Chapter 1863: The Slow Team

Rae [Shadow Stepped] away from the cavern wall as the worm tried to crush her again, and laughed as the creature’s massive bulk was torn apart by spiders.

It was good to see so many of the Goddess’ chosen working together.

Much better than her two Golems.

The worm might think of itself as a grand boss of this place, but it was nothing more than food for the spiders today. It was just a shame that it didn’t taste better.

Rae was determined that she would one day find the way to use that spell, but even being bonded with Karl, she still couldn’t. It was stupid, she was a spider, they were spiders, they fought amazingly well together.

But she couldn’t cast the spell.

This was open bullying, and she was not going to stand for it. Where was the option to file a formal complaint?

While Rae was complaining about the unfairness of the System, Dana was more concerned with why the Oathbreaker Demons were suddenly so enthusiastic about killing this Manticore.

Sure, they always loved a fight. But this was more than that.

They seemed to be in a rush to get the boss down, despite the fact that their skills were literally designed for large group battles. The Oathbreaker Demon did area damage, spreading their attacks to every enemy nearby.

So, their total output in a massive battle would be hundreds of times higher than their single target damage.

The miners didn’t care. The Darklight Host team was not only holding off the boss, they had managed to keep the others from coming to reinforce it, and the mining operations were moving along at an exceptionally smooth pace.

They had nearly gotten everything in the first hallway, and now if they could bypass the boss, they could start moving to a new area.

Dana caught on right away when the mining team started to get close to them, and silently ordered her Golems to push the boss down the side tunnel a way.

"Keep clearing the shaft. That direction should be clear, all three bosses are accounted for," She explained.

"The other man and the spider horde have both other bosses contained?"

Dana nodded. "Trust the process. Karl’s power is not something that any average Void Immortal can compare to."

That didn’t mean much to them, given that the bosses were peak Immortals. But the trusted that Dana would have said something if her husband was losing and at risk of dying.

"Dammit. Still not fast enough," Oathbreaker shouted as he wailed on the boss with all four swords.

The Manticore was clearly on its last legs, and the back of the Mining team couldn’t help but marvel at the fact that the Darklight Host had managed to actually get a team that could kill a Peak Immortal boss so quickly.

This dungeon was actually considered to be a very easy one for its power level, as there were no monsters but the three bosses.

It was just that assembling a team was not easy at that power level.
