Not long after, Ava saw that only a few programs were left before her turn. She stood up, picked up her lute, and got ready to head backstage.

But then, Tylissa’s self–written and self–performed stage play got pushed up again.

Noelle’s face darkened right away. “Is she ever going to stop? One change wasn’t enough; now, she’s jumping the line again? Just because she’s got power doesn’t mean she gets to do whatever she wants.”

Zoey let out a sharp breath. “That’s seriously gross. If everyone acted like her, what’s the point of even having a schedule? They might as well just give her a solo show. No wonder they picked this venue this year. Guess it was all to cater to her.”

Naom frowned. “This is really going too far.”

Since the play had already started, Ava had no choice but to sit back down.

They were all frustrated on her behalf, but there was nothing they could do about it.

Noelle clicked her tongue, clearly annoyed. “She really thinks this is her personal stage. If she loves performing that much, she should take it to the Grand Theater on Capitol Planet. Why come here? And now I get why this gala is dragging on so long. At this rate, it could run for hours. I swear, I’m about to start cursing.”

The play finally came to an end. It had run a little long, and the event was already nearing its final stretch. The audience was starting to lose energy.

Backstage, Zoey wiped at her damp eyes. “Oh my god, she’s so good. I’m actually crying.”

Naomi watched in silence, fully taking it in. It felt like both a visual and musical treat. “I didn’t expect Ava to choose this piece, but it worked out perfectly.”

The piece had been around for a hundred years. It was widely known and considered a must–learn classic for music students. It was basically at a national level.

Because it was so familiar, even a tiny mistake would stand out.

But Ava handled it well. She played smoothly, and the lute gave it a unique sound.

Naomi’s eyes lit up as she kept watching. “She’s completely in it. She really got into the piece’s feeling. This isn’t just playing notes or showing off skill anymore. She made it her own. Backstage, Tylissa stayed where she was. Even she couldn’t figure out why she hadn’t left after Ava went on stage.
