The Elders brought over another group of Void and low Ascended Immortals.
"These will be the mining team. They’ve all got skills for mining, so they do it fast and have few problems finding the veins. Just keep the bosses off them and everything should go smoothly.
The patrol pattern is random, so don’t get too far from them unless you’ve got all three bosses engaged at the same time." The Elder reminded Karl and his team.
"Alright, let’s head straight for the dungeon then. We will have the miners wait by the entrance for a moment while my team spreads out and ensures that the area is clear.
We don’t want anyone getting caught in an area of effect skill.
After that, we should be good to go, and I will adjust the golems as needed to ensure their safety while we deal with the bosses and move them as far away from the mining operations as possible."
"Which one are you going to try to find first?" One of the miners asked.
"Doesn’t matter. We’ve been briefed on all of them. But ideally, the Tunnel Worm. With a large number of constructs, its giant body will be an advantage for us. It might be the most durable, but it’s likely to be the fastest to die."
The miners didn’t seem convinced, but the team led the way to the dungeon, and Karl led the way directly inside.
What he found was that the dungeon was dozens of kilometres underground, according to his senses, and the tunnels were over fifty metres tall and clearly not naturally formed.
They also didn’t appear to be made by the tunnel worm, as they had smooth, flat floors and textured walls.
So, this was likely an underground city, and the actual mines would start in front of them.
"Alright, this is the entrance. There are two ways into the mine, straight ahead and right. We usually start mining in the right tunnel, since there is a good chance for a Verite vein to spawn there.
If you can clear it in front of us, that would be perfect."
Karl nodded, and called out the beasts, then noticed that Thor was missing.
[Eggs are too close to hatching.]
[Got it buddy. We’re in a tunnel anyhow, likely not the best place for a behemoth.]
The miners looked confused, then Karl, Rae and Dana began to call out their Golems, as well as the [Army of the Dead] and the [Undead Minions] from both Karl and Rae.
"Miss Haint, will you take these to the right and clear the tunnel? Stop at the first intersection and wait for us to catch up."
The Haint nodded happily, and then skipped off hand in hand with the two Epic Guards.
"Your constructs are a bit odd."
Dana winked at the Elder. "That’s actually a Haint, a living weapon. Not a summoned construct. The Epic Guards are intelligent summons."
Karl and Remi called their bodyguards, and Karl gestured to the miners. "Remi, take the bodyguards and make sure that nothing sneaks up on the mining team. That will let the rest of us spread out without fear of ambush.
Dana and the majority of the team can join the Golems to control whatever we find on the right side.
I will go the other way with Rae."
