What Cara had planned for the arena was not a prank, not one of the expected unusual functions that she had become fairly well known for.
No, what she planned was so much better.
Instead of creating chaos by altering random aspects of the arena, she fully intended to prevent all chaos in the arena, by causing all attempts to influence the arena to snap back to the default settings.
So, while many people would try to influence the fights inside the arena, or cheat before they entered for their fights, the changes that Cara influenced would stop them, and the effects would fail just as badly as if they were [Nullified].
Of course, the arena also had a [Nullify] effect for violence inside the stadium. But stopping the fights that would inevitably break out in the stands was much less fun than making everyone think that they had managed to cheat, only for the effect to fail for no apparent reason.
Chaos through order.
The ultimate Chaos.
Layer upon layer of runes were put in place, adding to the arena, while Oak made suggestions about things that should be added, even though they weren’t part of the core design.
There was the option to put a shade on the barrier over the arena so that they could reduce the glare from the sun when they were fighting in the afternoon. It would be more comfortable for the spectators, and the combatants wouldn’t notice the difference, as the actual arena floor had its own environment.
Even if they put a sunshade on the spectators, the fighters would see their own world.
The only "tweaks" that Cara decided to make to the arena was in the vendor section. When she pulled in Karl to do the [Pet Space] parts, she would be able to add new items to the menu at some of the shops run by constructs.
So, instead of her having the badger mess with the arena itself, she was just tweaking the food vendors to start producing randomized daily specials.
That would be more than enough to entertain Cara, since you never knew what it was going to make with the equipment and ingredients supplied. There were hundreds or thousands of options available with the same ingredients, so sometimes it could be something completely unexpected.
But it could only use what was available, and it would be limited by the Pet Space spell to always make something that was edible and marginally enjoyable to eat.
So, the prank wouldn’t go too far and end up poisoning someone.
In fact, it would even stop the construct working the counter from selling people products that they were allergic to. Although, it wouldn’t save you from stupidity, so if you told the clerk that the food was for someone else then ate it yourself, that was on you.
So, what they ended up with was an arena that looked very much like the arena in Zilaz on the outside, but with nature themed carvings, thanks to the pair of Green Dragons, and a much wider variety of food options.
Even though the Immortals weren’t all that creative with their snacks.
