, an Ascended Immortal barbarian with magical tattoos all over his visible upper body stopped.
"Did you say that someone in your team managed to bring the boars out in bulk? We could really use more. Most of the time, we can only bring out a few per run because they are so large, and our Inventory won’t store them unless we chop them up, but then they take multiple slots, and we can’t roast them whole."
"Hawk did. But he’s a bit protective," Kushal explained, with a gesture at the bird.
"Hawk, my friend, I don’t suppose that I could purchase a few of them from you? In exchange, I will make you one of our signature whole roasted pineapple pigs."
Hawk thought about that for a second.
He didn’t know pineapple pig. It sounded pretty good, though.
Reluctantly, he nodded. {Where do you want me to put them? I will give you two raw ones for one cooked one.}
That seemed like a fair trade to him.
There were other ingredients that went into making a properly roasted pig, so one pig could pay for the cooking and one for the ingredients. If it wasn’t worth the price, then he would know that pineapple pig was not good enough to make it to the Tiny World’s list of new foods.
They all had the same sort of magical tattoos on their skin, and Karl was intrigued by the process. Morgana had a skill to do the same thing, but he never got around to learning it from her before he left for the Dragon Isles, then completely forgot about it.
That would also make sense, given the fire magic that the species was known for. Hawk was most likely an excellent mage substitute, just using his racial abilities.
Or, the one named Karl might be a Ranger type class. His nameplate was all weird, and the berserker had no idea what to make of it.
The other three took their seats, and a large Felian woman got up out of her seat to take the spot directly across from Karl.
Cara laughed at the sable furred Catwoman. "Good choice, but you won’t get anywhere with him. He’s Soul Bonded to his Dana Mage."
The big woman looked disappointed. "Well, it was worth a shot. But I see that you brought our Clan something interesting."
"Indeed. We brought a bunch of whole boars out of the dungeon for supplies, as the New Home Clan was attacked. Hawk went with him to start preparing a pineapple pig. He’s quite excited about it, and apparently, it’s not easy to get intact boars out of the dungeon."
The Felian chuckled. "They’re two tonnes. Of course, it’s not easy, since you have to put them in storage. Most systems don’t even let you put dungeon monsters in inventory. Not even if they fit."
"How many did you get?" One of the topless servers asked, greasy handprints from the female patrons visible on his abs.
"We traded two raw boars for one cooked one. So, there will be a couple more for the restaurant today," Karl replied evasively.
"Oh, that is excellent news. The recipe works so much better with full pigs than doing briskets and roasts."
