Chapter 1929: Get Them Drunk

Hawk and the bunnies working together was bound to be a disaster in the making. But with the assistance of everyone else in the kitchen, Hawk managed not to cause too much chaos, all things considered.

He kept forgetting that he couldn’t fly indoors in this form, as his wings were too large when spread, and just ran into people.

He wasn’t good with the humanoid hands, and he wasn’t used to standing on the floor.

But he was learning.

And the food was improving by the minute as everyone adapted to having [Divine Cooking] spread through the entire kitchen staff. That new skill was only an expansion on their skills, as if they had gained a hundred years of experience and a greater understanding of the metaphysics behind cooking with mana.

So, the food and drinks at the party were improving, and the party began to expand.

First, it was the Elders.

Then, the food drew the Lycans.

Then, the party drew passersby, who called their friends, and the Elder welcoming party turned into a townwide celebration with Divine Chef catered buffets and fine liquors taken from the New Home Merchant Clan warehouse.

"Sir Karl, there are more Esteemed Guests arriving," the Dark Elven High Priestess announced as she came up to the second floor, which was only accessible with permission from the Darklight Host members.

"Oh, outsiders?"

"Travelling Immortals, who were planning to stay at the inn and do some shopping tomorrow." She explained.

"Alright, if they’re important, bring them up."

The other Priestess entered with a pair of awestruck looking men in black robes bearing the Almeixei Sect logos.

"Ah, Guild Leader Karl. Thank you for having us, and congratulations on reaching Ascended Immortal. Your growth rate is absolutely astounding. Please forgive our intrusion, and accept this small token of congratulations for you and your wife."

The Elder handed over a pair of small jade tokens, linked for communication between two people.

They weren’t particularly valuable, but they were exquisitely carved works of art, as well as being functional.

"Thank you, Elders. Come, try the food. We recently obtained a new cooking related skill for the Guild, and the kitchens are trying it out now."

That surprised them. There weren’t a lot of cooking related skills, unless you counted kitchen adjacent skills. But that didn’t seem to be what Karl was talking about.

Then, they tried the lemon pound cakes that Lotus had just sent out.

The fresh flavour hit them first, and then the hint of higher level energy that was contained in the food. Their bodies filled with energy, and their minds cleared.

Just from one bite.

"This skill, what is it called?"

"It’s a bit ostentatious, but they call it [Divine Cooking]. It’s the advanced version of Mystic Cooking that I obtained while on a Dungeon run outside."
